My first impression of this hotel definitely a 4-5 star but there were some small challenges. I wish I could have given a 3.5! The gentleman who checked us in greeted us with a smile and enthusiasm even though it was a late arrival at 10:30 pm. We are Wyndham Rewards members so we got a cute little welcome bag with some goodies in it. I appreciated that so much! The hotel is beautiful! Upon entering the room, I was immediately impressed. Gorgeous, up to date, very modern with a white leather couch in the semi separated living space. As we began settling in we started noticing things here and there were a little disappointing. We had driven all the way from a vacation in Canada so we were very exhausted and in need of showers. You know, women need at least 2 towels, one for hair and one for body. Every hotel I’ve been to has at least 4 towels. There were only 2 towels, one hand towel and one wash cloth. We couldn’t get the bedroom tv on with the remote. I called the front desk twice with no one answering. So I went down there. No one around, lights out. But there was a bell to ring for assistance. I rang it twice over about a three minute span. No one came to help. Decided I could live without tv since were very tired so I went back to the room. Upon returning to the room I noticed a room number was scratched into the back of the remote that said 235 BDRM. We were in 308. There was a tv in the living room that had no remote at all. My husband managed to find a very hidden power button on the bedroom tv but no other controls. We were surprised when the remote we had did change the channels though. The volume, however did not respond, nor did the other tv. When we got ready to get into bed realized we only had a bottom and top sheet. No blanket. So I thought maybe there’d be someone at the front desk now. I called and got a very nice woman who apologized and said she be right up. 20-25 minutes later still no blanket. By then we felt a little hungry so my husband went to the car for snacks we had. When he came in he happened to a see a lady put a blanket on the front desk counter and tell the nice gentleman at checkin that this is for 308. So my husband just walked over and got it from them. Now he’s back upstairs with the blanket. Great let’s watch some tv to settle down. My husband had to get back out of bed to hit the power button to turn off the tv (I know, first world problems right?). It’s just that we have come to expect certain things when we pay for a nice hotel. Lastly, the window did not have the typical hotel black out curtains (no curtains at all, actually). Just an old fashioned window shade. It was fine in keeping the light out but it was unsightly. The bed, however was amazingly comfortable with nice king size pillows! We slept very well! We probably won’t have an opportunity to be back through this area again but if we do I would stay here again because the towels and no blanket thing were probably just minor overlooks by housekeeping. No one is perfect. If management reads this I truly hope these things are rectified for the next guests in that room. All in all it was still a nice place for an overnight stay and I’m sure even a long stay. We didn’t get a chance to walk past the front desk to look at the other side of the building but from were we stood it looked beautiful. From other reviews I read it seems the pool is very nice as well. Thank you for the comfortable bed and clean...
Read morePaid over 400.00 for mothers day brunch. We got there early waited in line for our table number. Searched for table number as they were not numbered in order or even close. Servers had no clue. After they searched and wasn't there. They were checking with managers cane back and said the person who gave us take number was suppose to seat us. I went back out to where he was. He was no longer there. My husband spotted him. He quickly dismissed my husband said take our party of 10 which included young kids to cash bar and wait. Which there was a long line for and we dont drink. I had a 3 month old. Pop even cost money and we had already paid 50.00 an adult and 25.00 a kid (under 10). The manager we had asked about was busy with others. I see the man who my husband talked to walking to bar. I go to him and say we aren't at the bar cause of the baby he starts yelling its only benn 3 minutes he asked for 5. (I thought he was looking for us) but at that point he yelled at me with my 3 month old in my arms.. im like we have been here 45 minutes asked for help 35 minutes ago. He grabs a visit and tells me to sit. Then he starts straightening it the buffet line. He then walks to other side of hall is doing things forever. My husband gets tired of waiting. Starts looking for him. While hes is gone Marty comes back and starts setting this table that is surrounded by tge buffet line. And where the cash bar line exits. Litterally people were leaning onto this table to let people with drinks pass.he was adding chairs and plates like 10 of us would even fit with the line let alone be able to eat. When we approached and said we paid 50.00 a person we are not eating there he screams I know what you paid. Im trying to help and he starts yelling this is what we have cause they messed up the seating. Never once did he say I'm sorry or speak with out yelling. At this point my mom was upset. I tried to calmly talk to him but he was just like this is what we have. I asked for a refund. He said the live would be gone soon (30 minutes later line was still there). We went to lobby to get refund he was just starring at clipboard. My mom rang the bell he lost it says he wasn't refunding us to call Monday. Other workers walked in my mom asked if they were managers and they ignored her. Marty never once introduced himself showed empathy for an issue that was not our fault or tried to even make up for it. He could have offered the lobby couch and free pop while the found is a good table or anything. He eventually gave me the cash when my mom threatened to call the cops. He just kept saying you all were rude to me. No one called him a name or said anything except how upset we were. Which was very understandable. Marty may be the owner but he should not be working with the public. He needs someone running events. Do not go hear pay the extra and go to quail hollow so you at least have a...
Read moreI am not even sure where to start, so I'll start at the beginning with our experience along with many other from a wedding party.
When we first checked in, the lady at the front desk told us she could not find our reservation. After a few minutes of discussion, having my husband's ID in hand and a confirmation, she finally figured it out that the had his name in backwards. Last name as his first and first name as his last. This also happened to another guest in our wedding party, also with his ID in her hand and a confirmation number. Also upon checking in at 440pm,he was told his room was "still being cleaned" even though check in is at 3. From there, we asked her where our room was, and all she said was around the corner and then just left us stand there. That service is about what we experienced the entire time we were here for our stay. The elderly male bartender was absolutely rude and degrading to us on multiple occasions, even during the wedding ceremony. Even asking him a simple question, he made it seem like we were always an inconvenience to him and he didn't want to or have time to help us. During a check in of another party of the wedding, she was given her room keys and sent on her way to her room. When she used the key card given to her at the room she was given, she found someone already in there unpacking his suitcase. Obviously she was given the wrong room number and then key access to someone else's room. Thankfully they were dressed. In our room, besides the A/C barely being able to keep up, our toilet was not secured to the ground at all. It moved completely when we sat on it. We also asked for more washcloths and were questioned as to why we needed more towels when we were given some two days ago. The last downfall we had at our stay was the fitness center, or lack there of. In this fitness center, despite what's posted on the website, all that is there is a bike and "yoga equipment". I understand they were going through maintenance but maybe let guests know that when they check in. We decided to go for a walk around the outside of the building since there was no treadmill and halfway around on the backside of the building where the benches are, we were startled by two staff members running out of the woods, in full uniform, and we have no idea why they were there. Overall a really poor experience for a good sized room and price. Changes need to be made because we had a majority of our wedding as...
