Man! We aren't Indian, but we do love Indian food. We live right around the corner from the Indian Kitchen and have waited what seemed like forever for it to open so we could try it out. Sure enough they opened up two weeks ago and somehow we only just noticed, but we went immediately.
We showed up 15 minutes before closing, ordered pakora, chef's special curry, Tikka masala, and butter chicken combos, and some extra garlic naan. I also had to try out a Thums Up cola, I wasn't disappointed in the least.
The pakora and accompanying chutney were super fresh, and perfectly cooked so that the flavors of the vegetables had fully developed and married, but not to the point of losing their snap.
And
That
Chutney!
I need that in 5 gallon buckets.
The Chef's Special Curry was really good, it had a pleasant spice level that didn't overpower the flavor of the dish. I would definitely eat this again. It was too spicy for my wife, but she doesn't eat spicy food at all.
The Chicken Tikka Masala was delicious. My wife was over the moon with how good it was. We were also delighted to find that it tasted very different from the kids butter chicken, many places seem to run the two into the same flavor profile.
The kids Butter Chicken was also a hit, creamy and delicious. They were just as satisfied as we were.
Those Lentils though.
Seriously.
I'm a native Texan who doesn't consider it a meal if there isn't meat. That said, I could happily sit down with a bowl of those Lentils and some of that garlic naan and be not just happy, but excited. Dang those are good!
The owners are amazingly friendly, and attentive to the customers. Any questions we had were answered with knowledge, enthusiasm, and excitement, you could really tell the passion for what they were doing. I am a fan.
On top of amazing food, friendly, knowledgeable staff/management, great customer engagement, and a host of other great things, the restaurant is tastefully decorated with a lovely open floor plan. The art on the walls is a slightly modernized bent on a culturally significant style, which is refreshing, and a joy to look at.
10/10 absolutely recommend! Y'all swing by your Indian Kitchen and try out their amazing food and hospitality, you...
Read moreGiving only 5 stars because there is no option for 10 stars!! Where to begin… Quality - excellent, Service - excellent, Cleanliness - excellent! I wanted to bring few samosas to work to share with my co workers and the latest I was willing to pick up and drive was at 10:30am and the restaurant opens at 12:30pm. It was not a big order, just 25 samosas. When I called I spoke to the owner who is extremely kind, sweet and professional! I had mentioned that I don’t want to but I guess I have to pick up the samosas the night before and he instantly offered that he would personally come early in the morning and make the samosas for me!! Not only I was lost with no words, part of me didn’t think he would want to make it if I clarified that I only needed 25 pieces! To my surprise, the owner said they would be ready! This morning, The samosas were ready on time as he promised (I was late to pick up) and when I picked them up, the owner walked out to my car with the pan of these flaky goodness!! I am still in awe of such respectful gesture! When I brought them to work, the 25 samosas were gone in under 20mins and everyone loved the samosas and the equally nice chutney that complimented them perfectly! With this level of quality, I would forever be their biggest fan and I know where my future catering orders are coming from! Thank you so much for such wonderful experience! Wish you and your team many success and hope you keep up the quality and such...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming to Indian Kitchen since it’s opened and it’s safe to say— it’s my favorite restaurant in Mckinney! Now we’d never tried Indian food before, but I can tell you that this place is absolutely delicious and an amazing introduction to the world of Indian cuisine. Our favorite dishes include the butter chicken, chef’s chicken curry, dal tadka, and bombay chicken biryani. I adore the raita and garlic naan for sides as well. Out of this world flavor, freshness, quality, perfect portions and just the right amount of spice. Every time we come in, we’re greeted by the owner who is simply the sweetest man, prepared to make sure you have the best experience. You can tell he takes great pride in his business. His wife is the chef and she is simply amazing at what she does. It’s always spotless. The wall art is very beautiful! They’re always making improvements to the set up. Recently, they updated the menu to include helpful descriptions as well as vegan/allergen labels. Please be patient as it is a small family business and there’s usually only 2 people serving, but trust me it is worth a little wait! One of the best treats here that we’ve experienced was coming in on Mother’s Day to an exceptional tray of delights. It included a sampling of different more “home style” foods as the owner explained. Simply outstanding! I can’t wait until they bring it back. I implore you to support this amazing establishment, you’ll probably...
