Online pre-check in was useless. When inarribed they still asked me all of the same questions and then double charged me for the room. The clerk lied and said that the tub in the mobility room was the same as a standard. I have a dynamic disability that includes chronic pain, which I use Epsom salt baths to help. I booked a mobility room with this in mind. When I went to the standard room they swapped me to, not only was the tub smaller than the one I have at home, it was dirty and had visibly broken caulking. When i reached out to customer service via text, they spent 20inuyes batting me around to several agents or chat bots; I still can't tell which because I never got anywhere with it. I checked my bank account because the clerk had accidentally charged me a 2nd time for a standard room, so I saw that there was about a $20 difference and decided to ask to be given the original room that I had booked. Instead of understanding and switching me right away, the clerk argued with me and stuck to their story that all the bathtubs were the same size. I had to show him the picture of the mobility tub from the website and the picture I took of the tub in the first room they sent me to, and point out the broken seal before they took me to look at the tub in the original room I booked. I was awoken around 10p by the clerk knocking on someone else's door and yelling for 20injyes straight for them to come out. They then had an argument with another customer about smoking in the room. I'm not saying that it's ok to smoke anywhere but this was not the way to handle it. As a DV survivor this was very triggering and kept me up late until i could calm down. I was so triggered by what happened that the sound of the heater kicking on at 3a woke me back up because I thought it was someone knocking aggressively again. The entryway light in the room is a motion detect light and turns on whenever you get up to go to the restroom regardless of what setting you have the switch on, so that was painful and annoying every time. The bed was very firm and this made what little sleep I got uncomfortable at best. They started vacuuming the hallway about 9:45a which is an ok time, but this also ensured that I woke up before my alarms were set and further shortened what little sleep I got here. The tub in this room, when I went to use it had the previous customer's loofah brush hanging on the handle still. This gave me pause about the overall cleanliness level. When I got out of my bath, I had first gone back to the bedside to get dressed and realized I forgot something. When j went back to the bathroom to retrieve it, I stepped into the tub to grab my stuff and make sure I didn't forget it in the morning. That's when I noticed that I had left grey footprints in the tub. With my newly cleaned, just bathed feet. That's how dirty the floor is in this place that a few steps arpund the carpeted part of the room had me leaving footprints in the tub. At this point, I'm regretting my decision to drive in a day early because despite my planning ahead I am still tired and sore going into the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI debated hard staying here based on reviews. However, it seems like Google pulls reviews from other hotels ? It was confusing me. However, I grew up in a rough trailer, so I said "how bad can it be."
The price is unbeatable. Paid $89 after tax/fees. The closest in price available was 130ish pretax/fees. So that alone is huge for my wife and I, budget travelers š¤£
The room was super clean, which suprised us because most of the bad reviews were mentioning roaches or dirty room, bad stained bedding ect, However the room we got was very clean. We're thorough we we check for creepy crawlers and bed/pillows were bug-free! The bathroom was clean, and we had clean towels. The provided shampoo was surprisingly really nice. It was weird that the sink wasn't in the bathroom. The microwave was used by my grandparents in the 60s. The expected size mini fridge was good for what we needed. The TV was a nice Vizio, probably 43" or so. Had all the channels, Direct TV. only real complaint about the rooms were that it was definitely outdated. The carpet is obviously older. The table, dresser, and extra chairs were very basic with chippings and such. Not a big deal and was expects when we picked the hotel that was $60+ cheaper than all the competition.
The Lobby is very nice and welcoming and the Staff were very nice. My wife and I booked this place very last minute after hiking all day at Clifty and scouring downtown Madison. I made the mistake of booking the wrong night and I was so worried I was gonna have to cancel and not get a refund because it was after the 24 grace period that we booked. But, we went in to the hotel, talked to the man, and he easily switched it for us with zero attitude or animosity. I was very pleased with that.
Breakfast was bare bones but it fills am empty tummy for free. SEC Jimmy Dean croissant sandwiches, few diff yogurts, frozen Waffles, Honey Buns, Apples. Apple Juice & Oj, and Coffee. The coffee was surprisingly good! I drink black coffee and I try coffee every where we go. for a cheap hotel, this ain't bad!
It's 8-10 min from the river walk/ downtown madison but it's still located within walking distance of Krogers, Walmart, Tractor Supply, Gamestop and a few other chain-stores. And damn near every fast-food chain you can think of is right here. Rally, Culvers Mcdonalds Arby's Burger King Pizza Hut Wendy's ect. You name it it's probably here. All in all, great location.
We LOVE madison indiana and all it has to offer. So to find a very affordable [could be cheaper but welcome to 2024] place to stay the night is great for my wife & I. we will definitely stay again in the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had booked this stay through Expediaand payed for this room for a car show on the River 5/24/2019, this is the WORST PLACE EVER! When I checked in the Owner/ Manager ran my card agin and when I asked him why he did this, it was already payed in full his response was "I ran this in case you smoke, to cover my damage deposit" No dude you don't, I do NOT play this, we do not smoke and I am NOT paying for anything I did NOT damage here in this place and this is not what the contract said would happen. Our First room I went to checking for bed bugs the toilet was dirty, the sick spicket was dirty there was mold around the gasget in the refrigerator, bugs in window and a large stain on the sheet/pad and the pillows looked as if they had been flipped and NOT changed. I told the Owner/ Manager who lived there on the second floor and he was very sorry gave me a New/ Great room so he said. Went to the room AGAIN q-tips under the bed, floor had NOT been swept, toilet was dirty and NO remote for the TV. I went back down stairs asked for a remote and he had given me the Lobby remote. I went back up and thought I would look for this remote behind side table and when I pulled it out there were napkins and dirt, when I pulled ot the dresser to look behind it I found a hypodermic needle and some beer bottle caps with more dirt and in the carpet in front of the desk a sewing needle, needless to say I am LIVID!! I called the Owner/ Manager and told him I wanted him to this room now to see this filth and he was there within a few minutes and very reluctant to enter I may say. He did come in and had looked at what I found and said he hired 2 new house keepers and again he was sorry. I let him know this is UNEXCEPTABLE and if I were in his position I would be checking rooms AFTER house keeping! This is a Hotel that has NOT been kept up the "Breakfast " looked to be cold ceral and a banana. The HOT tub was NO where to be found and I would NOT have entered it ANYWAY it would have been full of germs! No Elevator, the stairs were nasty!!I DID contact Expedia who called the hotel and in return DID GIVE...
