Update we ended up staying here our whole entire stay of 5 days and I have to say the owners are very nice. Housekeeping is done correctly and they always ask first if we need it to not disturb our things. I had a great stay and hope my next two nights will be just as good.
I want to give this place zero stars just because of the customer service we received when he checked in was beyond unsatisfactory. We pre-booked our room online and needed to slip costs between two guests. Well the kid behind the window did not know what the hell he was doing. And was on the phone asking questions to someone on how to do everything. We stood out in the cold for almost thirty minutes. Then he kept emphasizing on no smoking in the room and only two people in the room. Like OK we got it the first time. It's just two female cousins traveling home to visit.
He kept doing weird things with our debit cards that made me uncomfortable and quite frankly mad as hell. He kept sliding it and then typed it in twice. And he tried photo copying my cousins until I yelled at him what was he doing. He said he was taking a copy of the ID and I'm like no her 🆔 is right here you have your debit card in your hand.
But we got room 108 it's separated from the main building. And a parking space right in front. I love love that because I don't trust the neighborhood lol. The room is Huge! Dorm style fridge and microwave. Bathroom was nice and clean. Toilet seat had some stuff on it but I clean before sitting anyways. And NO SOAP in this place. Not one bar provided and toilet paper was almost gone. Did not get a fresh roll.
TV is nice, brand new wall mounted. A full size dinning table and counter and cabinate space for food.
I am really enjoying our...
Read moreFull 5 stars here, you read it right. The area is a bit sketchy but the people are nice here. The motel itself is nice and clean with a fridge and microwave inside and there is limited parking here. There is parking in the back area which looks kinda scary as there is barbed wire running along the top of the wall. Felt safe still as I knew nobody was coming over the wall to mess with the cars. Peoples homes are covered in bars all across the windows too but that is the nature of the neighborhood. Life is what you make it, walk with a good vibe and nobody bothers you. You can find bad things/people anywhere just as you can find the good. I love the area, culture and people. Great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again when I am back in my old stomping grounds. Crenshaw Blvd was under construction when we were there in July but should be done by now. Convenience store just on the corner less than 2 minutes walking from the...
Read moreThere's no doubt this is a "challenged" part of town. Lots of high fences, steel grates, and occasional barbed wire around apartment complexes and businesses. Having said that, I was impressed with this motel. The manager who checked me in was pleasant and businesslike. The building and grounds are "vintage" but well maintained. My room was well appointed- a nicely remodeled bathroom, wood/parquet flooring, newer TV, new air conditioning unit. The room had a microwave, coffee pot, iron and ironing board and refrigerator. The door locks were card key equipped and were of good quality. Bottom line is that this is basic overnight accommodations at a budget price- nothing fancy, but nothing to complain about. Frankly I admire business owners like this who have enough self respect to make a strong effort to run a respectable business in a tough environment. They deserve your consideration...
