At first this place seems really nice. Our first impression was 5 stars. Staff was so nice and it was refreshing. But the little things just started to add up. I’ll start with the positives.
This hotel is near everything. You’ll be able to get to anything in half an hour and most things in way less. The rooms are pretty clean and spacious. The water pressure is almost TOO hard. But it was nice. The indoor pool area was pretty great as well. Main attraction was the staffs friendliness. Park was always plenty and close by.
Now the negatives. The pool was oddly foggy. Like we dropped a yellow dinosaur and I couldn’t find it from outside the pool. We never did find it. The breakfast was a joke. Only 2 hours to get down and get it. And if you miss at all, there is no buffer. Same with coffee. No free coffee at 9:20am? Really? I know you want to charge us to make us a coffee but this is common hotel basics. Free coffee as I head out for my day. The room. No microwaves? You literally sell ramen and other microwaved items at the front desk and expect me to heat and eat in the lobby? Nope. There was also the expected ice bucket and clear plastic cups for water. The bag that holds the ice was smaller than the bucket! And the cups were not individually wrapped. They were naked and just sitting on a cubby under the TV. Needless to say we didn’t use them. Gross. The bathrooms are uncomfortably small. This is just poor room layout. We have 10 feet of counter space to wash our hands? But only a few inches to shimmy in to the bathroom and close the door. I actually smashed my toe on the door opening it and cracked the nail about 1/3 down. It hurt. A lot. The beds are tiny. Who wants two full beds? No side tables on the outsides of the end. Or outlets. They also have this really cool panel on the outside of the TV stand that lets you hook up a console or computer to the tv with ease!! As an avid video game player I was excited. It didn’t work. At all. The internet is also a problem. Even though I had 3 bars the hotel seemed to be blocking my service. But the WiFi was a general access WiFi that seems to be a VPN?! Our electronic devices didn’t like that at all. My Xbox wouldn’t even find the WiFi so even after hooking it up to the tv directly, it didn’t work. The internet speed was fine though. The noise was a problem as well. The walls are so thin. The water when you shower sounds like someone is vacuuming next door. We had a group right outside or door talking and laughing on a Thursday until 1am even though the hotel has “quiet hours”. The hotel is so understaffed that at 8pm I have to go downstairs to her more towels myself because the front desk employee is the only employee there? I saw another guy in the office…I can’t imagine how ordering drinks or food would have gone. We didn’t try it. I just feel like the comfort level was not right for the price. I wouldn’t have complained if the price was under $100/night. I expected more. Also ice is on floor 3 and 5. It’s not written anywhere. I had to find it. Also at 10am as people are trying to check out, one of the two luggage racks are being used by staff to move...
Read morethe AC was not working properly. Our room was hot for most of our stay. A gentleman did offer us a fan which we appreciated. A man came and full on yelled at us to not have food or drinks and we said we'll get rid of it and he kept screaming "NOW". Everyone in the pool room was staring and it was completely humiliating. It was inhumane to speak to someone like that. While walking out, I noticed another family had Chick Fil a bags of food so I went to the front desk where that man was standing in front of the counter and Patricia (spelled differently) was behind the counter and told them if they're going to kick us out, they need to kick out the other people as well. That man went walking to the pool area. Later that night, after coming back from dining out, we spoke to 2 other front desk workers, a gentleman and a lady and informed them of what happened and told them that is not how to speak to guest. After they inquired a description of the man that yelled, they informed us he was NOT an employee but someone who resides in the hotel. They informed us he should not have spoken to us at all or told us what to do. They informed us that Patricia should not have allowed that. They apologized and offered complementary drinks and snacks which we declined. Upon checking out, I noticed Patricia and asked her why would she allow someone that is not an employee do her job for her and interrupt other guest. She stated she was too busy and saw nothing wrong with asking the man who wasn't an employee to remove us from the pool. Which is absolutely ridiculous to me and can also be a liability on the hotel. I told her she was wrong and she should not have allowed other guest to speak to us like that. Once again she stated that since she didnt know he was going to yell, that she felt it was okay for him to do an employee's job for her. We were humiliated and belittled and she didn't feel the slightest remorse to apologize. Her coworker apologized for her. I have a bunch of bed bug bites on my arms, legs and back. I have been scratching like crazy! The pool was way over capacity having over 30 children and adults 2 days we tried to enjoy the pool. We felt like we couldn't enjoy a swim in those unsafe swimming environments!
This was THE WORST hotel experience I have ever had. I am highly disappointed and disgusted...
Read moreFirst, I get to my room and find spots on the carpeting and the arm of the sofa is so gross that you don't want to touch it. Then I call the front desk and ask for housekeeping to bring a new pillow case because there are spots on it, and they tell me there is no housekeeping staff so I'll have to come down to the front desk. No housekeeping at just after 5 pm! Then I try to turn on my tv and all it does is display "no signal". The front desk clerk doesn't know what to do and says maintenance isn't on right now. So I ask her to send maintenance to my room in the morning, and she tells me that tomorrow is his day off. So, no maintenance today or tomorrow? what? They only have one maintenance person?||So I go down stairs to get dinner and, of course, no food because there is no one to cook it. There's no kitchen staff, and the front desk clerk is on alone manning the front desk and tending bar. The Hyatt website says that there's a full menu till 11pm and a limited menu 24hrs. That's a total lie. Front desk says normally there is food till 9pm, but only if more than one person is on at the front desk because they make the food.||So after that I decide to go swimming, since I have no tv. Big mistake! The pool is awful. There's algae growing on the steps and I got in the shallow end and the water was so murky that couldn't see my own feet. I immediately got out fearing that the pool is a health hazard. Guess I shouldn't have been surprised, since they have no one to maintain the pool.||When I checked out I complained that I never had tv and that the pool was disgusting, and the front desk clerk said that only the manager could compensate me for my bad experience, but he's out of town. I asked to speak to the assistant manager and she says that there isn't one. This hotel has only one employee, and there job is just to take your money. If you want anything after that, forget about it.||So, no housekeeping, no TV, no food, and a pool that's scary. As far as I can figure they try to run this entire 6 or 7 story hotel with one front desk clerk and no other staff. If it hadn't been on my corporate card I would have disputed the charge. Hyatt should revoke their franchise, this place...
