Schryver Park — Attraction in Manitou Springs

We had lunch here one afternoon and it was such a wonderful setting! There were ducks playing in the stream, and big fat squirrels running around in the trees. The weather was amazing and the sounds of the stream flowing were so sereen.

The park offers picnic tables, playground equipment, and fishing opportunities in the mtn stream. The Manitou swimming and fitness center also happens to be adjacent to the park. I’d say this place is one of our favorite spots as of right now, the pond is great for fishing, the park is great for the kids!! Super family friendly!! HOWEVER!! My biggest issue is they close the bathrooms TOO EARLY!! The guy will close it up as early as 6 sometimes, when the posted time is 8, I’m sorry to say but when I’m there around 7/8 o’clock fishing and letting my kids play I may need to use the amenities. Searched for kid friendly fishing and this little park popped up. Seems like it should be further out in nature, but there it is, sitting right off a fairly busy intersection next to the public pool.
