We recently had the pleasure of staying at Thurston House B & B to celebrate my in-law's 60th anniversary! And I must say that Beverly, the proprietor, has truly outdone herself once again. Our experience was beautiful, and every aspect of our stay exceeded expectations.
The ambiance was warm and peaceful, from the holiday decor to the beautifully kept grounds. The rooms were spotlessly clean, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
One of the highlights of our stay was waking up to the most spectacular breakfast, both mornings. Beverly's culinary skills are awe-inspiring; every dish served was a delightful masterpiece. The breakfast not only surpassed our expectations in terms of taste but also catered to our allergies and preferences.
Our experience was elevated when we encountered the newly crafted garden, a breathtaking collaboration between Beverly and her talented gardener. Prepare to be amazed by the abundance of plants gracing this green oasis, creating an unreal and captivating atmosphere. As a delightful bonus, guests can bring a piece of this natural wonder home, as a selection of these botanical treasures are for sale and so reasonably priced.
Thurston House B & B is not just a stay; it's a beautiful journey where comfort and nature intertwine to create an unforgettable retreat.

Read moreFive stars for the room, the service and the location! And, if I had one more I’d use six stars to describe the breakfasts! We really had a delightful stay with our host Beverly at the Thurston House. We have a lovely room (the O’Heir Suite). Nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and en suite. Very quiet. Flooded with sunlight in the mornings. And, bonus, the “sleeping porch” was adjacent to our room. I spent many hours rocking lazily in the Pawley’s Island hammock sipping some delicious Scotch and reading. The service was perfect. Beverly has thought of everything. She was never more than a text away when we had a question. And, she’s a great cook! The breakfasts were bountiful and delicious! It was just dumb luck but we happened to be visiting during the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. Quite the affair! A juried festival, they invite more than 250 artists and welcome 350,000 visitors over three days. The Thurston House is so convenient to Winter Park. Less than four miles away. Or fellow B&B guest were able to give us some valuable tips regarding parking and Beverly made some wonderful suggestions for restaurants! We will definitely be visiting the Thurston...

Peaceful, serene, and fabulous food....if you are wanting these, I highly recommend Thurston House!!!
The room in which I stayed was spacious and extremely comfortable all-around! It is SO quiet, and the bed is most comfortable!!! Lots of natural lighting, which I also prefer. The woodwork throughout the house is exquisite, and the house itself is rich in history!! The grounds are lovely, abounding with lovely trees and flowers and a lake to enjoy, too. A sense of peace and serenity envelope the house.
All five of the breakfast meals I ate were out-of-this-world delicious!!!! Besides being an superb cook, Beverly is an amazing, delightful, warm, quiet-spoken innkeeper (and owner) who willingly and gladly accommodates her guests needs!! Her love and care for this home is apparent!
Given the opportunity, I will choose to stay at Thurston House every time I visit the area and, without hesitation, highly recommend...
