So we kind of happened upon this place. When we stopped at the gas station next door and I saw that they had axe throwing. Knowing that we needed to kill time before check in for our hotel. We came here.
At first we were only interested in just the axe throwing. But manager Brandon stated they had a combo deal and we could do a little bit of everything. So we decided it sounded good and got that. Best idea ever.
Started with the axe throwing. It being our first time we got set up with a team member to help us. I can't remember his name unfortunately, but he was great and super through. Asked us how we prefer to throw and continued to help us with our form the entire time. He was so great, honestly I feel like I became a pro in a matter of 30mins lol. Super informative 👌. We did that for about an hr or more. And move on to the VR.
VR is Virtual Reality and was set up with another team member. Again I can't remember his name. Also really friendly and super informative. Talked us through it all. Made sure everything fit to our liking. It was super cool. But very tiring lol. I got a good sweat on. Looking for an exercise this is lowkey a great replacement.
Food smelled amazing. Although we didn't get any. Beer pouring looked amazing too. Again didn't get beer. But we did get sodas and water in bottles lol.
Environment was cool, spacious, and clean. From California so idk when we will be back in Louisville, KY but if we do visit again definitely coming back because of the amazing fun and service we...
Read moreOverdrive was more hype than hip to me. For the exorbitant prices I was expecting a nicer atmosphere but it's tolerable. I participated in the axe throwing activity which could be decent fun with the right group but you have to keep score yourself (which can lead to cheating lol) and you're "operator" has to switch the type of games for you as well. So if they are busy this could cut into your game time when they are helping customers with food and drink services. The staff was extremely nice however Sometimes I felt there engagement was a little "extra". Didn't need the staff interrupting to give lessons after we had a practice round at the start. The VR game was ok but you're dealing with the same scenarios as far as game play, and if you're operator doesn't explain how to use the controls at the start of the game it can cause a lot of time to be wasted. Food is ok but it is expensive. They have a nice selection of beers on tap and a couple of mixed drinks but you have to open a tab and pay by the ounce for your choices. When dealing with the beer be prepared to pay for...
Read moreWe celebrated my husbands birthday last week and had a blast. Our adult kids joined us and it was a surprise party.
Our host JaMeer was incredible - we are so grateful for his help. Some of us were less skilled in the axe throwing than others (it was me I am less skilled!) and JaMeer ensured that I still had a good time and hit the target a few times.
We had a great dinner of pizza and wings, and some pretzel bites: it was all delicious! Although we didn’t partake their beer and drink wall was awesome! You can basically get a card to charge and drink as little or as much as you’d like of each flavor of beer etc. very cool!
We then moved to the racing which was again, very fun. We all had a blast and as my family is very competitive we enjoyed this a lot.
All in all highly recommend. 5/5 stars!
The staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. JaMeer could not have been more helpful and I could not be more grateful for making my husbands birthday night so special.
