The Notorious P.I.T. — Restaurant in Madison

I don't even have words to describe this place. No inside sitting, the food was way overpriced. I ordered a full rack of ribs and it took two hands to tear it apart. I asked to use the bathroom and some kid who works there said that he would have to ask for me to use it. I mentioned i needed to just wash my hands, the kid was nice enough to let me in the back where the food was to wash them. I saw the sides sitting in the back with flies around it. I am not sure how this place got any good reviews, but i hardly ever write reviews about a bad experience or good one but this one was hard not to. The only nice thing i have to say was the people were friendly for the most part. I didn't try anything except the ribs, but i think I'm good. 08-28-2025 Closed - Smoker is Cold. From what I can see doesn’t look like they have brisket. The board says brisket burger. Update: 09-04. Returned to find they were open. Would’ve liked to have gone three stars considering there’s no barbecue for 30 miles in any direction but, the brisket had a nice bark and smoke flavor. My husband and I love The Notorious Pit! We eat here several times a week, and it never disappoints.
