We stayed at the Dogfish Inn for our second wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. The inn is located just off 2nd street in Lewes— a foodie destination at the beach.
Our door was decorated with colorful letter magnets like the ones you used to spell on your mothers fridge. The room utilized space well with pegboards and wardrobe rack, opening up what could have otherwise been cramped and dark. The shower is luxuriously spacious. Toiletries smelled fantastic. Touches like the complimentary growler and treasure map set a tone of “time to grow back down again.” The decor is mid century modern but still has a beach esthetic. We loved the pillows and bedding so much we were looking for tags to google and buy for our own home.
We booked the “All Inn-clusive” package. If you are staying the weekend make sure you take advantage of this $45 dollar experience . I have been on the standard brewery tour and the all inclusive is more intimate, in-depth, and $45 is almost as much as what it costs to Uber to and from the brewery. A Dogfish Van— which based in the quilted leather interior is probably their corporate van— drives you to the brewery, brew pub, then back to the inn. Our visit synched up with a beer release but, because we were a special tour, we didn’t have to fight for bar space. Our guide, Matt, brought us all the samples we could handle while we enjoyed unseasonably pleasant weather outside. When we finished a table was waiting for us at the brewpub.
The staff are not only helpful, but genuinely nice— they make you feel like more of a friend than a guest. Beyond the expected concierge services, they make a cowboy fire in the evening, bringing out s’mores supplies for those who want to snack after a long day of beer sampling.
We will definitely be coming back again and encouraging other off-centered friends to...
Read moreI don't know how to put in words how happy I am I stayed at the dogfish inn. The rooms are modest and modern. The beds are extra comfortable! It really resonates with me how much as a whole the company tried to implement green initiatives to save mother Earth. With that said there is coffee and water available to you at their check in cottage in case you're looking for a coffee maker! The chicory coffee they serve up is fresh and delicious.
I'd also like to take a moment to thank the staff there. Not only was Kerry's recommendations superb, she was friendly and truely a pleasure to meet.
My trip was not ideal for all that the inn has to offer but that's because my birthday is in the middle of winter 😂. There are bikes for rent and the canal is right outside your bedroom!
Jennifer our shuttle driver (which btw talk about an amazing service) was a gem! Can't thank her enough for the lunch suggestion and the shuttle!
The fireside talk was also truly something that makes dogfish - dogfish. Sam could stay home and collect a paycheck but he goes out of his way to talk to everyone. The focus on community building is seen throughout the company and it warms my heart. That and the beer is off centered good.
Thanks for making...

We had the most incredible stay at the Dogfish Inn! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome—they were not only friendly and accommodating, but also full of great local tips for things to do and places to go that weren’t packed with people. It made exploring the area feel a little more personal and off-the-beaten-path, which we loved.
The room itself was a dream—the bed was hands-down the most comfortable hotel bed we’ve ever slept on. After a day of adventures, sinking into those sheets felt like heaven.
As dog parents, we especially appreciated how truly dog-friendly the inn is. Our pup Phoebe had the time of her life—plenty of space to sniff, stretch, and relax. It’s rare to find a place where dogs aren’t just allowed, but genuinely welcomed.
The hangout area beside the inn was another highlight—a peaceful little spot to unwind, sip a drink, and chat with other guests or just enjoy the quiet. And the s’mores kits? Such a sweet, nostalgic touch. Roasting marshmallows under the stars was the perfect way to end the day.
All in all, the Dogfish Inn felt like a cozy, thoughtful, and fun home away from home. We’re already talking about when we...
