We usually don't eat here because there's so many problems but it was one of the few places opened on Christmas. So we expected it to be crowded, slow, and probably a few issues as well especially with it being the holidays. After being seated we were informed there was no soda at all so available drinks were limited. My husband ordered a lemonade then the waiter walked back up to the table and said they were out. He gave my husband a water then walked away without him asking my husband if he wanted something else. Hot chocolate was available but for $5 you got a mug about the size of an espresso cup that is mainly just whip cream and foam. While there we watched the kitchen set out plate after plate was placed on the window pushing plates closer and closer to the edge. The cooks kept yelling order up and kept adding more plates we were amazed none got pushed off. Then the servers would converge around the window and figure out which plate belong to which server and telling the cooks that they needed to tell them which orders belonged to who. Then there were moments when the food just sat there and the cook didn't say anything and just kept adding plates until the servers finally realized the food was ready. Our food came from the growing pile of plates that was left until our server realized the food waiting there was actually ours. When my husband got his the gravy was a bit chunky and slightly grey and his mashed potatoes was actually shaped like a hot pocket. Part of my daughter's food was dry and hard and the rest of it was hot on top and cold on the bottom. My sister order the cinnamon crepes and let me tell you it looked nothing like the photo. Her's were flat with the toppings and inside more like soup poured on and then allowed to congeal while waiting to be served to us. As my mine the eggs were cold and my hashbrowns not completely cooked or warmed up depending on how they're made. As for the topping on my pancakes it didn't taste like cheesecake but more like eating giant spoonfuls of tart yogurt. Besides the tart part I think my meal was probably the best one served to our whole table. It confirmed why we stopped eating there and probably will never...
Read moreAfter a long 12 hour day at work my friend and I went to IHOP tonight a little after 7pm to use a gift card she was given for Christmas. We were greeted by a sweet young lady (Glasses and KU shirt) who kindly brought us to our table. We ordered, all that good stuff and got our good. Food was ok. Our waitress finally came to our table once to see if "everything ok?" Then didn't give my friend enough time to ask for a refill, nor for her to notice it's been empty for awhile. Luckily the sweet hostess caught our eye and got us refills, pre bused our table and got us our ticket. So time to pay, and the next time we have conversation [kinda] with our waitress. They were having connection issues. [Which trust me, my friend and I know so much about. We weren't in any hurry] Lady in front of us left. She says nothing to us. Nothing said, nothing said... and then, "Tell me you're not paying with a gift card. [Sarcasm]" Well, in fact we are. Now what do we do? I know this frustration. I've worked for the public for so long. But there was no compassion from this lady at all. My friend and I luckily had some cash on us that we were going to use for overage and tip, that we ended up using to pay for our entire meal. Things happen all the time. If your short staffed just talk, make the customers aware. The moment your card machine goes down, let people know. We have no control over our computers, but it's not the customers fault. I hope that our waitress has a better week and wished we knew what we did to make her be so rude to us. I never write reviews, but thought you guys should know. You really disappointed two of the easiest going ladies, who just wanted to enjoy...
Read moreAbsolutely terrible. Do not spend your money here. Food took extremely long to reach the table, drinks never refilled, someone didn't even get pancakes in their pancake combo.
In the end when making payment (as we were told in the beginning the items will all be on one check) we asked to split the one check. We were met with statements of policy that checks cannot be split on Friday and Saturday. Which tells me that the system is capable, but instead the burden will be placed on one party member because of other walkouts that have occured. That sounds like accusal to our party that we will break the law. Even though we were all there, ready and willing to give our money - split the check and pay, we were refused and threatened by security that the check would have to be paid by one member. I don't understand when a system is capable, customers are trying to pay, that outside hired security has to be used to try and show a strong arm and force policy to paying customers.
We were told it was briefed to us that the check would be on one bill at the beginning of our meal - and we were. We were NOT told it couldn't be split. We were also told the policy is posted on the entrance. The "post" is a single piece of paper that was poorly visible taped to the second set of doors - which were propped open at the time so it was NOT seen when entering and even at that, is it expected that customers (again, willing to pay) should have to scan every window of an establishment as not to run into this sort of situation? I don't believe so.
Save yourself the headache. Do not eat at...
