I had a highly disappointing stay at the Choice hotel. From the moment I arrived, I encountered multiple issues. Firstly, the front door was not automatic and was covered in disgusting hand prints and debris from numerous guests. It was a hassle to hold the door open while struggling with my luggage. Additionally, the coffee area was consistently out of coffee, which was a letdown since I always look forward to a fresh cup upon entering the hotel. The absence of the usual freshly baked cookies further added to my disappointment.
The front desk attendant was extremely rude when I arrived before the designated check-in time of 3 o'clock. Instead of providing assistance, she treated me as if I were bothering her and curtly informed me to return later. This lack of welcoming behavior was unexpected and left me feeling unwelcome. Moreover, the overall cleanliness of the hotel and common areas fell far below my expectations. Despite finally checking in at the appropriate time, my status as a Diamond member went unrecognized, and I was not greeted or treated according to my expectations.
Navigating the hotel proved challenging as well. There was no assistance or guidance from the front desk in finding the elevator, and upon entering it, I was met with a couple's discarded feet and slices of pizza on the floor, suggesting a lack of proper maintenance. The inside of the elevator doors were also soiled, and the button console was in a similarly unclean state, making it unpleasant to touch. The lobby and hallways were uncomfortably hot and failed to maintain a suitable temperature.
The room service was subpar, with improper servicing. The shower area had already used soap, and the complementary soap bottles were completely empty. To make matters worse, I discovered someone else's hairs in the sink, and we were missing towels and washcloths. This lack of attention to detail and cleanliness greatly affected my overall experience.
To add to my disappointment, there was ongoing construction on the exterior of the building, resulting in large debris scattered on the ground. This posed a safety hazard, as both my wife and child accidentally stepped on debris, with my wife nearly rolling her ankle while walking from the parking lot to the building. Additionally, the hallways and other common areas had a persistent strong smell of marijuana, which was highly unpleasant. Throughout my two-day stay, I continuously encountered this odor.
In conclusion, my experience at the Choice hotel fell far below my expectations. The lack of automatic doors, cleanliness issues, rude staff, poor room service, ongoing construction, and overpowering smell of marijuana all contributed to a highly disappointing stay. I had grown accustomed to a higher standard with the Choice brand, and this experience did not align with my previous...
Read moreLet me begin by saying I've stayed here many times in the past and this hotel was OK. But my latest stay was horrible. Let's start at check-in. A paper photo copy of my drivers license was made which I objected to. If they wanted to scan it into your secure server, then fine. But a paper copy can fall into anyone's hands and have access to my personal ID. Next, I was charged $100 PLUS TAX as a security deposit. I was told that if there was no damage to the room, I would get that back in 5-7 days. I've stayed at this hotel a number of times and I was never charged a security deposit. With the state of the room I received, they have some nerve charging ME a security deposit. When I got up to my room, there was an upholstered chair and ottoman that was disgustingly dirty. I took photos of this to the front desk and I was told I had to see the manager in the morning. I also asked them where the toilet paper holder was and I was told there was none. Just leave the TP on the counter. Later that evening when I sat in the desk chair, it was scratchy on my back and I saw that the vinyl was pealed off half the back of the chair leaving scratchy fabric and residual glue. In the morning I saw the manager and he did have both chairs replaced. At the same time I asked for extra towels which were delivered to my room by housekeeping. I specifically asked for extra towels as I was heading to the beach that day and wanted towels for that day and the next day. But when I returned to my room from the beach, those extra towels were removed from my room. Without any towel bar, I could not hang my used towels to use again and the robe hook behind the door was broken. Now I had no extra towels for the morning. I was informed on your website that housekeeping would not service my room daily but every third day, however, someone was in my room every day,. They never made my bed, vacuumed or cleaned the bathroom and only collected garbage and removed any extra towels. I have to wonder what they were doing in my room daily and I felt my privacy was violated because I didn't expect anyone to be in my room. Lastly, on my last night of my 3 night stay, toiletries were replenished in my room, however, the tiny shampoo container was HALF EMPTY. Which means, they gave me someone's used shampoo bottle which was only half full. I've had many previous stays at this hotel and I can assure you I will not return. Ever. This hotel has gone downhill. Could it be because of...
Read moreIf I could give this negative stars I would. I used my card to reserve two rooms for my employees who were working and needed to stay the night in Lantana. My order was confirmed, and i printed out my receipt for the rooms from the website. When my crew arrived, they provided the front desk with the name on the reservation, as well as the reservation confirmation number. They were then informed that they would not be allowed to check into their rooms until they paid a $50 despot fee per room. This fee was never mentioned on the website, nor was it listed as a fee when i went through the process to reserve the two rooms. So not only did i spend my money to reserve the rooms, but now I'm being shook down for more money as soon as my guys get to the hotel. After discussing this exact issue with the front desk lady, I told her that despite this issue, i was willing to pay the fee, to which she informed me I could not pay, but my crew would have to pay since they were the ones staying the night. So now the second issue.....you're willing to take my money for the rooms, but now you're not willing to take my money to pay this deposit fee that magically cropped up, so that my crew who've been working 12 hours, can go to their rooms to get cleaned up and rest. After more arguing i eventually had to zelle my crew lead $100 to cover the two rooms so that he could pay this idiotic fee. And then when they checked out this morning 3/15/24, and they are given the receipt........look at that, no deposit fee is listed on the official receipt. So you took my money, and other than my crew leads bank statement, there will be no paper trail / receipt to show that money exchanged hands? I'll honestly be surprised if i get my $100 back at this point. This is a horrible way to do business and I hope nobody goes here until they start listing their "deposit fee" on their website and include it on the receipts, instead of hiding it and then forcing people to pay it in order to get to their room, after the rooms have already been paid for. Don't ever go here if you want to be...
