Golden West Manor Motel — Hotel in Los Angeles

Parking is very limited and a lot of the time you have to park on the street.||2. They have actual keys not card readers to the room which they make you give a $10.00 cash only deposit before they will even give you a key.||3. Staff was very rude and had the mentality of the customer is always wrong.||4. Once I entered the room I wanted to leave the minute I walked in. It was small, very uninviting, and not well kept. There was dust behind the furniture. The rug was old and bunched up in places on the floor so if you are not careful you can easily trip on it. There are only two power outlets in the entire room and none of them are near any tables. This was a minor concern for me since I had no place to set my phone to charge without it being on the end of the bed, in the window where everyone can see it, on the floor where it could get stepped on, or next the sink were it could get wet. There was a table and two chairs in the room but there was no phone, phone book, bible, if you care about that, no shampoo, no conditioner, two bars of soap, one plastic glass, two towels, one wash cloth, and one small garbage can in the bathroom. The main light to the room was burnt out and the shower is so counter intuitive that needs instructions on how to operate it. The bed was hard as a rock but the pillows were good. Had a flat screen tv but I did not use it.||5. It was noisy as hell! For the entire three days I stayed there was loud bangs, pops, and booms. Some of them were fourth of July fireworks surrounding the whole hotel and some I am not sure what they were since they were happening 24hrs as day.||6. No vending machines or ice machines.||7. Very shady neighborhood. I was terrified to go out during the day and night because I was afraid someone would mug me, steal my car, or shoot me. ||8. I heard a few screaming arguments. ||9. I tried to order pizza but one place would not deliver to where I was, one did not pick up their phone so I could ask if they delivered, and a third one I called would not deliver unless I purchased a minimum of $20.00 and in addition was very rude with the same mentally as the hotel staff. All these pizza places were local so I feel it reflects on the area. ||10. A lot of police and paramedics in the area. ||||I am not sure why this hotel had a good reviews or even why it has two stars. When I did my research it seemed to be a decent hotel so I paid a gross amount of money expecting it to be decent. I was completely ripped off and I only stayed the whole three days because I did not think I would get my money back if I checked out early. This place was a nightmare and the worse part of my trip. This motel is way far from being even a one star standard. We were fooled by the good ratings that other travelers has given them.|||Below are few of the Cons:||- The neighborhood is totally unsafe. Not for a male so what about if you have your wife with you..? The people were looking at us and wondering, "are we really gonna stay in this area?!" ||- The staff are not what you expect. They have no clue about hotel industry. All what they care about is how to make money.||- The room and its furniture needs a big time refurbishment.. And I mean it! ||- No parking if you come late.||- The restaurants refused to deliver food to this area.|||Honestly, I would recommend for the tourism inspectors to look into what we wrote about this property. I give them 4 stars. For being clean. Fresh clean towels every day. Ready to help you any time you need it. I can understand the 10.00 dollar fee for the key. If persons leave with them. And not turning them in. I was glad to pay the 10. I can live with just WiFi and tv. The best thing about this place is the price great. I was in a binde when I got to Hollywood, I had reservations at another motel close to where I was going, I called to make sure I was ok on my room for a week they said yes I showed up and he say we have no room for big person.
