This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. However, we had no choice to stay due to everything being sold out for Pike's Peak Marathon weekend. I've traveled for over 16 years with work so have stayed at more hotels annually than I can count and have never come across such a poorly represented property. If I was Wyndham, I would be ashamed to have my name associated with this Days Inn. The owner of the property yelled at us, threatened us, and tried to bribe us to leave (so he could price gouge someone else since our rate booked months ago was $100 less than current rates for that weekend). Not only was he yelling at us in the middle of the lobby, which is completely unacceptable, but also in front of a woman and her young child passing through. He accused us of booking the hotel online and putting one guest when we actually booked by phone and explained that we had four guests and needed two beds. The owner accused us of having more guests than booked when it was clearly represented that there were four guests when we called to make the reservation. Once we arrived we were told WE LIED and then were told we would need to pay an additional $90!!! per night for four people in one room. The owner threatened us that if we did not pay that fee and he caught more than one person in the room he would kick us out. Why would someone book a room with two beds if there wasn't going to be more than one guest?! He finally tried to tell us that we would have to pay $20/person and that was it. Either take it or we are on the street. Again, since everything was booked due to the Pike's Peak Marathon weekend we had no choice but to agree to pay more than what we had booked the room for. So we managed to only pay $60 more than what was quoted during booking. Since Covid is going we weren't able to get room service, which is understandable. However, my jaw dropped when I was chased down the hall by hotel staff for taking two towels off the carts back to our room so we could have some clean hand towels. That said, the room wasn't clean to start and we went to Walmart to purchase sheets instead of sleeping on the STAINED sheets that were on the bed. We assumed after the check-in ordeal the last thing we wanted to deal with is talking to the owner again about how dirty the room was. We honestly tried to make sure we didn't see him the whole time we were there. I will NEVER step foot in this property again and will also make sure that everyone knows this experience through all social media avenues and reviews. Next up is escalating this with Wyndham. P.S. - I typically take reviews with a grain of salt, but based on these other reviews and the owner's (Mike's) response we sure wish we would have stayed clear of this place. Lesson learned...

Based on your reply to my review it doesn't appear you are going to tell the truth about what happened. You are completely lying and we'll be taking this up with Wyndham. They record booking conversations so this will be easy to prove you are lying. It was clearly discussed that four people were staying in the room. Why else would there be a double bed if only one guest was staying there? You obviously had planned on four guest as the bathroom had four towels for four guests to take showers. Then, to lie and say we were were not acting properly?! You were the one that was raising their voice, threating us, and making everyone uncomfortable. Even the poor lady and her child rushed through the lobby while you were acting this way. However, due to everything being sold out we had no other choice, but to take your verbal abuse and agree to pay the additional money for the room that had already been booked for four guests. It's a shame that anyone would treat guests this way and I feel sorry for anyone that makes the mistake of staying at this property...
Read moreEarly November my mother, sister and I, stayed at this Days Inn in Manitou Springs. Upon arrival, the young lady behind the desk was very friendly and said the hotel (motel) was practically empty and she would get us a room with a creek view. She sent us to room 213. After entering the room my sister noticed hair on the pillows. We pulled back the sheets and found more hair and could tell the sheets had been slept in and not changed. We found the same with the other bed. We also had a parking lot view which really wasn’t a big deal but not what we were promised. We called down to the front desk and the same girl came up within minutes, apologizing, and said she got us a room with a creek view. Room 215. We walked in and realized it did not have the view she mentioned. No big deal but my mother really wanted the view so she quickly returned with keys to room 212. Creek view! Unfortunately, this room too had unchanged sheets with hair, lint and dirt in the bed.
To say this is unacceptable is a gross understatement. These are health code violations to say the very least. We went back down and asked for clean sheets and pillow cases. We spent the next 20 minutes of our time changing bed sheets, making us late for a family dinner. The WiFi didn’t even work!
The woman on duty told us to speak with a manager who would be on duty the following morning named Terry. Which we did. Terry didnt seem to terribly interested but said she would look into it and we would see a refund on our bill when we check out. When we did check out, November 18, we received a $20 discount on a three night stay. This wasn’t near enough to cover our time, trouble or trauma. Of course the woman working at the counter (one we hadn’t seen before) wasn’t able to help us beyond calling Terry to confirm the pathetic discount. We had an early plane to catch so had no choice but to leave it at that for the time being.
When we returned I spoke with someone at the corporate offices for the Wyndham hotel chain. They informed me the Days Inn’s are privately owned and would reach out to the manager to call me back. Terry did finally call back and left a message with her cell phone so I could reach her personally. I called back within 5 minutes but it went straight to voice mail. I have made several calls and left messages since with no response. Maybe a call from the health department will get...
Read moreI’ll start with the positive: The room was clean and well stocked and getting extra towels and such was no problem. Everything in the room worked well, such as tv and lights. The pool and hot tub were in clean and working order. I didn’t even mind the sign out sheet for the gym and pool area. The breakfast was a little lackluster but that’s because of COVID restrictions so nothing bad on the hotels part. It’s in a fantastic area as well with a nice little binder in the room of tons of activities, shops, and restaurants to check out. Now the negatives: We were a bit disappointed that the game room was closed because we were very excited about that since it has many things to do. The next negative point is the check in experience. We used Expedia, as we often do for the bundle capabilities, so the hotel was paid for ahead of time. I also called the hotel before booking to make sure there was no other deposit or checkin charges to be aware of. I was told no to any other charges once we check in. So I was expecting to check in and receive my keys and that be the end of it. We were exhausted from the flights over so we went straight to our room and to bed. I awoke to many messages of bills being denied as I had insufficient funds. That was strange so I checked my balance and they re charged me my room price for the hotel room. I was shocked and talked to the front counter and they assured me it was a mistake and the owner would be in to talk to. I talked to him over the phone and he told me it was a deposit and I’d get it back at the time of checkout. I've heard of deposits but never that much and I’d called ahead of time to avoid this. I even mentioned I’d be booking through Expedia. This put my bank in the negative as well as put us behind on what we were there to do. As we had flown in to get married in the state we both had fallen in love with. The owner told my fiancé and I different things so I’m not sure exactly why it was so high or why the charge existed in the first place. He had said like an apartment it was a security deposit but he told my fiancé it was because we booked through Expedia. So I warn others about that possibility. If it wasn’t for that incident the hotel stay would...
