I've seen many reviews online bad talking this motel. Honestly speaking I needed something cheap and somewhere I could stay for 3 nights without breaking the bank. I was scared at first of what my experience would be, so I came prepared with the knowledge of the good and bad reviews of this place. Needless to say I was very much impressed.
My 5 yr old son and I drove from Nevada- after several hours of driving. I was super tired and the manager, (though check in hour is at 1PM and we got there around 9AM) put us in a temporary room so we could rest until our room was finished being cleaned. I so much appreciated this as my little one and I needed the sleep. As soon as our room was ready, he gave us our key and showed us to our room. A few minutes after getting settled, I saw the housekeeper changing the bed sheets from the room we napped in and saw her cleaning it again. I was very impressed.
The manager was super accommodating. Room is spacious and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable and linens smelled clean. (No, there were no sign of any bed bugs, believe me, that was the first thing I checked from being paranoid about the other negative posts). Night stands with lamps, plenty of wall outlets, big TV (I won't complain about the few channels there are to watch bc we didn't even watch tv) bathroom was clean.
The soap and shampoo weren't enough to cover my 3 night stay and I hate asking for more product Bc I have long thick hair, so I just bought a travel sized shampoo and conditioner from the 99 cent store. (Conveniently minutes away)
The area is nice and quiet (though there is some renovations being done to the front office, so it gets a little noisy from that, but didn't bother us none). Very low key motel away from downtown, but still so close.
Near plazas where shopping needs are met, eateries, close to downtown, Santa Monica Pier, etc.
I have to say that I loved staying at this motel. I didn't expect to see anything 1st class with the location and prices, but I would definitely stay here again.
THANK YOU...
Read moreFor LA, Crenshaw Inn is a SUPERB value! We booked three rooms for five performers in town for a show and overall the rooms were clean, very comfortable, quiet, and had the basics.
It’s Inglewood location looks a bit sketchy as an outsider when you first arrive; but no one ever felt unsafe nor was bothered by any guests or area residents. In fact, people passing by as we were outside said good morning and we’re friendly enough. Police drove through the enclosed parking area occasionally too adding that little extra slice of there being “eyes on” the area.
Looking thru other reviews and some of the criticisms are accurate (ie, water in the fridge); but understandably the hotel unplugs them when not in use I imagine to save on electricity- every bit helps especially in this economy. The couple who run everything were very sweet, accommodating and helpful.
There’s a laundromat across the street, and a liquor store with libations, soft drinks and snacks on an adjacent corner convenient for a quick run. The hotel is also about 2 miles from proper shopping plazas in each direction for other necessities as needed.
We’re there some hiccups; some hardware is “old” and could use a replacement; dent in the microwave- yes, sure; Wi-Fi isn’t super high-speed; It’s not a luxury resort nor does it claim to be either.
Everything though was clean and functioned, we were overall very comfortable and rested well, and again for the price we were pleasantly surprised and super satisfied. As a room to lay in at night and base from as you explore greater LA- it’s absolutely perfect.
So as far as “motels” go- great value and experience and we HIGLY...
Read moreI normally don’t leave reviews but this had to be done. I confirmed my booking through Expedia for the night because I had a flight in a few hours and wanted to freshen up and possibly get a nap before flying again. ||||The first red flag was that they lied stating the offer shuttle services through Expedia, which they don’t. Upon arrival we called and no one ever picked up the phone. Until we got to the motel where the owner was very unprofessional, literally throwing down a room key and going back to whatever he was doing. (sleeping) ||||The room was another red flag. They had holes in the walls that were filled with plastic bags/ paper napkins. The room smelt marijuana, mixed with cigarette and bad decisions. Moving on to the bathroom , red flag number 3. The towels that were supposed to be white had morphed into a special kind of brown. Just down right disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!! I obviously did not shower with it. ||||The outside of the motel was dark as night and felt very unsafe. Not the vibe that was given on Expedia’s website. ||||The WiFi was horrendous!!! I had to stand on the bed just to get a proper connection to order a Uber to get out of this dump that’s called a motel. ||||Overall if I had the option to give this place a 0 star I would without hesitation. I’m just glad I got out of there unscathed. ||||I would never recommend this place to any living...
