The Englewood Motel is a budget motel situated near Madison Indiana. One of the cheapest motels you can find that takes reservations I've found. The little old lady that owns the motel is extremely friendly and will help her guests with anything they need. The Motel, highway traffic aside, is quiet and safe. No rabble or drug heads hanging around late at night as with other budget motels. Checking in was painless and quick. The rooms themselves left much to be desired, even for the price. The fan in our room (Room #4) was loud and off balance. The room's are tiny and the walls have some unknown stains of different colors on them in the bathrooms. The room was outdated, with only a few plug ins here and there, and their largest bed is only a full size. So if you reserve a single bed for two people, be prepared for some cuddle time. The shower was possessed I think. Without moving the dial, it went from hot. To scalding, to cold, then back again in a span of 10 or 15 minutes. The temperature adjustment for the HVAC unit was broken, which was fine for when we stayed. It was stuck on cold, and thats where we needed it for our stay. It was 95 degrees outside. The room just generally seemed old and had not been updated since the 70s or 80s. ||So in the end, we got what we paid for. A good nights rest with little else. I suppose thats what you want when you go to a Motel, but for those that want much else. Look elsewhere. The location is nice. Right next door is a Taco Bell, a gas station, and an Aldis. Down the road are some good wing and steakhouses. The room is $45 dollars a night AFTER TAX. Decent for the price. But could...
Read moreThis motel is the cheapest place in the county ranging anywhere from $45-$55/night. It's also one of the smallest; having only 12 rooms total. The place is privately owned; with the owner residing in a house that sits directly beind the motel and is connected via the office. There is only one actul employee; the housekeeper. Otherwise it's either the lady that owns it or her son working the desk. And they are only in during the morning/early day and are gone as soon as the last room is rented. The rooms have a tv with cable, small fridge, microwave, and no phone. Everything looks like it's not been updated within at least the past 10-15 years except for the tvs. It's not the cleanest or most comfortable place to be but it's definitely not bad for the price. Plus they have great water pressure and are located right in the middle of town across from a Taco Bell and right next door to a Circle K. There are 2 non-smoking rooms, which happen to be the same 2 rooms i request whenever I stay there because they are definitely the best...
Read moreNo free wifi but decent selection of cable TV channels. Our room was nothing fancy but nice enough for the price. We saw no bugs on our stay. The housekeeper was very nice and gave us extra towels and pillows for the kids with no hesitation. The only issue we had was that someone reported we were too loud although we were in bed by 10pm. All in all not a bad place...
