Been here many times before, however the past two times have not been the same experience as before, service is not as good nor friendly as it used to be. This is a pretty large bar with seating all around but for some strange reason they do not service the sides according to the staff they only service the main bar sides and not the smaller side ends, they will stare at you from the other end as you try and wave them down for a drink finally when they do come down they tell you they don't service that side of the bar and if you want a drink you must go to the other crowded sides and try again to get their attention in order to order, to me this seemed unreal why not want to service the whole bar and make money? we waited about 20 minutes before we were told the sides do not get serviced then when we finally made it up to the bar on the crowded sections we were told we would not get serviced unless we had a wristband. This was a total waist of time spent more than a half hour trying to get service for nothing, many bar tenders saw us waiting for drinks never said anything about a wristband and most clients at the bar did not have one on, instead we headed to another bar which had better attention to...
Read moreI only gave it two stars and not one because the place is beautiful. It’s right by the beach with sand and palm trees, a very tropical vibe. However, the service is ridiculously slow and the bartender is not friendly. I don’t want to say he was rude but he cut me off when we asked for a frozen drink like I was supposed to know they weren’t available even though it’s on their menu posted ON the bar. They should update that and their prices online because they’re off. Also, how does it take more than 15 minutes to serve a beer and a drink when there are only 6 other customers? After that first round we waited half an hour expecting to ask for another and the bartender only came by to pick up the checkbook, didn’t ask if we wanted anything else. We had to ask if we could order more drinks and he said he would come around just to go back to customers that he had already taken care of and had drinks while we were empty. I bartend as well and I know you could be in the weeds at times but not with 6 people at the bar. They need to hire someone else because that bartender literally drags his feet and walk around looking down at the floor as if he purposely wants to ignore requests. That place is...
Read moreWorst bar I've ever been to, and a RIPOFF! $20 for a Heineken and a tiny mojito, which seemed to be mostly ice and almost no alcohol. That was after waiting in a line for almost 20 minutes on a Sunday in the off-season.
Oh, and if things couldn't get any worse, we got screamed at by a hotel employee at the beach access ramp when we tried to walk back to our place on the beach - becuase we "weren't hotel guests". She yelled at me and my elderly father to go back up the ramp then around to the next public ramp, adding about a quarter mile of walking (even though they let us walk UP the ramp to get to the bar). She claimed it was a "private beach" that they owned and we could not even walk across - although, it was later confirmed with security that they only "rent certain parts of the beach on certain dates". Don't worry we will be following up with the city, et al. on this one!
This is probably the most disgraceful example of customer service I've ever seen. We won't ever visit Long Branch again, let alone this...
