Just signed up with 24 Hour Fitness in McKinney. I am not happy driving 20 minutes one way to go to 24 Hour Fitness. I live in Frisco, the two closest location both closed ... I was a member of 24 Hour Fitness on Preston Rd in Frisco, and also attended the one in Little Elm on Eldorado Pkwy which borders Frisco.
I know there are many others in Frisco that would prefer having the location open up. The location in Frisco was much larger than Mckinney, upstairs and downstairs. The dry sauna was much larger than the small dry sauna in McKinney.
--- More disappointing is one of the over night staff -- young female name "Anah." Being retired military, I go overnight... I walked in approx. 0130 in the morning. There was no one at the front desk. I check in.... worked on my upper body and was looking for an abs machine to work on my abs... I saw only one, which was in use... so I walked around until I found Anah and only realized she possibly worked there because of the 24 Hour shirt. She was looking or listening to something on her bluetooth... she was not at front desk... I asked her was there other abs machines.. after about one minute ... of her asking me if I was referring to an "App" although, I patted my stomach ... she still did not get it... I guess since I was persistence she finally took her bluetooth out and understood what I was asking her. She then told me that she did not know...that she was not a "personal trainer." I told her that she did not need to be a personal trainer to know what machine was in the gym. Then she told me that she never received any training. I then asked her how long she been working at the location, she told me a year. I told her that if she's been there for a year just walking around she should know where the machine are and what they do.. since it's on the machines.. After that I went to another member and asked... and got more help than Anah...

I have been a loyal member of this gym for 17 years, and my recent visit on 12/24/2025 left me quite disappointed. I arrived around 7:00 am, excited to enjoy a great cardio and lifting session. However, the day took a turn when I returned to my locker to find my belongings had been moved and a lock was placed on locker #40, which I had been using.
I immediately approached the front desk to report the situation. A staff member accompanied me to the locker room, where I explained that locker #40 was mine, as it was a corner locker and easy to remember. After some searching, I found my bag in a different locker on the lower level, but unfortunately, a few items were missing.
I offered to pay for the lock if my items were not found inside, hoping this would expedite the process. Despite this, the staff was hesitant to cut the lock. Instead, an announcement was made over the P.A. system, requesting the person using locker #40 to return to the locker room. I waited patiently for an hour, but no one came forward.
After another 30 minutes, I returned to the front desk, where a different staff member informed me that the previous staff member was asking around the gym if anyone had used locker #40, but without success. After waiting another 30 minutes, I realized my time and the missing items were not worth further delay, although the principle of the matter was frustrating.
My experience highlights a concerning issue: there are thieves in the gym, and it seems they receive preferential treatment over long-time members like myself. I would have expected better support in retrieving my items, but it appears a $5.00 lock holds more importance than a loyal customer's belongings. Please be cautious and vigilant with your belongings...
Read moreSigned up online for the 3 day pass with ease. Being new to the area and not knowing how absolutely packed the place would be that evening, I went Wednesday around 5 or 6 pm. I walk in and the lady at the front does not look pleased to see me. I say hello, this is my first time, I have the guest pass, etc. She says let me go check with my manger real quick. Cool. She walks over to some beefed up dude on the side staring me down and walks back over and says sorry we're at capacity. Understandable. She then continues to say "But if you want to get in today we'd have to sign you down for a membership, you pay 1 dollar now and if you cancel within the next two weeks you wont be charged." I say how about if I come back when it isn't so busy to check the gym out? I mean I still have a few days left on my guest pass that should be no problem. Lady pretty much says no its at the managers discretion and starts stonewalling me.
Thats my experience now let me tell you why I am dissatisfied with said experience.
Lady was kind of rude off the bat but I can look past that I really don't care/ Beefed up manager man was looking at me weird too but oh well. If you're at capacity how does me giving you a dollar suddenly mean I can get in now? Seemed like they were trynna force me into something which isn't cool. Lady kept stonewalling me about coming back another day for some odd reason and did not leave me feeling welcomed at all.
Moral of the story is you wan't to feel comfortable and welcomed at your gym and if I gotta deal with beefcake manager and rude lady every time I walk in for a lift I'm not gonna force it. I'll take my efforts else where which...
