Maui Banyan Vacation Club — Hotel in Maui

AVOID AT ALL COSTS I had a reservation at the Maui Banyan for two nights this month. At 330am on the first night of my stay the fire alarm/carbon monoxide alarm started going off and I woke up to feel myself tight chested and dizzy. When I turned on the bedside light, I woke up to find two cockroaches on my bed and later I found three more in the kitchen. It probably should have been a warning sign that when I walked in my unit there was a sign saying the 5 dates for scheduled bug extermination in August alone. After calling the after hours line, the security and the front desk, this hotel is still holding me liable for both night of the stay and has been utterly unresponsive and uncaring to the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of their hotel. Avoid this location, despite the pretty pictures, and find yourself a safe and clean spot elsewhere with a management company that cares about...

Jaime the security guard came up to my vehicle and was very rude. I just pulled in, per the owners instructions and parked. jaime said I had to go to the front office to check in and left. Then I moved my car to a lot closer to room and I grabbed my bag, as I was walking to the office, she drove up on me and was aggressively telling me “I told you you had to go to the office or I’m gonna tow your vehicle, I’m security!” So I advised her I was and that she didn’t even give me a chance to go to the office before rolling up on me and yelling. IMO, because I wasn’t doing it her way, she was trying to get on me for it. It was a horrible way to start a vacation and I don’t feel comfortable or safe with her as security bc she also made me give her my room number. We’ll see if the stay is fine, but at the very least, she needs to be corrected on etiquette and understand she is security...

If I could give this place no stars I would. My group of four landed in Maui at around 8 pm after grabbing the rental car and a bite to eat we went to check in at the Maui Banyan. 2 of the 4 rooms my group booked were locked from the inside, the front desk said they did have a chance to get to that yet.(keep in mind it's about 10pm.) after about another 90 min we got in. We booked and prepaid for 4 condos with full kitchens and laundry but only received 2. The other two rooms were low end hotel rooms (cheap bedding, and infested with cockroaches.) When we brought this up with the desk they were happy to listen to our frustrations but wouldn't lift a finger to fix the room assignments.
