I’m a true coffee addict and fan, with years of café experience back in Kansas City and even my own espresso machine at home. That means I can immediately tell when a cappuccino isn’t right the milk is overheated or burnt, the espresso overpowers the balance, or the beans are low quality.
At Oh Oh Coffee, none of that exists. Every drink here is crafted perfectly. David makes absolute killer coffees the cortado especially is out of this world. The milk is always silky and balanced, the espresso smooth and strong without being harsh. Honestly, if I don’t like a coffee, I usually toss it and never return to that café. But here? This is a place I’ll keep coming back to.
Beyond the coffee, the atmosphere is pure healing. Sitting outside or inside, you’re surrounded by the beauty of La Crosse the Mississippi River flowing by, a peaceful fountain, and a city so gorgeous it feels like it was hidden from me until now. Pair that with a fresh, delicious croissant at prices that are more than reasonable, and it’s not just coffee it’s soul food.
Oh Oh Coffee isn’t just a café. It’s a place to recharge, to breathe, and...
Read moreDavid makes a mean specialty coffee. Don't get me wrong, any coffee will make me happy, but this was a whole different experience and taste. His syrups are made in-house, the merch is all hand printed (super fun cool designs) and he really knows his stuff. Besides all the delicious stuff, he also is super kind and fun to talk to. He is starting a chess club too and it's a super fun, funky, and fresh group! It's not like stuffy, everyone sits in silence kind of chess, it's bantering, mistakes, fun, and a genuinely inviting environment for anyone to be in. Plus, he sometimes plays Star Trek on the TV, it's all around a good vibe. I also want to mention that Oh Oh Coffee is a tip-free, pro-union place, it's also Indigenous owned which is super cool! I highly suggest stopping in sometime (or always). It feels like walking into a friend's kitchen, warm, inviting, and always food/drinks made from the heart. The seasonal drinks...
Read moreWhat a gem of a coffee house on La Crosse's waterfront! My friend, who lives in Madison, and I, who live in St Paul, decided to meet in La Crosse on a beautiful fall day. We met at Oh Oh, and were greeted by David, the proprietor, who is newer to the area. We both had a very tasty coffee drink, and enjoyed getting to know about David and his business. It is clear that he puts a lot of care into his beverages and business, and this was not unnoticed! Other clientele in the shop also seemed to be enjoying their drinks and the ambiance. This is truly a great spot, and I look forward to returning! I also had the opportunity to share Bloedow's donuts from Winona with him, so a double bonus of two great independent businesses somewhat proximate! I also like that the business model does not depend on tips. I am a person who really dislikes tipping culture, and this...
