Someone just asked me "what did you like about the Rochester House"? I answered "Absolutely NOTHING!!" And that is the truth. That place was a nightmare for myself and several others who lived in these cockroach infested, unsanitary, smelly, hugely-bed bug infested old dumps of several dwellings posted around the mediocre parts of Los Angeles California. The bed bugs were so terribly bad and I was bitten hundreds of times during my two-week stay at Rochester. I was eventually taken to California Hospital for my severely bitten body where several of the bed bug bites became infected and many even became boils which needed to be surgically removed at the hospital. After my long surgery I went back to Rochester and stayed there about 2 or 3 nights before I became very ill with high fever and oozing surgery sites. I was taken by ambulance back to the hospital where I was treated for 9 days for severe infections and other related issues. I was in such bad pain they had me on Dillauded the entire hospital stay. Rochester was very aware of the bed bugs and my condition from the bugs. When I returned again to Rochester, the very first thing they did was give me a drug test. Well, F DUH!! I tested positive for opiates and was immediately kicked out of Rochester. Well I was sick, weak and drowsy from the hospital and asked to stay a few more days til I could find other housing. I was denied and made to leave right there. The staff there was unprofessional and prejudice. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to go there for services. That place was junky, you could smell the roaches, and staff didn't give a damn about my health and well-being. That place sucked. My belongings were stolen after i was forced to leave. Plus lots of other little things that just made that place the worst place on earth. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING TO ROCHESTER FOR TREATMENT. ...
Read moreI was there twice. At Beginning and End of my Vacation. the Office is a bit Hopeless. When i paid i had to wait for Ages for the Change and Recipe. Luckily i had a Printout of my Booking as the Link between Online Booking and Office doesnt works well. Staying there is OK. Rooms are clean and most Guest well behaving. Breakfast is served next to Swimming Pool and is excellent. (My Compliment to the Chef) Staff is also OK. The second Time i was in an outhouse half a Mile away. Long Walk to Breakfast and hard to get warm Shower if you not first at Morning. Conclusion: Give it a Try. It gives from many 5 Stars and other 1 Star. If you stay at the Base its 4,i rekon. outhouse is 1 or 2 Breakfast is 5 Staff is,... Dont know. I give 4 by counting Breakfast and First Stay, but ignoring second Stay, due to long walk for Breakfast and cold Shower as before me stood one 1 Hour in the Bath, Ahh,Yes. I took some Pics from "Hollywood " Sign on the Hills, and 2 Roads away is a Music Studio,in Case that...
Read moreIt was a good place to stay. Rooms were decent and comfy. We were given the wrong room at night and changed the next day. There should be more administrative staff for late night check in. That room had lots of ants but the one we were supposed to stay in was clean. The pool and the mansion with its history made it a nice place to stay. Owner was also friendly. Breakfast could have been improved. It was just cereal and pancakes everyday and if we were slightly late, it would be all finished. Some days were bacon/sausage but for those who don't eat it, there weren't many options. There were also no toiletries in the bathroom. I understand it's hostel and not a hotel, but I had paid for a private room and bathroom which was almost hotel price, so at least some soap would be appreciated. Location was also a bit far from the metro and car is required for late night travel, as it's not the safest area. Overall, it was okay for the price but could have been a...
