If you find yourself anywhere near Kremmling, do yourself a favor and stop at Kremmling House of Pizza. I had their Amalfi Pizza and, honestly, it’s one of the best pies I’ve ever eaten. It’s a white garlic sauce base topped with fresh basil, ripe tomatoes, juicy chicken, thyme, pine nuts, and a balsamic drizzle that ties everything together in this perfect balance of savory, herby, and tangy.

I went rogue and added sausage to mine, and that little move took it from amazing to outrageous. You know that feeling when you’re absolutely full but your brain keeps telling you to take one more slice because it’s so damn good? Yeah, it’s that kind of pizza.

Okay, hear me out: the Big Mick Pizza at Kremmling House of Pizza is absolute madness in the best possible way. It’s built on a Thousand Island base, loaded with beef, onions, green peppers, then finished with a pickle aïoli and sesame seeds. Yeah, I know — it sounds like something a sleep-deprived genius dreamed up at 2 a.m. But guess what? It works. Like, Elvis-with-his-peanut-butter-and-banana-sandwiches works.

Every bite hits you with this weird-but-perfect combo of tangy, savory, crunchy, and rich, and you just sit there shaking your head because you can’t believe how good it is. We popped into Kremmling House of Pizza headed back to Colorado Springs for a late lunch. Pizza was good and we also ordered fried cheese sticks. I think with drinks it was under $35, priced very modestly. The restaurant is adorable and has a lovely mountain feel. What was the take away was the staff. It appeared to be a couple that was beyond friendly, kind, and welcoming.
