Horror Vibes Coffee — Restaurant in Los Angeles

Rude coffee shop who doesn’t carry decaf and lied to my face. That doesn’t know the difference between 1/2 caff and only doing one shot in a grande drink when it calls for 2. Due to Doctor recommendations and breastfeeding I limit my caffeine. Barista says they don’t have decaf but can do just one shot. I explained the ratio would be off on milk and coffee because they don’t offer anything smaller than a medium. They couldn’t understand why the ratio would be off and wouldn’t charge me less for the missing shot in a medium(their recipe on the menu states 2 shots come in a medium latte). Here the kicker a manger(?) walks over and says oh we have 1/2 caff and the barista has a weird look because she know I don’t want one shot and that they really don’t have 1/2 caff. They talk in a huddle And then hand me a cup that says 1 shot on it. I explained this just tastes bad and way too sweet, like watered down pumpkin milk and I’m told we’ll it has 1/2 the caffeine compared to the menu so it’s half caff. No, 1/2 caff is regular and decaf ground mixed and would still have 2 shots. But I was sure charged for 2 shots. Horrible rushed service, over priced, will never come back and yes it is super ridiculous how long this took to explain.

Response to shops reply: I do not consider 7 one star reviews in 7 years a lot. If anything it proves it takes either fantastic or awful service to warrant a review and this was awful. Regardless I didn’t like the taste and you didn’t care. I didn’t ask for a free extra shot. Your drinks come with 2 standard and you only gave me 1 but charged me full price for 2. The issue is you lied and called it half caff, right after the barista was honest and said no we don’t carry decaf. I replied I’d rather order something else and was looking at the menu. You can’t argue the facts, what I was served was not half caff. I was very polite to the barista and even tipped her before receiving my “milk” this review was for the manger who lied to my face. I saw their expression and the barista was not comfortable when it was called half caff. Also who doesn’t carry decaf in 2022? This response endorsers the arrogance...

I've been to this place twice. I absolutely love the atmosphere and vibes of this place. You have to check this place out if you love horror or anything horror related. The atmosphere of the location is 100% the best thing about horror vibes coffee (in my opinion).... however, unfortunately everything else about the place is a little lackluster. First off, the service was a little subpar. My girlfriend and I both waited in line (I wanted to purchase a shirt and she was purchasing drinks). We both had to wait in the front of the line at an empty register for about a minute or two because the employees kept talking to each other and ignoring us for a bit. With my girlfriend the employees were distracted with a guy who walked in with a chucky and Tiffany doll. All the employees stopped what they were doing to talk to the guy and take pictures of the doll. They held up the line for a few minutes. Then when I went to try and purchase something the employees were all talking to each other. They clearly saw me, but they decided to ignore me for a few minutes to finish talking. Honestly, kind of frustrating. Secondly, the drink flavors are extremely bitter. Even the sweetest ones. I had the candyman, which is labeled as the sweetest drink on the signature menu, and it was extremely bitter. My girlfriend had the crystal lake chai, and that drink was much better. The first time I went I had the Gordy's home and it was pretty good, but again, very bitter. It seems like none of the flavors that are mentioned on the menu really come through when you drink the beverages. All in all though, I'd say you should give it a try. Maybe the two times I went it was just a little off, or maybe their drinks are intentionally more bitter. Regardless, just be prepared to add sugar or some kind of sweetener to your drink. Taste will really depend on what you ordered. I think their ice coffee that I’ve tried: annabelle, reaper’s mercy, nightmare on maple st, are very watered down. Reaper’s mercy in particular, i thought would taste really strong because it was cold brew + espresso, but actually tasted like iced water + milk + vanilla syrup.

I do have some favorites tho: hot annabelle or hot pistachio latte.

Service is always kind of slow. There is usually only one person working and they’re always busy doing something. And they didn’t really prioritize the order. So several times i came in, waited for some time in front of the line until a line form behind me. They would then take all the orders at the same time, and make the drinks based on which ones are easiest to make first. Which sometimes mean waiting for even longer compared to people that come after me.

So I usually don’t choose this place because the wait time is unpredictable especially if I need to rush for a morning coffee run before work. But i sometimes still go because they do have some...
