B and B?  BED AND BAD EXPERIENCE! Huh? Not even close to our expectations. In short, we would never come here again and could never recommend it. It is by far the worst B snd B we have ever stayed in. Its really like an AirBandB. Our experience in the guava room was definitely a one-star experience, I left two stars in optimism that the other three Suites are maybe better? We travel a lot and in a large variety of hotels, and we trust reviews, but this is NOT the place that I read about and saw in the reviews. And I know there are always Karens out there that will complain no matter what. That is not the case here. We came very close to leaving and staying somewhere else and just eating the $1000 that we already paid. I had to keep apologizing to my wife because coming in i told her how great this place was supposed to be.  Thankfully we were going to another island after the 4th night and staying at a different hotel. We could not of stayed there any longer. When we walked into the Guava Room we were underwhelmed to say the least. They call it a suite, but it is just a small, dark, depressing room! Calling this a suite is false advertising. I specifically booked this placed based on the incredible reviews. My wife even started to think that the reviews are fake or they got a kickback if they wrote a 5 star review, which i dont think is the case, I hope. I actually went back and looked at reviews and most people were in the other 3 suites. I think we were in their worst room. DO NOT STAY IN THE GUAVA ROOM. There is no room to put any of our stuff and we felt VERY CRAMPED. Nowhere to put your clothes except a few hangers, so we were living out of the 2 suitcases that took up even more room. Shower was nice, but nowhere to hang towels, toilet paper, toiletry bag, or anything else in the bathroom or in the room. We didnt want to just put the towels on the floor and then reuse them, so we hung them on the shower curtain. Well, that fell down and hit me since there was no brackets keeping it in place. So we hung our towels on the door knobs. BTW, towels smelled so moldy we choked when we dried off. Also, this is the first Bed and Breakfast that Ive been at where YOU make the breakfast. Nothing like a frozen breakfast sandwich and cereal with water!  My wife had to go to a coffee shop since we had no cream or milk. And we had to use our bed as a kitchen counter so we could eat at the little side table we had. We would have eaten outside where there was a table, but it was all dirty and dog poop under it. If you try to cook your food, you have to use one appliance and then plug the next one and then the next one. Day 2 update: I guess we needed to request each day to get our dirty dishes changed out and to get food for breakfast for the next day, which we did not know until it was too late, so we just went out for breakfast. Day 3 update: We did get a refill of breakfast for the 3rd day, but no new dishes. I guess we were supposed to wash them in the bathroom? We had to go out to breakfast again. My wife made the comment that morning, "I just need to get out of this horrible room". Everyone mentioned Eva in the reviews and how great, hopsitable, and helpful she was. We haven't seen her. Im sure she is great. We were on our own the whole time and it would have been nice to get some tips about what to do in Maui. This has been the most hands-off, impersonal bed and breakfast experience we've ever had. At night we had trouble sleeping because we think the owners were coming in and out of their residence, which turned on the security spotlight that shines into our room, and then their dogs would bark each time. Every morning we are excited to get out of the room as soon as we can so we can enjoy Maui and not let our bad hotel experience ruin our vacation. Location is great and there's a lot of good stuff as long as you have a car. I suggest to the owners to stay in the Guava Room with 2 people and 2 suitcases for a week. Try to have a nice breakfast and a relaxing stay. Imposible

We are repeat guests of Eva and Jimmy's 'WWW B&B'! As a matter of fact, we can't even imagine visiting Maui without staying there. The house is beautiful, the lanai is spacious and welcoming and the guest rooms are clean are tastefully decorated with all the amenities we could need. Beach toys, towels, chairs, coolers and almost anything else you need for a day in the sun is provided. We don't even buy sunscreen anymore because there is a collection to choose from, courtesy of previous guests! Self-serve breakfast offers lots of selection of bagels, bread, croissants and other baked goods, along with sliced cheese and deli meats. There is always sliced pineapple, strawberries and incredibly delicious apple bananas (smaller and sweeter than normal bananas). I can go on and on about the wonderful features of this B&B, but the real gems of this place are the owners, Eva and Jimmy. I have rarely met anyone so big-hearted, genuine, easy-going and welcoming as these two! They go above and beyond to meet the needs of the individual guests and have lots of suggestions for activities, shows and must-dos around Maui. Many a day, they have sat with us and other guests on the lanai and shared easy conversation and laughter. They have truly become our family away from family.

Our stay had a lot of hiccups and ended terribly with us being scolded, not receiving our cash discount we had counted on, and ruining some of our planned activities because of it. This was the first stay on our year later anniversary delayed honeymoon and babymoon. The normal hosts Jim and Eva had a family emergency, so there was someone filling in for them named Debbie. I am sure the regular hosts would have been great and we appreciate that they found someone to fill in so that we could still stay, however, this person really ruined our stay. We arrived to her cleaning the room WITHOUT A MASK ON. We booked this stay specifically because it listed so many COVID precautions, so this was a shock. We didn’t mention it, but every time she consequently came to drop off things to the room, she still never had a mask on. We could have overlooked this, but the worst part was check out. The whole stay, Debbie was texting my phone to communicate with us, and unfortunately my phone got water damaged and was completely broken. As check out approached I realized we didn’t have her number so I tried to email the official website, but I think due to the family emergency, Eva and Jim couldn’t get back to us. We left my husband’s number via email. When checkout day came (listed as 11AM on the website and in the room), no one was to be found and no way to contact Debbie. We had our cash ready for the 10% cash discount we had been counting on, but there were no instructions, no phone number for Debbie, and we didn’t know what to do. We called Eva for Debbie’s number, and Eva was very nice and gave me her number. I called Debbie and texted, but got no answer (still before 11AM). Since we were staying in Maui after the stay, we figured we would just drive back later to officially check out when we could get a hold of someone. We didn’t think to leave the key or cash ($900+) In the room since there were no instructions to do so, and that seemed very unsafe to us. We went on with our plans and around 1PM (2 hours after checkout listed) we got a very angry call from Debbie in my husband’s phone. She was yelling at me (YES yelling!) saying that she has a real job and can’t be just waiting around for us 24/7... I was so confused as I only expected the host to be there until check out time. When she found out that we hadn’t left the key, she was even more furious. She told us we needed to return immediately and she had no idea why anyone would ever take the key with them. We had a tour planned near Paia, but skipped it, sped back to Kihei given Debbie’s urgency and anger. When we returned, Debbie was no where to be found and was not answering her phone again. We waited for 20 min with our cash and the key ready but no one came. This time we left the key, but still wouldn’t leave the cash because that seemed crazy to us leave almost $1000 in an unlocked room. We drove back on our way up to Paia when Debbie finally called and told us to leave the cash in the room. At this point we were miles away and still not comfortable leaving that much money unguarded. Debbie then yelled “Well if you don’t want to leave the cash then I don’t know what to tell you!’ And HUNG UP on me! My husband and I were shocked. I wrote a long play by play email to Jim and Eva, but I am sure they have bigger personal matters to attend to. I don’t blame them, their B&B is in a great location and was very nice, but the circumstances just didn’t work out, and we just had an awful experience here. As an adult, I have never been yelled at, belittled and scolded the way Debbie had to me. Looking back days later, it’s almost funny, but just ridiculous that a professional would treat...
