Visited the Canal Winchester location to celebrate my birthday. The worst dining experience I have ever had. The food was excellent and the drinks were alright but the staff and service were terrible. We started off with one waitress who gave off the vibe that we were an absolute burden to her. It took forever for her to even arrive at our table to take our drink orders. At this point I thought to myself “Hey maybe they’re busy or understaffed. No biggie.” The part where this opinion changed was that my mother was disrespected. My mother planned the whole dinner for me as a celebration and was so excited to challenge the waitress to rock paper scissors for a chance to win a free dessert. For those that do not know, this is something Brewdog does for fun and is actually written on the menu. Well when my mother brought it up to the waitress, the waitress responded “Right now? Why would you do that right now?” with a bunch of attitude and it kind of ruined the whole evening. She made the whole thing about herself instead of just doing her job and encouraging the customer to enjoy themselves and the fun things their restaurant offers. Food orders took forever but the food was excellent. We were barely checked on and when we were it was by a different staff member each time. Every single one looked miserable and treated us like a burden. At the end of our meal our first waitress must have noticed how displeased we were because she offered us about 5 plates of free food with the excuse that our table is just far from her other tables. My meal was paid for by my family as a “happy birthday” but if I was paying, I would not have tipped and this is a big deal as I always leave a 20% minimum tip. My dad even joked you could not get drunk there if you tried because the service was so slow. I was only able to have 1 beverage and we were there for around 2 and a half hours. I have been to other Brewdog locations and have been treated excellent so I don’t know what this location’s or staff’s issue is. Will not be going back to the Canal Winchester location if I...
Read moreHello!! I’ve eaten here many times before and every time the food and everything is amazing!! However the last two times I’ve been it’s been rather disappointing compared to the usual experience. The first time the kitchen was closed and they had a taco truck outside as they were remodeling inside the kitchen, so not the restaurant’s fault really. The staff were nice letting us know and were very friendly and sympathetic towards our disappointment. The second time when we got seated it took an hour and a half to get our food after ordering, the appetizer came with the food which was especially disappointing as the fry’s were mushy and cold indicating they had been ready for a while and just never brought out. When our food came the taste wasn’t up to the standards i hold this place too, and actually made my stomach a little queasy the rest of the night. As well with that the menu seemed to have many of its options taken off, including my go to meal. When asked about the waiter said that she was unsure as she was still in training, she was very friendly upbeat and professional, but I’d love it if new staff could be directed to communicate with the kitchen about meals if they are unsure in the future. Having the food be as disappointing as it was was a real bummer as this has always been my favorite place to eat, I’m not sure if the experience was because they had remodeled somewhat recently, but it seems unlikely to me as it had been over a month in between the two visits. The staff and atmosphere was as always very friendly, inviting, and safe, but the food really disappointed me. I’d love to be able to change this to a 5 star!! Me and my boyfriend have been considering going here for prom, but with the last experiences I’m not so sure. Hopefully this review helps give some feedback...
Read moreWe had our rehearsal dinner here on 9/15 and were very disappointed by the experience to say the least. Lauren and Natalie did a great job at setting it up, but the delivery, food, and service were very poor. We had 28 guest and chose the Amplified menu with a "private room". The room was not private and was just an open air section of the dinning room and was very loud. For $65 per person, the food was the terrible, with the exception of the bruschetta appetizer and mashed potatoes. We also only received one tray of appetizers, which was not explained in the planning stage, and was quickly eaten by that many guest with some of my guest not getting any of it. The sliders were all bun and barely any meat. The cauliflower wings were okay. We chose Salmon and Filet as our main courses. All of the filets were well done and flavorless. The Salmon was so dry, it was basically inedible without the aide of the mashed potatoes. The asparagus was overcooked and bland. The dessert was insulting. We received one plate of desserts and only received a second plate when we complained to our server. The waitress we had was overwhelmed and unpleasant. We had one server for 28 guest and she struggled to provide refills and clear plates. It made no sense to have only one person serving us for that size of a group. The gratuity was added to the bill and we received service accordingly. The restrooms were disgusting and when we alerted the hostesses multiple, they simply laughed and said someone was taking care of it. The restrooms remained filthy throughout our visit. However, the rest of the restaurant was clean. I would not recommend planning...
