AzteCalli Mexican Food & Taqueria — Restaurant in Lynnwood

As a San Diegan, I've had my fair share of Cali burritos. And honestly, most of the ones I've tried up here in Washington haven't quite hit the mark. So, when I stopped by AztecCalli in Lynnwood, I was cautiously optimistic. I'm happy to report that their Cali burrito was a pleasant surprise! It earned a solid 4 out of 5 stars for food. This burrito actually had the correct ingredients and flavor profile – something many other places in the area seem to miss. While it's definitely not the best Cali burrito I've ever had (nothing beats a true San Diego original, in my humble opinion!), it's certainly the best I've found in this area so far. It was packed with juicy carne asada, crispy fries, creamy avocado, and all the right fixings. The service was also excellent, deserving a 4 out of 5 stars. The staff were friendly, efficient, and got my order out quickly, even during a busy lunch rush. As for the atmosphere, I'd give it a 3 out of 5 stars. As expected with a food truck, the "atmosphere" is more about the convenience and casual outdoor dining experience. While there might not be dedicated seating or elaborate decor, the truck itself was clean and well-maintained, and the general vibe was pleasant for a quick stop. A quick note on pricing: the prices aren't cheap, but let's be real, nothing is nowadays! Given the quality of the food, I felt it was a fair trade-off. Overall, if you're a fellow Cali burrito connoisseur in the Lynnwood area who's been disappointed by the local offerings, I recommend giving this food truck a try! For our annual holiday party, we enlisted the services of Aztecalli and we were thoroughly impressed with their performance. The company demonstrated exceptional professionalism and reliability from the initial planning stages through to the execution of the event. The meal planning was easy as they had a really good idea of what we already wanted, and it gave enough variety for all guests. The dishes were well-prepared, with fresh ingredients that were very delicious. The presentation was also noteworthy, adding an elegant touch to our party that we were not expecting. The catering staff was punctual, well-organized, and attentive. They ensured that all aspects of the meal service ran smoothly, from setup to cleanup. Their attention to detail and proactive approach to guest service contributed significantly to the positive experience we had. We also appreciated their flexibility in accommodating special dietary requirements and last-minute adjustments. Overall Aztecalli did a great job and we would hire them again next year if we have our holiday party at Peace of Mind Brewing again and we would recommend...

We saw that they had a great eatting so we wanted to give them a try, but we’re disappointed.

We ordered the Birria quesadilla, the chicken tortta, carne assada fries, and a side of chips and salsa.

First off the prices were a lot more than I was expecting for a taco truck. The prices they charged are more like sit down restaurant prices. Also for a taco truck I was expecting faster service. We were the only ones there and it still took 15 min to receive our food.

When the food arrived we got the 3 birria taco meal instead of the quesadilla, the chicken tortta, and the carne assada fries and the chips and salsa. The chips were extremely stale. Like at least been sitting out for a couple weeks. The chips were also miss matched, like from two different bags of chips. So not authentic at all. The salsa was good though. The torrta was overly bready. Was lacking something. The chicken had good flavor though. The tacos were good, good flavor on the birria but not what we ordered. The assada fries were good fries a little limp but overall good flavor.
