My boyfriend called to book a room for 2 nights and asked at the time of the booking, if we decided to only stay one night, could we do that. The woman he spoke to told him that as long as we checked out before 11am we would only be charged for one night. When we checked in last night, we double checked that if we left before 11am, we wouldn't be charged and the woman at the desk confirmed this. At 6:45am the next morning, I went downstairs to checkout and was not even greeted by the man at the front desk. I said hello to him and told him I wanted to check out and he didn't even take his earbuds out of his ears. I explained the situation and he immediately took a rude tone with me and told me they have a 24 hour cancellation policy and I couldn't do that. I told him that we were told twice that we could leave early and he cut me off to tell me I was being rude. At this point, I still had not raised my voice but was trying to explain to him what we were told. He asked who told me that and I told him "whoever was working last night, I didn't catch her name". He repeatedly told me I was rude and continued to ask me who told me this and I continued to repeat whoever worked last night. This went on for several minutes along with "we have a 24 hour cancellation policy, I don't have authorization to do that, and she doesn't have the authorization to tell you that". He continued to berate me until he told me to get out. I told him I was not paying for 2 nights and he said, "it's been cancelled, now go!" I have never been treated like this from the very second I interacted with anyone. I will never stay here again and will make sure that my boyfriend let's his coworkers from the railroad know (they frequently work in Kremmling) not to stay...
Read moreWe do not believe Allington Inn & Suites is a well-run establishment worthy of our money (nor yours) and believe the management requires re-training. We reserved a room at this hotel based on their pet friendly policy but when we arrived, there were no pet friendly rooms available, meaning our dog would unnecessarily spend an 11 degree night in our vehicle. Disgraceful corporate chaos then ensued:
Within 30 minutes of checking-in, staff visited our room 3 separate times, accusing us of having our dog in our room; we felt these actions were unnecessary, invasive and contrary to Colorado's hotel privacy law, which we stated to hotel staff. Not only did the hotel manager attempt to coerce a staff member to lie about what he witnessed, but she proceeded to call the police. Upon receiving a visit to our room from local police, we explained the situation to the officer and demonstrated the dog was in our vehicle. The officer declined to take action and advised his presence seemed unnecessary given the nature of the call and our evident compliance.
The 5 follow-up calls to corporate ownership were not met with the level of professionalism expected, as we did not receive an apology, refund nor an adequate response within a reasonable time frame. Having since clarified the hotel's pet policy with Travelocity, the limited rooms at the hotel can only be reserved upon check-in, which is not a reasonable policy, given the hotel's very remote location and limited pet...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here on our anniversary between skiing at Steamboat and Winter Park. We chose it because of the location and because it's pet-friendly. It was a mistake. The place seemed nice enough, but the service left something to be desired. Our room was above the fireplace, so it was extremely hot all night, even after we turned off the heat and opened the window. Additionally, the night desk clerk smoked under our window, and our room filled with smoke. That clerk also talked extremely loudly on her phone complaining about other employees all night. She even said on the phone "I'm outside, so no one can hear me." It wasn't much better when she was inside; we heard her all night. I tried to call down and complain, but she didn't pick up the phone. Additionally, we left a toiletry bag there, which they were nice enough to tell us about. However, I asked if they could mail it to us and charge us, and the lady at the desk said yes, but that the manager would have to call me back and confirm. I called back several times that week and was given a variety of excuses: "everyone is sick" (probably where I picked up the worst cold that I've had in years) and "the manger is busy trying to buy another business". My husband's glasses were in the bag, so I gave up and drove all the way back the next weekend. The desk clerk was chatting on the phone (not business) and made me just stand there and wait. I did get the bag back, but we will definitely not...
