I have stayed at quite a few Marriott properties and at least a handful of Fairfield Inns. This one was very clean and seemed to be well organized. I stayed here several nights. It is a new property (no more than a few months old) so you would expect a certain degree of cleanliness but I have been to other new properties that were not so clean or organized. The breakfast was consistently stocked and the attendants friendly. I asked for something and one of the managers came out personally and took care of it. The housekeeping staff was also nice and accommodating. The staff in general was very friendly, polite and professional. They always seemed to be in a genuinely good mood...happy! Well there was one interaction that I felt was way outside of usual characteristic of Marriott staff. I was admittedly wrong about a situation but I am still not accustomed to being addressed in such a manner & tone especially at Marriott. It offended me. There is a way to do everything. But honestly even considering that, the interaction with the same person the next day was better even though it initially didn't seem or feel very genuine....but I'll take it. We are all human. The front desk staff was amazing even with there being a few new staff members that were in training. Emmanuel P was the front desk person that made me want to journal this review. He was very intuitive and demonstrated a top notch willingness to make sure guests (not just myself but those I sat back and observed him with) felt welcomed and valued. I felt that he was always ready and willing to go above and beyond to take personal ownership of whatever. I have rarely seen this at the front desk and I frequent Marriott properties a lot. Yes, I am a Gold Elite member. There was another guy named Emmanuel that was good and knew his job very well also. Oh, and the operations manager also impressed me. She was sharp too! I just like to give credit where its due. Most people give reviews when they have a problem. This was not my case here. Thank you Emmanuel P and the Fairfield Inn staff for a warm and pleasant stay! PS: There are several restaurants and places to eat in walking distance (no more than a 1/4 of a mile) and even some shopping. There is a very convenient 7-11 right in front of the hotel in the same parking lot and a Dollar Tree very close as well. This is a conveniently located property!
I would like to add an update about the person that I mentioned in this review that I had an unpleasant interaction with. I have had the opportunity to speak with her and she appears to be a very passionate and professional person. From what I have learned, the good things about the property are largely a reflection of her and her passion for excellence. I respect her and her efforts to bring the experience that you get when you stay at this hotel....
Read moreHad higher hopes with this being a newer hotel.....||Check-in.......arrived to hotel around4:30PM (after checkin time). Walked in, no one was at the desk. Stood there almost 10 mins until someone came up - she apologized and said she was talking to someone she hadn't seen in awhile....um, you're working the front desk. Maybe you should make sure your station is manned!?||Room - basic room - modern feel, clean. Nothing fancy (which is fine by me)||Market cafe store......went downstairs to get a water....again, no one was at front desk...stood there about 5 mins til someone came. Then I felt like I was being a burden to her. Would have probably been longer if the phone wasn't ringing which is the only reason she came out from out back in the first place.||Room TV - had issues with Netflix. I logged in no problem, as I do in many Marriott locations. Netflix would only run 1 min max til it just would kick out to the Marriott Bonvoy main menu. Tried 3x, then turned off TV and tried again 2x. Didn't work - 30 secs max on Netflix now. I called the front desk and they sent someone up. The guy barely spoke English, and my lack of Spanish didn't help, but we survived via Google Translate. He messed with the TV and said there was an error and he couldn't fix it. It's now 10pm, and I'm tired and really just want to relax and go to bed! This is a NEW hotel - how are things not working right now!? He told me he would let the front desk know. No call, no apology, no offer of changing rooms so I could watch tv. I ended up watching tv on my phone! There is a beautiful new tv in the room, and I couldn't use it!!!||Overall, the hotel is new and clean, but don't have ANY expectations beyond that. I can't explain how disappointed I am with this property, and honestly shouldn't even be under the Marriott name. I have Gold Status with Marriott and have stayed at many Marriott properties. I would NOT stay here again - customer service is SOOO very important, and this place just...
Read moreI was looking forward to staying here. As I walked into the lobby, a tall woman of color behind the desk stared at me in what I can only describe as a mixture of disgust and judgement. I was throughly confused as Iâm just an average person who wasnât doing anything strange. I asked if she had any rooms available. She said yes and continued to stare at me in disgust. I then asked if I could please rent a room and she asked for what purpose. I told her I needed a room. She asked for my drivers license and I got it out, along with my payment, and handed her my ID. She just stood there and again asked for the purpose of me renting a room. I again responded that I needed a room, adding I needed a place to stay. More staring from her. She then said, âwe donât just rent rooms out to anyone for no reason.â How perplexing. I questioned myself as to if I had accidentally walked into the gas station next door instead of, you know, a hotel that rents rooms to guest who need a room. In the end, she wouldnât rent me a room. It was honestly so odd and jarring. I drove a few miles down the road and was greeted with a smile at the Hampton Inn and Suites, got a great room, stayed the night and left the next day. The situation weighed so heavily on me that I was refused a room for absolutely no reason outside of what I could gather was this womanâs disgust and contempt towards me that I emailed Marriott asking for an explanation as to why I was denied a room. I was told someone would reach out, but they never did. Does anyone know if this would count as discrimination? I truly feel what happened to me was not okay and Iâd hate for it to happen to anyone else. I do just want to add that I was polite and respectful, I was not doing anything that would be considered odd behavior. I was simply trying to get a room for the night and was denied for no reason anyone would state to me. I understand a hotel not renting if someone appears under the influence, etc., but that was not the case. Thank you...
