Sleep Number forces you to use their app instead of a remote to adjust the bed air setting which forces you to connect to the internet. It will also tell you it is connected via bluetooth even though the phone shows the bed is not paired. But you can't even use it on bluetooth without an internet connection. And you do not get a simple remote unless you pay an extra $50. The brain dead app will continually multiple times per minute in perpetuity pummel your router with IP release renew requests. Their troubleshooting says that means you should check the air hoses!@#$ Yea, right. No leaks. They have no fix for their ridiculous app. Then at some point, Sleep Number deleted my account arbitrarily with no notice which means you can't login to your bed to just adjust the mattress sleep number. Then you have to deal with them to fix your account, etc etc. It is a horrible situation with lots of incompetence designed only to track your sleep behavior and market their stuff to you. They claim they don't track you but require an ID and password and validate that in their database if you login all of which IS tracking. And they keep all the infrastructure in place to track whenever you roll over in your sleep. Oh, and if the Internet goes offline, you also can't adjust the mattress firmness. You can buy a remote for $50 frigging dollars which has the most complicated pairing process for a remote on the planet according to the support site steps. Or buy a different brand bed. One without an app. I actually connected a 25-year old Sleep Number pump with wired remote and turned off the new air pump with all the bad engineering. Fortunately, the hose clips were the same size! Now I can still pump up the mattress the next time they delete my account! Their support people are very nice and the chat support works great. But the support folks cant fix bad engineering. They have no workarounds they...
Read moreI tried to go purchase pillows on Easter Sunday. The store said it was open on the site but it ended up being closed when we arrived. We respect the religious time at church and family. There was a promotion for buy one pillow get one 50% off. I wasn’t able to get back to the store until today. I wanted to purchase them and asked if they could honor the promotion, she said is not allowed to take discounts. I said ok, but I tried to come during the promotion days ago. I asked if I should call customer service and she said sure and gave me the number. I awkwardly sat there on hold for 10min with her and then I said I’ve got to go as it’s been too long (and uncomfortable). I could’ve been a customer but now I’ve wasted 1:15min of driving to and from a store 2x and then an employee unable to make a logical and fair decision given my attempt to purchase but unexpectedly the store was closed and timing driving to the store. I can’t in good conscience be a customer. It could’ve started with a pillow that we loved and then came back for a mattress and the foot warmer was great. But now I’m left with a sour experience due to not empowering employees in the store. All the power I have is where I make my purchases so unfortunately I won’t be making one with...
Read moreIn store employees are nice, but customer service is very rude and condescending. Returning is not as easy as they make it sound. You are stuck with it for 30 days and have to pay a $250 pick up fee (which was more than the delivery & setup fee). When purchasing they just tell you that you have up to 100 days to return. This was a miserable 30 days. I woke up throughout the night and was sore every morning. I paid extra for the i8 bed which is supposed to have cooling effects, and I was sweating every night. You have to use the app to adjust your number, sometimes it would take upwards of 5 minutes to go change. This is especially fun to wait for in the middle of the night. These beds seem like an interesting idea but long-term, do you really want an app to control your bed? When something goes wrong, as you can see from some of the other reviews, you are out of luck.
Overall lost $400 just to return what is really just an overpriced air mattress.
In response to their reply: the details of their return policy is inconsistent with...
