The Dean West — Restaurant in Kremmling

The restaurant itself is very cute. Loved the outside patio. They have a lil playground for kids and a corn hole set up. However, the bartender and server wasn't very friendly. We walked up to the bar because it looked empty, the bartender immediately said "there are 2 ladies sitting there and they went out for a smoke". No, hey guys or hi just want to let you know those seats are taken but there are tables behind you that you can sit at. I've been a bartender for over 20yrs and you're supposed to make people feel welcome so they go back. . The server was ok. But she barely spoke more that a few words to us each time she was at our table. She didn't bring napkins or silverware with our food. And when I order a spicy margarita, she ordered the specialty drink that was on the drink menu, which was ridiculously hot, like unbearable. Plus, it was made with vodka. I asked for a tequila spicy margarita and I def didn't get that. And when I told the server it was too hot and I even apologized because I have not ever sent a drink back she didn't even apologize or offer to get me a new one. She just looked and me and stood there like she didn't know how to talk. . We order fish and chips. The fish batter was too thick and not even cooked all the way, it was cakey inside. We didn't even finish out food. The beer we order came in a lil tiny glass, um where was the punt glass of beer lol. Anyway, unfortunately we will not be returning to this place. But we do hope whoever goes there gets better service and better...

This place has very friendly staff, and the look of the place is all it’s own. After reading all the 5 star reviews, We were excited to give it a try. The portions are large, and price is reasonable. Because of friendly staff, huge portions, and reasonable prices I am giving them a 3. The food was so not worth the hype. My husband ordered Fish and Chips (fries) they were good. My husband said at least they were real potatoes. I ordered the Half Rack of Smoked Ribs. They came with mashed potatoes, gravy and asparagus. I was totally unimpressed. First off my ribs were cold, not even luke warm, I should have sent them back, but for the sake of time, I decided to just take them to go. The gravy on the mashed potatoes tasted exactly like Lowry’s packaged brown gravy, or just like thickened beef consommé. (You can see in the photo, the potatoes and gravy were congealed on top.) The asparagus was the best part of my meal, it was also the smallest portion of anything we ate. I really wanted to love this place, but I really feel it...

My Father and I came to Kremmling, Colorado looking for a quick bite to eat before heading back down 6 to the reservoir for a sunset photo opportunity . We stumbled upon The Dean West per its Google Reviews and the GPS leading us to a place nearby that looks like it was only a Breakfast/Lunch spot. Both of us were welcomed by the Distillery team and we grabbed a table. Our server/ bartender was really attentive and treated us like we were her family. Now for the important part outside of the ambiance and hospitality being most excellent. The food! We both had the Glazed Sirloin with veggies and REAL mashed potatoes and brown gravy. COVID has changed my father’s pallet, but more so I think that you all season things just right where its not salty for those who do not care for it (me) and has enough flavor to not require that habitual dash from Dad. Thank you all again for the good IPA, ambiance, hospitality and food. The only thing that needs to be sharpened so you can continue to slay are the steak knives. I for sure...
