Edie Bees Confection Shop — Local services in Lewes

Oh. Em. Gee. Edie Bee's is one of my favourite places in the world. I cannot visit Lewes without stopping in here. I love gummies and candy, and Edie Bee's has dozens of varieties of gummies. They also have a huge selection of unique candy "fruit slice" flavours! They also sell packaged candies from assorted brands, like Philly's John & Kira's and L.A.'s Sugarfina. (I'm a huge fan of both - bonus.) Their artisanal chocolates from the front case are also amazing. Is this store like the typical "shoreside" candy store with fudge and penny candy? No. It is higher end and a little more expensive. If that's a factor, you've been forewarned. My one critique would be that this layout does not seem to be easy to navigate for someone with a wheelchair/scooter. That doesn't affect me, but I do want to include that just in case! Edie Bees reminds me a bit of Lolli and Pops, if you've ever been to one of those, although it is smaller and does not have the international selection. I am a HUGE fan of dark chocolate and I have been to MANY chocolate shops and tried the dark chocolate they have to offer. None have come close to the quality of chocolate at Edie Bees. It has the shine, snap, and deep chocolate flavor that I usually only get from European chocolate brands. It completely lacked that strange, oily texture that American chocolate often has. I can't speak to the quality of the rest of the chocolate, but a good dark chocolate is hard to come by, so I assume the rest will live up to that standard. I think I went to this candy shop 3 times during my 5 day stay in lewes. Definitely my all time favorite candy store. For starters, the shop is so cute, with buckets of candy piled to the ceiling. I found that all of the candies in the shop were picked expertly. Not so many candies that it got overwhelming, but so many fun ones You don’t always see mixed with classics, as well as a few exotic flavors.
