We stayed 2 nights and got the breakfast buffet for the morning, and the paw pass. I love that you can use your wristband as a key and a charge card to charge everything back to your room!
If you have a large family, I would say it is not worth it to get the wolf pass. It's cheaper to buy things for your family like the rope course for 6 people is only 44.99. The bowling for 6 people is only 24.99, and the mining mirror maze is only 49.99 for 6 people! Otherwise, if you have a small family, I would get the wolf pass!
I would definitely buy the paw pass for the magi quest game, wand, ice cream, candy bucket, and so much more! They have great deals that come with it, too!
If you have littles, I would do the pup pass as it is worth it!
Let's talk extra activities that were free...
Storytime - was so much fun they made it super interactive, and the staff that ran it were so fun and sweet. They also picked older kids as well as younger kids to participate in story time!
Arts and crafts - this kinda annoyed me because it was the same bat each time we went to arts and crafts. I think its time they changed it up a bit. The bat was hard to make, so my kids and I made it into a cootie catcher, which turned out super cute. See the picture attached...
Trick or Treating- was super fun the first night we were there. The staff are dressed up, and they give you a cute little Halloween bag, and you trick or treat. They were giving hand fulls of candy... the next night, they weren't as friendly, saying only 1 piece per station there is only 6 stations and they are giving away tootsie rolls, smarties, jolly ranchers, and a few other small candies... I just found that to be a little strange...
Arcade - make sure you ask for your tickets to be put on your card, not printed at the machine... my son won over 600 plus tickets, and the games only printed 300 and something. But the staff was nice and added all the extra tickets onto the card because they do keep track. I honestly do not think the arcade is worth the money as it does cost 11.5 points just to play 1 game....
Mirror Maze Mine- this was fun for a 1 time deal. It's not worth the money at all and I will not pay to do it again. You do not have control over the attractions inside the mirror maze and if you don't get through the maze to the next scene it will start without you. So we missed a couple of scenes.
Magi Quest- this is so worth it. Even without the pass I will throw money at this fun game. Kids go around with there wands and they are interactive and fun. Your are running around the whole hotel searching for items and clues. My kids loved it so much. Can't wait to go back and do it again. My boys want to get more toppers and possibly the belt and cape. They also have a ceremony to reward you for completing it! The best part is the staff keep it up and running and can reset it if something happens and it just keeps going real smooth...
Rope course- the kids loved this make sure to bring close toed shoes! It take about 30-40mins to complete it and the kids loved it. It gave me time to sit down and rest while they were going through the course! It is 2 layers or absolute fun and exciting thrills.
Now, for the best part, the Waterpark- ok, so it is a bit muggy, but no strong chlorine smell. I suggest bringing your own beach towels. So you can mark where you're sitting. Otherwise, the same towels are everywhere. The waterslides are super fun. My kids went on them multiple times! I even did the family one, so fun! The lazy river is my favorite... but parents need to stop hogging it from the kids and pay attention, so you're not hitting kids in the head. Also, please stop standing on the side with all your clothes on yelling at kids in the pool they can't hear you. And absolutely, just because your kid isn't getting on a log doesn't mean you get to have the staff yell at other kids to make them get out, so not cool... they were all having fun, and you're...
Read moreFirst I want to say we were so impressed with this location and our family had a great time while we were there! The issue I have is right after we left we had a billing problem where we were charged way more and unexpectedly. So I called the main number and was given a reference number and was told I would be followed up with. A few days later no one followed up but the money was taken out of my account. So I proceeded to call back to the one and only main number they have and was on the phone with 4 different people before finally being able to reach the Manteca location. Once I was on the phone with Melanie there. She helped me figure out the issue but when I expressed the slight frustration I had with trying to be proactive and calling as soon as I got home and noticed the mis charge she proceeded to be condescending and rude. Saying that if I would have called the location directly they would have been notified but she also proceeded to tell me there is no direct number for their location and I have to call the main number and ask to get to them. She was very passive aggressive and rude with how she was speaking and her responses. Also Stating if I would have filled out the right form this wouldnât have happened. My grandma gifted us the stay and I explained isnât so tech savvy as to how this had happened. Also no one when we checked in caught this mistake and when I called back at the day of check out. Then Multiple times she talked over me and when I asked about how we were allowed to check in and stay and two other people there saw our form and cleared us and explained we were good to go. She stated she was not there and so canât speak on that. When I asked if I could explain to her the description of who helped me she said well we have 30 people who work the front so I donât think it will help and I wasnât there so I canât speak on it. IAnd repeatedly was rude never once apologized for any inconvenience and their mistake. I asked to speak to her manager and she said there wasnât anyone else there or that could talk to me. And she wouldnât give me their email addresses and said there is no other number. So I told her Iâd be calling back and filling out the form and she hung up without saying anything else very rudely. Then once we filled out yet another form I had to call back again I waited on the phone for 45 mins to talk to to other representatives who told me then the Manteca location was not answering their phones for some reason and there was no other number I could call and no other district number I could call to make sure my issue is resolved. I also asked how I can file a complaint for the rude customer service I experienced and there was no way except to file a claim that goes directly to that location only. I have never dealt with a customer service so bad when I am trying to resolve peacefully an issue that was overlooked and trying to get my money refunded. It is also very frustrating to have to come here to make a bad review after having such a good time because it seems as though their location only answers the phone when they want and itâs impossible without waiting for 2 hours or more to get through. To get nothing resolved and in hopes that they received it and will take care of it but I wonât know but I can try to call back tomorrow and I might which is the words from the main customer service operaters be able to get through but they arenât sure. So how is anyone supposed to get issues resolved when none of their departments speak to each other their is only one main line and when the Manteca location clearly has a lot of customer service issues and I wonât know if will get refunded based on...
Read moreWe stayed at Great Wolf Lodge Manteca from Sunday 8/24 to Wednesday 8/27, and while we did end up having a fun family trip, the stay had a very rough start â and there are definitely things future guests should know, especially about the cabanas.
Day 1 â Sunday Arrival We had booked an indoor deluxe cabana for Sunday so we would have a place to relax and eat lunch while waiting for our room. Unfortunately, this ended up being an absolute waste of money. It took over 15 minutes just to find someone to check us in because there was no staff at the cabana stand. When we finally got checked in, the employee simply pointed out which cabana was ours and sent us on our way. Four hours later, no one had checked on us, and our cabana had none of the things it was supposed to come with (towels, souvenir cups, pizza meal, server service).
When I went back to the stand and waited again for help, the employee eventually realized we should have been given a bag at check-in and handed it to us. She also put in our food order. The meal arrived in about 20 minutes, which was fine, but after that no one ever returned to check on us for the rest of the evening â nearly eight hours in total. For $450, the cabana was essentially just a seat with a meal. Absolutely not worth the cost, and I would not recommend it.
Thankfully, the evening turned around when we went to Barnwood for dinner. Our server, Thomas Barnwood, was attentive, kind, patient, and had such a warm smile. His service was absolutely wonderful and helped salvage the day. Later that evening, our son wanted to try the ropes course and got nervous, and we met Serena in the Adventure Park. She was incredible with him, praising his bravery and encouraging him in such a genuine way. Over the course of our stay, we saw this is just who she is â kind, uplifting, and always engaging with kids. Truly a gem of an employee.
Day 2 â Monday Monday morning we had to go back to the front desk because our son ripped off his wristband. Thatâs when we discovered that at check-in, we had not been given our Ultimate Food & Play Pass or even told how it worked. Thankfully, Lorie at the front desk took the time to fully explain everything, give us the correct wristbands, and make sure we had what we paid for. She was the first person to really take time to help us, and we appreciated her care.
That night at Woods End Creamery, Briana was wonderful as well. Even though it was busy, she listened, explained our options with upgrading the included ice cream, and made us feel taken care of.
Day 3 â Wednesday Departure On our last morning, during breakfast, Lucas checked in on us while we ate. That may sound small, but it stood out â no one had ever done that at breakfast before, and it felt kind and thoughtful.
Overall Thoughts The rest of our stay was much better than Sunday, and there are some truly outstanding employees at this location who made our visit memorable â especially Thomas, Serena, Lorie, Briana, and Lucas. They each went above and beyond, and weâre grateful for them.
That said, the cabana experience was extremely disappointing. For the cost, there should be consistent service and clear communication, and that simply wasnât our experience. We also should have been given our passes and proper wristbands at check-in without having to discover it ourselves.
Overall, we did enjoy our trip, but Great Wolf Lodge Manteca has some serious consistency and service issues to work on. My advice: skip the cabana, but look out for the shining stars among the staff who truly make the...
