I’m not a big Breakfast Eater, But I Loved, absolutely Loved Nectar, My Husband and I Were visiting Lewes as an impromptu long Weekend getaway, Originally,We stopped across the street to visit the local bakery, To find an awful, awful, experience, We didn’t even get to order anything there, We Left Before we even could, so, We Walked across the street to Nectar, Thank Goodness We Did, Because We Just found Our Most Favorite Breakfast place In the whole Lewes / Rehoboth Area, The Food was outstanding, simply put, outstanding, We ordered the nice Juices from their Juice menu, They Were both perfect, the Virgin Mary juice and Beauty drink with the Berries and Carrot Were outstanding, The Blueberry Pancakes Were Huge, And The Açaí Berry Bowl was probably the single Best Breakfast dish I ever ate, The Girl at the entrance was very friendly, The Server (Gosh I wish I could remember Her name) Maybe it was Erika? Anyway, She greeted Us with a totally opposite greeting than We got across the street so the local dive bakery’s Loss was their gain and Will continue to always Be Our New Favorite if We get Service like this again, It’s odd, Because if there was one thing I could say about it, While I received great service from Erika and the door greeted, The Rest Of the Staff Didn’t share that same Warm n’ fuzzy feeling, I kind of got a slightly pretentious vibe maybe, and I don’t want to spend this whole great review on How wonderful of A Job Our interactions Were, I just Had this slightly overarching Feeling Like There was an air of pretentiousness maybe that could Be worked on, I snapped a few pictures and was going to write a rave review on my social but decided not to, Because While the food is Amazing, The server was Great (I guess I should add contributing to the “Not leaving with a warm and fuzzy feeling was the Girl cleaning wasn’t real personable and the People in the back while I just snapped a couple pictures quietly unbeknownst and out of the way ...of their really charming decor to then to promote them, I got some really unwelcoming stares) so, I couldn’t Really Justify writing about This wonderful Place that really is Outstanding... and saying You’ve got to go Here because You’ll feel all warm and fuzzy and it’s fabulous and all that, Because You May not, If you want Great Food, Truly Great, Great Food, fair prices, Possibly a warm Welcome and Great service, You’ll Be glad you Went (I am only writing this review as I am writing other reviews now more for myself to remember where I have Visited and Where I Haven’t,Since You can see Your Own Reviews,I will remember this as The Happiest Food Experience, Very Friendly Welcome,And Will Return for sure, I just know going in,it’s not the most Personable Place maybe,or it’s Where We come from in Pennsylvania That’s kind of what you kind of grow to expect a little),Personality of this place was a 3-or-4 Star, while the Food was definitely a Five!
Read the description of the Açaí bowl,Because it’s served cold, If You’re ok with that, it, like My experience with it may Just Be one of the most memorable things You’ll ever Have
When it comes to The Food,I guess if like the More Positive Tone or More Welcoming tone of the people, The only thing about the food,The sweet potato hash, It came out cold and soggy in appearance,Oddly enough, the Other flavors contributed to a Really Well exceedingly happy experience, Because with something like that, You’re Happy they tried something different and adventurous,But I even saw them cook it, through the long flat window in the dining room I saw it sit on The flat top for a few minutes, I have no idea how it came to the table cold and Kind of “Limp” But they did, the onions and peppers with it were amazing and Most other places would probably have an up charge for what’s standard Here, the Blueberry syrup was good, Very Good in fact,The pancakes are above and beyond whatever expectations you’ll have for pancakes, they deserve an overall job Well done, I’m glad to give them five stars Because of their good, hard working people & Very...
Read moreHad a terrible experience first time coming back after pandemic. It's a combination of service and changes in the menu and decorations.
With regards to decorations, the owner removed boho french province style and now it looks more like a high school Art exhibit with amateur artwork replacing beautiful Birch stumps on the wall.
A glamorous looking boy at the register was busy looking glamorous and provided zero customer service, repeatedly bossing me around. The regular lounge area where we usually sit was empty because it was about 40 minutes before the closing time and that's where we wanted to sit. The boy repeatedly told us that we should take out the drinks or sit at the table, although an older gentleman told us to order the drinks at the bar and sit in the lounge. The younger boys tone was completely unacceptable. Moreover I heard him speaking very loudly to a waitress in her 60s with short blonde hair that he told us and we didn't listen that we need to get a table (we left a 20 percent tip for self service, in case you were wondering).
When I confronted them both about discussing me in a third person, they bluntly lied to me that they were talking about another customer.
Menu had been cut down significantly. All my favorite dishes other than cauliflower steak have been removed.
Lastly, 6 juices took 40 minutes to make. Another younger boy who was serving the last two juices literally shoved his armpit into one of my son's face while he was handing the drink to my other son.
Horrible horrible horrible experience from start to finish. Ruined birthday for...
Read moreWould give zero stars if I could. I have been going to this place for 5+ years that started as a tradition with my family as my mom knew the original owner, new ownership is incredibly unprofessional. A few months ago we were seated at a table by the door, we were given a check with a code to pay by phone because they were very busy and the service was slow that day we decided to use the app - when we realized we had to download and set up and account we opted to leave cash. On my next visit I sat at the bar and was approached by the new owner who loudly accused me of dining and dashing on our last visit - I explained to her we left cash and she apologized and left. This left a bad taste in my mouth, but a close friend of mine knows the new owner well and I’ve been coming for a very long time and came twice more after this - on our third trip back our waiter Simi (whom I’ve had many times) also LOUDLY accused us of dining and dashing during the visit in question at the end of our meal. We made sure we directly handed him the cash this time, and told him we would not be returning and the way they handled the entire situation was very unprofessional. Maybe they should also consider installing cameras so they know who to blame next time. I can think of a dozen other ways they could have approached this situation- it really is a shame when an establishment that you’ve been a patron of for half a decade accuses you of petty theft on a bill of under $40. I considered asking to speak with a manager but since we were given the same treatment by the owner, I didn’t really...
