What a wonderful wonderful place to bring your loved ones and enjoy a meal around the table. The only that was better than the food was our server Jaden. Jaden’s attentiveness throughout the meal was remarkable. He took the time to introduce himself and asked if it was our first visit, showing a genuine interest in our experience. When he discovered it was our first time, he eagerly recommended some of the restaurant’s signature dishes, which turned out to be spot-on suggestions. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and her descriptions of the dishes were both mouth-watering and informative.
One of the most commendable aspects of Jaden’s service was his impeccable timing. He checked in with us regularly to ensure we had everything we needed, but never hovered or interrupted our conversations. Our drinks were refilled promptly, and the courses arrived at a perfect pace, allowing us to enjoy each dish without feeling rushed or neglected.
Jaden’s recommendations truly enhanced our dining experience. We opted for the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes & the Huevos Rancheros, both of which were divine. His detailed descriptions helped us make our choices, and it was evident that he had a deep understanding and appreciation of the menu. He even suggested a delightful lemonade that paired wonderfully with our meal.
Jaden went above and beyond by accommodating special requests and dietary restrictions with ease. One of our party members has a gluten intolerance, and Jaden ensured that their meal was prepared accordingly, checking with the kitchen and confirming the details with us. His proactive approach and attention to detail were greatly appreciated.
In conclusion, Jaden’s exceptional service transformed our brunch into a memorable experience. His warm hospitality, attentiveness, and expert knowledge of the menu were truly commendable. Jaden is a shining example of what excellent service should be, and we will undoubtedly return to Turning Point, eagerly looking forward to being served by him AND HIM ONLY again. If you’re seeking a brunch spot where the service is as delightful as the food, look no further than Turning Point in Pier Village LB.NJ and be sure to...
Read moreWe always loved turning point and have been going for years . We loved to come to the beach and introduce our friends and family to our favorite restaurant. I was sooo sadden by the experience my mother and I received on our visit this Sunday. As we parked our car I added our name to the waitlist knowing there was always a wait. It said it would be 15 minutes. We gave our name at the counter as directed by text. Once the hostess told us we would get a text when the table was ready we waited on the side since it wouldn't be too long.
A couple behind us who was interracial was also told to wait for a text. For context, you should know my mom and I are of mixed race. Around 8 minutes after us we saw a white couple approach and get seated right away. I assumed they were notified that their table was ready which made sense. After we waited a total of 20 minutes we see this other white couple come in and ask for a table for two, the hostess proceeded to walk them right in without question or waiting. Then another white couple came in and were also seated immediately. It was so blatant that we approached the hostess to ask why this is happening and she couldn't respond. She just sat us immediately, there were so many open tables around us it was clear that this was intentional and racist. As we sat there I felt so hurt, disgusted and shocked. Has it always been this way, was I just naive to this? As we sat for a while and ordered food reluctantly we noticed the couple behind us who was also told to wait 15 minutes waiting patiently by the door. We saw the same exact thing happen to them in which another pair that came in after them were seated immediately. My mom couldn't take it and had to let them know what was happening.
We can never return to a restaurant that exhibits such overt racism. Its sad that this is...
Read moreI went in for lunch with a small group. We had a wait of about 20-30 minutes, but they don't take your number or give you a buzzer, so you have to stick it out for the wait.
I ordered the Pesto Skillet off the healthier menu. I didn't expect the pesto flavor to be exploding due to it being the healthier menu and pesto being pretty fatty, and that is what I got. The skillet was somewhat green, but that's about all you could get of pesto. What's worse was the overload of onions. I'm a big fan of onions, but after a few bites, I could not take eating anymore without starting to remove the vast majority of the onions. By the time I was done, the onion pile was scary big; how could they think that was a balanced dish?
My wife also did not enjoy her dish, but the rest of the group was satisfied, but not thrilled. We were also forgotten about on a coffee refill, but the waitress made up for it by comp'ing a coffee to go.
Additionally, people seem to come as they are into this restaurant, including wearing their bathing suits into the restaurant and leaving sand around. However, it's hard to judge the restaurant for that, as this seems like common practice in this area.
Service was alright, the food was unimpressive, the wait time was not worth it, and the prices were more than I would want for a sub-par meal. I won't...
