Lived across the street from the convention center for some time now. This review is less with the center or the people who run it, and more about what happens in front of the center every Friday from 5pm-6:30pm.
A group of protesters stand outside the center, waving flags, and doing what’s protected by their constitutional rights. I have no issue with the protests or even what the protest is about.
What is unacceptable, is to stand outsidethe convention center that is located opposite to a low income housing center, and scream into your megaphone. It completely surpasses a peaceful protest and is just disturbing the peace.
What’s more, is that this protester with the megaphone crosses the street back and forth, continuing to scream into it for any and all trying to relax at home after working an actual job to hear.
Now what surpasses disturbing the peace, is to see a resident politely ask you not to use the megaphone by writing a message on the ground in chalk, and to scream directly at the building using your megaphone. I’m sorry my chalk message hurt your feelings but harassment is a crime with more weight than ur fragile ego. We DO NOT need you screaming, you are NOT the main character.
Either hold up a flag and peacefully protest or go home. People have a basic expectation to not have you outside, screaming into a megaphone, right outside their window. If you’re gonna protest facism and poverty, maybe do it farther from the low...
Read moreWe planned our event and made the reservation 11 months in advance of a significant life event. At this time, we had no problem contacting and meeting with the sales manager, until we paid the deposit. They totally oversold their promise. Customer service was extremely lacking with no communication for months. At 8 months before our event, there was still no response and we could not even schedule a tasting of the new menu. We started researching about their business and learned that there is a huge turnover and there were numerous similar complaints. We respectfully asked them for a refund and then later to at least split the deposit return, but they refused. They said they could guarantee better service, but they had already guaranteed at the signing of the contract and they did not keep that promise for three months. We could not take any further risk and in all likelihood, the person we were working with would not even likely be working there by the time of our event. We cancelled and lost our deposit with still 8 months before our event. They could easily book that room to replace our event and they could have worked with us on the deposit refund. They would lose no money. They hold you accountable, but not themselves! We DO NOT recommend using them for any special personal event. Be careful with any promises made to you and research before you...
Read moreThis is an excellent facility. I wasn't expecting anything one way or another, and as a result was duly impress when I saw the building from the street. It is a new facility (brand new from what it appears), and if it has a couple of years under it's belt then it speaks to the management and elected officials of Lynnwood who maintain this facility flawlessly.
All the fixtures within the facility and the equipment provided, seem to be state of the art. At the conference I attended, I didn't see a single presentation that was flawed by a technical malfunction of the systems or equipment.
The interior is immaculately clean and the decor is designed in such a way that it is attractive and functional without being distracting. The artwork on the walls of the hallways and galleries were of local origin and in my opinion truly of gallery quality.
The staff were all very helpful and professional at all times, and even as they were serving during presentations were never intrusive or disruptive of the conference presentations.
It is easily accessed just 2 minutes off of the I-5 at 196th...
