Lettuce Feast — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I have supported Lettuce Feast and have tried to continue doing so. On Thursday I went to the Culver City location, talked to the owner and wanted to order the mushrooms but was told that they went bad. I asked when they would have the mushroom and biscuits. He told me that they would have them in North Hollywood on Sunday.

Drove an hour today and arrived 20 min before they opened and waited. Truck opened late which was fine, we waited. When he finally came out of the truck he said we were early (website says 11Am) and told us that he doesn’t actually turn the fryers on until 11 and we would have to wait until 11:30am. We said that was fine, still wanting to support. Then he said they didn’t have the mushrooms today. I reminded him of our conversation on Thursday and that we drove an hour because he said they would have them. He never once apologized and went on a rant.

When he exited the truck, we were shocked by how dirty it was inside. The owners clothes were filthy. Like beyond filthy. I have been here before but had never seen inside the truck until this time.

The attitude of the owner was poor with nothing but excuses. It is a shame because I love to support black owned business but with the food safety concerns and the owners response, I can no longer support...

The food was ok-good. Nashville sandwich, good. Chicken tenders, not good. The fries were ok. The main reason I’m giving them a low review is because we ordered at 2:40 for pick up at 3:20pm. When we arrived at 3:20 our food wasn’t ready yet, which wasn’t a big deal, but it took them an extra 20 minutes to finally finish our order. While we were waiting I saw a girl with long, frizzy, orange hair, and no hair net bending over the line and her hair going all over the food. I also saw a dirty rag on the prep line. A guy was using the rag to wipe things down with and then immediately touching our food. Overall it just was not a clean food truck (we went to food truck #2). When we finally got our order, it was the wrong order 🤦🏽‍♂️. He gave our order to the wrong person, and vice versa. I get that people make mistakes but come on! Slow, dirty, and incorrect order!?! Also the price is on the higher end. $45 before tip and tax for 2 sandwiches and a 4 piece tender. (They did come with fries and a drink, no diet sodas though). When we brought back our food the cashier who made the mistake did apologize and remade the food. He told us and the other group to keep the food and maybe give to a homeless person, which was kind...

Great vegan Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. Seems so much like real chicken don't know how they do it.

Hot Chicken is a HOT commodity lately, so when you order a chicken sandwich, you know, people are gonna be chasing after you for it, which is where the Lettuce Feast dishware comes in.

They don’t give you a paper plate or just hand the sandwich over to you with their bare hands, and nothing covering it. No, no. They not only put the vegan Nashville sandwich into a paper box, but they also wrap it in a little paper diaper for any of the sauce that happens to drip out.

Diapers are great for catching drippings, I should know...not because I wear a diaper or anything...oh my god, did it sound like I wear a diaper?! I don’t. Really, you have to believe me, I don’t. But I know that diapers are good at catching drippings because I looked it up on the internet. So the paper diaper that they wrap around the chicken sandwich works just as well!

They give you the box and off you go, meters ahead of anyone who might be chasing you to try to snag the sandwich from your hungry hands.
