Disgusting: Apparently I have made the worst choice on a quick hotel stay just for one night. I flew in from Missouri into St Pete International Airport and I needed a hotel to stay at just for tonight until my family was arriving tomorrow. I arrived at suburban extended stay hotel here in Largo Florida the address is 6500 Ulmerton Road in Largo Florida 33771. At just before 10 o'clock I was assigned room number 215 and proceeded to go to my room after paying for the room and a security deposit. At just around 1130 1115 or so I was getting ready to go to bed I pulled down my sheets and there was a drop of blood on the sheets. Unfortunately the front desk manager had left at 11 so the security personnel was the only one available, apparently there was an issue that I was unaware of with the room from the previous guest so the security officer moved me to room number 213 and after a very brief inspection of the room it appeared to have been maintained and I went back to room 215 to grab my belongings and move down to room 213. As I pulled the sheets down to further inspect the bed, i noticed on the sheets what appeared to be a human pubic hair and also human hair from the scalp also the sheets and blankets and pillow cases were damp and in some cases downright wet. I once again called the security personnel, he did bring me clean dry sheets as well as pillowcases and confirmed the possible pubic and human hair on the old sheets and also confirmed that they were wet. I also left a voicemail for the front desk manager to return my call in the morning at room 213 as earliest as possible. I feel absolutely disgusted and have never in my life dealt with such disgrace and uncleanliness in my life and I highly doubt I will even be able to get a good nights rest thinking that this room has not been cleaned. I paid for a clean room and I have not received it. I will and should expect a full refund immediately and I would like to hear from the company who manages this hotel and as to why I have received such poor service. This is outrageous and horrifying. Date of incident 6/14/14-6/15/14. This is unsanitary and unsafe and I will be reporting this...
Read moreWe finally had to check out early after a bad few days. My girlfriend and I stayed here while we were waiting for our condo in St. Pete to become available, and we were persuaded by the mediocre-to-positive reviews we saw online.
Unfortunately, we noticed that the room had a strong, strange smell, which permeated our clothes even when we weren’t there. The bathroom shower dripped some kind of brown ooze (gross), which I ended up having to scrub out of the tub every morning. The location also left a lot to be desired, with a lot of strip clubs and “gentleman’s lounges” as neighbors. Arriving from the east also requires U-turning at a very slow light, which I realize isn’t the hotel’s fault but got frustrating after awhile.
But the part that made us the most uncomfortable was the loitering – people standing around outside silently late at night, or groups of people sitting on the stairways smoking when we were trying to get to work, forcing us to walk through thick smoke clouds (or find more inconvenient stairways) just to get to our car. We often noticed people standing right outside our hotel room door late at night for seemingly no reason.
In general, we felt somewhat uneasy (especially with a room full of electronics and stuff we were planning to move into our condo), so we canceled the remaining few weeks on our reservation and moved to another place. I want to say you get what you pay for (our rate was very good), but there were better options for a similar price.
Still, I want to give the staff points for trying. They were very accommodating in their payment options, they let us move after we were dissatisfied with our first room, and they were very sweet and friendly.
But the best advice would be to take your hotel...
Read moreExtended stay hotels in general are a mixed bag. They are economical, however you get what you pay for. Despite a recent renovation this hotel is operating on too tight of budget. I borrowed a vacuum and made my room dirtier because the fabric on the bag was ripped. The rooms are ok in layout amenities, etc. I wasn't thrilled about the cleanliness of the bed. In fact they wash the bedding in the same laundry room that the guests use. They advertizes great deals that have too many conditions to take advantage of. The management was fair and tried to accomodate requests. On top of everything else, the majority of the items I purchased from the Walgreens next door were stolen. I'm not able to carry a lot due to medical reasons so I left part of my purchases outside the door of the office. It was not the hotels fault that my things were stolen. It probably says more about the type of people the...
