This was a place on our bucket list and a 6 1/2 drive from our home. Overall, we're happy we experienced it, but it could have been much better. We wanted a relaxed hotel experience where we didn't have to leave the property. ||The Pros:||-We were able to travel with our dog. ||-The rooms were quiet. ||-We had a first floor room w/a patio, which made it easy to take the dog out at night. But... the door has to be propped opened with a door stop that's outside. That has to be some kind of design flaw. Bc then you allow any air conditioned cool air to escape and also allow bugs to get in. It doesn't make sense. ||-Nice trails on site.||-The girl who works at the hotel lobby bar with the short hair is the best! She's attentive and has a great personality. We wished she was there every night, but was only there on our last evening.||-Sitting in the lobby was very comfortable and it was never crowded. We would order food from the restaurant and eat in the lobby (since there's no where to eat in the room) and we'd play some games that we brought with us. ||-There is a simple beer museum on site, but some of the interactive things were missing things or just did not work.||-The guy who works at the gift shop register/bar was super nice.||-There is a good breakfast that's included and you also get to choose one beermosa. Additional beermosas are only $5. The breakfast staff is always great. Plates at breakfast weren't always clean so you have to go through the stack and find a clean one. ||-The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fluffy, but the duvet was way too heavy and warm. ||-We each received a check in beer||-We chose the shower beer fridge option ($60) and the virtual beer school ($25), which was just ok. ||-Food at the restaurant was good and it was nice to be able to have it delivered to the hotel lobby or your room for a $5 fee.||The Cons: ||-The manager (Devin) is not helpful. And I've read that from numerous other reviews. She's not good at rectifying situations and it's obvious she doesn't care. The employees working around her seem to be extremely tense (only in her presence). We noticed that she doesn't interact with any of the hotel guests like most hotel managers do. ||-My credit card was entered incorrectly at check in and I got a call from my credit card company bc the expiration date entered was completely wrong. ||- Our room was so dirty. Everything was covered in dust, dog hair and just overall grossness. Photos attached and speak a thousand words. There are only 32 rooms in the building. Why is it so difficult to clean them properly? Why doesn't the manager periodically check them? The floor was filthy, white dog hair all over the floor and in every corner. Cheerios left on the floor next to the bed. The beer fridge in the bathroom was dirty. Thankfully we brought our own sheets and pillows cases. And I had flip flops to wear around the room and in the shower. I wouldn't walk barefoot here or even in socks. If we weren't traveling with our dog, we probably would have left and went elsewhere. Especially for the price. No one wants to sleep in a dirty room. We paid over $1,000 for 3 nights, the shower beer option and the virtual school option. ||-There are no actual stouts available during the 7pm-9pm 'cookie and stout' time. And were told that they've been out of stouts for a long time now. ||-We were supposed to be signed up for the sour beer school on Friday. I had asked about it at breakfast Friday morning too just to confirm and was told that there weren't many people signed up so we could just go to the counter before 7pm, scan a QR code and then wait for the tour. When we arrived for the tour we were told no one was aware that it was happening, which was very disappointing. We have been looking forward to it and I even have all of the confirmation emails. We were told by the woman at the counter to ask for the manager the next day, but we decided that it wasn't even worth trying to do that tour anymore since it seemed like no one knows what's going on.||-There's no table in the room to eat at or play games on (just the small side tables next to the bed). When we went to use the ironing board to iron a shirt there was old food on it. Someone obviously used it as a table and it was never cleaned or replaced.||-Things missing from room - matchbook (was told they've been out of them for a long time), coffee pods and stuff from the snack bar box that we didn't touch. I've read other reviews of customers being overcharged or charged for stuff they didn't take or use so I will have to watch my credit card statement.||-Thankfully I read other reviews after booking and brought our own hangers bc there weren't many.||-There's no suitcase jack. I moved the snack bar container and put our suitcase there bc I was definitely not putting stuff on the dirty floor.||-Brought our own bathroom products. The ones in the shower looked coagulated (see pic) and we wouldn't use them. They also smelled bad (like pencil shavings). No wonder why the ones in the lobby for sale were all made almost one year ago. ||-The toilet stopped flushing and my boyfriend had to fix it. ||-There are no microwaves in the room.||-The rainfall showerhead is just ok. But if you should need to bathe your dog that won't work. ||-There is the shower beer fridge and the bedroom mini bar fridge. So if you need to refrigerate anything it may be an issue. ||-If you need ice, you have to ask at the bar in the lobby bc there is no self service ice machine, but Tilly was extremely helpful and nice with giving us ice. ||-The brewery tour doesn't include any sampling of fresh tapped beer. It's just one canned beer at the beginning of the tour. We've done many, many brewery tours and found this odd. ||-The numerous dead flies on the lobby windowsills were there every day. The same ones. Never cleaned. ||Overall, it's a great concept. We love breweries and we love our dog so we thought this place would be extra special. The rooms need to be deep cleaned and it's shocking that they're in this condition after only being opened for a few years. We were eating lunch when the manger came over and offered to have someone clean our room, which the night before we were leaving (we declined bc what's the point when we have less than 24 hrs left) and to have someone give us the beer tour. We already had the basic tour booked and didn't care about the sour beer tour any longer. Nothing in the way of a free beer or an offer for our regular beer tour to be of no charge. (We were actually given our $5 per person tour for free, but we didn't know this ahead of time bc she never mentioned it). No apology for the dirty room or anything else I had mentioned above. She could have turned this around even just a little, but didn't care to. Being married to the head brewer has it's perks. We normally leave cash in hotel rooms when we're leaving, but didn't here since the rooms were dirty to begin with. If this place was cleaner and ran better we'd definitely travel here with...

I used to love this place. I'm an old 80s punk with Scottish heritage, and this place was started by Scottish punks. Perfect! My friend, on the other hand, never really went there and doesn't like it because he lives right behind it and since they built the brewery, it has been very loud. Regardless, I persuaded him to meet me there for dinner since I had my dog with me. The patio was not busy, probably 50% occupied tables. We sat ourselves at one of the tables which is what I have done everytime I go there with dogs instead of taking the dog inside. I start telling my buddy about Brew Dog history and about the time that the hotel bar bartender found out my girlfriend and I had 8 samoyeds in the van and had us bring them all inside the hotel bar. At this point the waitress walks over and says with an attitude that we can't just sit anywhere and that I had to go inside to check in and that the table hadn't been cleaned. That was a little rude but, whatever. I took note of the table number and went to see the hostess. I told the hostess that the waitress sent me in to check in, gave her the number and said that we weren't pressed about the table not being cleaned. She took my name and said she would tell the waitress and we were all good. I returned to the table where my dog and buddy were. About five minutes later, we are approached by a little white kid 5'6ish, dark hair, 21-25, 150lbs who was apparently struggling to grow a mustache. This kid tells me that I need to check in with the hostess and that the waitress had told me this. I explain to him that I had already done this and was told that we were good to go. He puffs himself up and tells me that I need to go check in with the hostess again and that he is the assistant manager and no matter what his hostess told me( he called her his) we were indeed not good to go. I said, since this is obviously a miscommunication between his staff, that he should go talk to the hostess and clear things up. Up to this point, other than this kid obviously power tripping, it was a non event. This kid tells me again that he's the assistant manager and that I need to do what he tells me to do. Meanwhile, the waitress is standing to the side with her arms crossed and head cooked. I suspect she is the instigator and the assistant manager dude is trying to get points with her. I said "Well, Mr. Assistant Manager, why don't you manage your staff, and you go talk to the hostess so we can get some food." He starts going off again that I have to basically respect his authority and go speak with the hostess again. . At this point I asked for the actual manager. He said he was all I was going to get and that we needed to leave the establishment. I asked for his name and he refused to give it to me so I tried to take his picture. He threw his arms over his face and told me it was illegal for me to take a pucture since it was private property. I replied that it is a public space and there is no expectation of privacy according to Ohio law and tried to take his pic again. What a little joker. So we left. My friend went home still hating Brew Dog but with new reasons and enthusiasm and I took my dog to Fado in Easton where I sat on the patio and was welcomed warmly. This sucks because I was a big fan and supporter of Brew Dog, the Canal Winchester and Brew Dog beer. The Canal location is located right between my business and home so I routinely would have dinner and a couple beers there. I was raised in a high end Italian restaurant. I know all about the customer not always being right but this was not the case this night. We were sober and just wanted food and a beer. I believe this was Saturday, Aug 21 at 730pm. Not going back. Switching to...
Read moreMy husband and I came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. We stayed in a patio room and we purchased the Top Dog package and Anniversary package. We had a few issues but honestly they weren't dire and we would still come back.
When we arrived and checked in we were given a free beer. We went to the room and we had a bottle of wine and two glasses laying on the bed along with 2 tokens for beer at the restaurant. I love wine but I was confused because the anniversary package said "a bomber sour bottle out of the sour cooler" so we assumed that meant a sour beer. But no big deal.
Looked around the room before settling in of course and did notice a few things. There wasnt a lot of fridge space if we brought our own stuff. One was the beer fridge we bought then the other were options we could purchase. Then there was no microwave?? We found that super odd cuz what hotel doesnt have a simple microwave in the room? Then the rain shower head was entirely calcified over. Looked at the removable shower head and it was also very calcified and in need of cleaning. The shower itself doesnt have a big enough lip so water went everywhere when we showered. Then the clear shower liner was absolutely filthy on the bottom. It looked like it needed changed 6 months prior. I had to make sure the curtain didnt touch me because it was pretty gross.
The top dog package included the fully loaded beer fridge which was our favorite part of this room. I was personally a little disappointed since i assumed it being fully loaded meant it was loaded the same as their separate shower beer package which says it includes Hawkes cider but there was none. (They did have it on draft at the restaurant though and it was amazing) The dinner that came with this package was super delicious. We got the Korean bbq loaded fries and I have never seen a more fully loaded fry. My husband and I could've just eaten those and been content. We both had a burger which you can never go wrong with. Then the creme brulee cheesecake I need the recipe for because that is now my favorite cheesecake. We felt awful not finishing all our food but we also couldn't take it back to the room because there was no microwave.
The first morning we woke up we noticed the fitted sheet came off so we went to make the bed again and realized the fitted sheet was meamt for a queen bed and we had a king. He talked to someone at the front desk and they were confused why that sheet was even on the mattress because they apparently just use two flat sheets and tuck them under. I found this extremely weird since it is a hotel you would think youd want at least a mattress protector and a fitted sheet on the bed since you have guests in and out.
The complimentary breakfast was simple but good and filling. Coffee tasted fresh and they had a good assortment of foods to eat.
Stouts and cookies in the evening was great. Im not a stout drinker so the woman at the desk offered me a different beer instead free of charge which was super awesome. And we utilized the ping pong table as well.
Hopefully the descriptions of packages are a little better and the cleanliness improves because even with all the negatives, we really did enjoy ourselves and would like to come back again. There was a lot to do in the area and we'd love to do...
