I had come last week to look over and understand what was available, learn the main focus of what kind of mattress that was best for me, of course to hear the prices. Then I needed at least a few days to check out comparisons; this seemed harder than choosing a car! I hadn't planned on coming by yesterday, but as I was in the area and had time, stopping in for a 2nd time made sense. Obviously I got more accomplished than expected. Scott was very good to talk to, giving plenty of information, and sure wasn't pushy as I tried out and finally focused on about 3 mattresses. And his bringing up the lifting base was the winning result in making my decision. I wanted that piece no matter which mattress. He was very understanding about Bed in a Box considerations that I'd reviewed for over 4 hours last weekend. Because of my being retired and having long time low back problems, I decided better to truly know what I was getting. Having the option to return the mattress, along with all the extra aspects included in making the final decision. I had expected, hoped for, better Black Friday and/or some other obvious good discounts. I did choose a good mattress, but not the top of preferences because of cost. Big sign advertisements showing 50% off sure caught attention, but I learned that sale was pretty limited. I also learned I could change my purchase from a full size to a queen size at twin cost; my bed frame is full size. So the limited pricing variations were disappointing, especially since I strongly wanted to include the lifting support. I'm not sure about putting the final cost decision on Scott's shoulders; he might have been doing the best he could. But I do think there should have been better lower cost in the...
Read moreCame in for a box spring today and overheard an employee telling customers to avoid shopping on the website and that they should just buy their items from the store. I felt that this was just a way to more commission by selling items. I told the employee, Chris, what I was looking for and he started ordering me the boxspring online. I had to ask him to show me the product he was ordering in the store to make sure it was the same as I viewed online. I didn't want to be upcharged. We got to the address portion and he immediately offers me the 3rd most expensive delivery package where they would remove my old boxspring and move in the new one. I told him that I don't have a box spring currently and he looked very disappointed when he had to tell me that they had a free delivery service that would just leave it outside my door. I told him that sounded great and that's what I want. I went on to the mattress firm website and I found a coupon for 15% off and decided just to order it online myself and have them cancel the order. When I called to cancel the order, I was told to call back in 20 minutes because they were busy. There was no offer to give me a call back or anything. I called back 30 minutes later and I repeated why I want to cancel my order and they asked me what type of coupon I found. When Chris heard the type of coupon, he didn't seem surprised. He just offered to use the coupon on my already existing order without even seeing it. That tells me that he already knew that I could have gotten a cheaper price, but did not offer it. I'm assuming that the commission here is based on the percentage of the price of what is sold. Not...
Read moreGreat service. I came in to take advantage of a Memorial Day weekend sale I saw on the website. I'm in a wheelchair and when they saw me coming, their greeter ran up to get the door for me. I didn't get her name, but her son, Christopher, came up to help me. He saw that I was wearing an Air Force veteran t-shirt, confirmed I was a veteran, then volunteered that military vets get a 10% discount, even off of sale prices, without me having to ask. He asked me some questions to get a good idea of exactly what I was looking for, and found me the perfect mattress for me. I tried out a couple of others to be sure, but he found what I needed. The sale included a free adjustable base with the mattress, and he even pulled out his tape measure to make sure the base and mattress together would be the right height for me to reach from my wheelchair.
I also asked them about an online only deal I saw on their website where you could get a free Tulo brand pillow (normally $89), and he said that although it was an online sale, he'd match it. And offered me the choice between that and a Purple pillow as they had a few of those left from a prior sale. All in all, a great experience, and Chris and his mom are both great...
