La Estrella Tacos & Seafood — Restaurant in Manteca

While driving between my apartment in the bay area and seeing family in the central valley I kept seeing a billboard saying they had the best burritos. So on one drive back home with my girlfriend after a visit to family we decided to stop in and give them a try.

First off, it wasn't very busy that night, person that took our order was very friendly. I ordered a al pastor burrito while my girlfriend went with the chicken tacos. They had a nice salsa bar and I liked their hottest salsa, not the spiciest one I have ever had but it had a great kick.

My girlfriend enjoyed her tacos and my burrito was excellent. I have had burritos were all the flavors got lost, that wasn't a problem in this one. Very filling so bring your appetite if you have one. It was worth the stop and I will likely...

I’ve been a customer here before, but lately, it feels like a rip-off. I ordered and paid for a super quesadilla, but when I checked the order, it was very small — looked and felt like a regular one with very little meat. I even asked them to recheck, and they insisted it was the super.

Previously, they had given me a regular instead of a super (which is much more expensive) but at least replaced it that time. This time, no.

For the most expensive Mexican restaurant in Manteca, the portions are shrinking, and it feels like they’re cutting corners on meat and quality. Very disappointed. I won’t be coming back unless they improve.

La Estralla has become my go-to place for tacos. The service is friendly and the food is prepared fresh to order. On my visit, they had a great salsa bar with a number of fresh-made salsas to choose from as well as other condiments such as pickled onions, roasted peppers, sliced radishes, cucumbers, and lime slices.

Cleanliness is very important to me and they nailed it with a person dedicated to keeping the dining room clean. This speaks volumes to how they run their opperations. Good job guy!
