KAY Jewelers — Local services in Knightdale

I've been a Kay shopper for years and I've been visiting this location for about two years, made some major purchases, but I'll never go here again. I bought my two year old some earrings and because of her age, they recommended these particular kind of screw back earrings that she would be unable to remove. About a week later, we noticed that her earrings are gone. So much for these impenetrable earring backs. Still, we had accountability and figured we could do a better job of monitoring her earrings in the future, leave them in during the day, take them out at night. So we bought another pair of earrings from an outlet location and was going to drop them off at this location so that they could be shipped off for these impenetrable earring backs. I get there at 7:50pm and the door is locked. The older heavier set woman that is constantly smoking outside stared me square in the eyes and didn't move. The door says that their hours are 10am to 9pm. I point to my watch and my phone and she just stares at me blankly. So I go online, see that this location closes at 8pm. I got there 7:50pm so either way, I should be allowed entry to drop off earrings. She didn't budge. I didn't want to immediately assume that because I'm a larger Black man coming into a jewelry store around closing time that she was uncomfortable. To be ignored at a location where I've spent large sums of money is unacceptable, especially when there was no reason to locked out. There are nicer Kays out there with a wider selection. I just want to say my boyfriend ordered me online a ring and had it shipped here in March it came in and was beautiful but a stone was chipped, wasn’t an expensive piece just a birthstone ring that I liked and I showed the ladies and the immediately said we will fix it. They returned it, they ordered the new one exact while I was there they were very polite professional and seemed to be happy to make it right. The new one came in this weekend the aquamarine stone was very light naturally I went back and showed them to be sure it was the right birthstone, it is correct and I’m happy with it but they were willing to replace it just to make me happy. I declined because it is correct and beautiful they were the same ladies and I got the same wonderful service from them again. I ended up leavening with a nice gift for my mom and boyfriend lol please remember that they don’t make the jewelry so it isn’t under their control, whoever is the head manager just know that I spoke with every single lady working yesterday at some point and they are representing your location with professionalism, kindness, and amazing customer service! I went in to get an engagement band for my (now) fiancé. Abby helped me and was absolutely wonderful. I explained to her how he worked as an automotive technician and it needed to be a silicone band because regular wedding bands can cause all sorts of injuries in his Industry, she was very understanding and did not try to upsell me but was genuinely excited to help me find the right ring for him. The entire experience was an absolute delight. I even I bought the Saint Judes bear... we’re going to give it to his 11-year-old daughter for Christmas and tell her that it’s our engagement bear. I was really impressed by the fact that Kay’s allowed visible tattoos and piercings it’s really nice to see a company that is comfortable with that.
