The most important word in the name of this charming hotel is “Casa,” which translated from Spanish is home. Great consideration has been spent to make your experience one of relaxation, comfort, and warmth. The hotel, flawlessly recalls the old world charm of Spain ~ from “the living room” in the cozy, bright atrium, to the wrought iron railings which overlook it, to the gorgeous tile work, luxuriously appointed porches and patios, restaurant and charming rooms. The decor is impeccable. The whole property is meticulously clean. I could take up an extended residence at Casa Faena. I would be remiss if I did not note the exquisite quality of books, not just in “the living room,” but intentionally placed in nooks throughout the property. If you are a guest who is challenged by environmental sensitivities, this hotel is safe for you. You will not be assaulted by heavy odors and hidden dust bunnies. You will be able to rest healthfully. Also important to note is the easy access to the beach. A short and delightful walk ~ less than a New York block ~ places you right at the waterfront. The beach chairs ~ which a staff member will set you for you complete with towels and an umbrella ~ are comfortable. All of these amenities mean little to nothing without the people who make it all happen. All of the staff are delightfully personable ~ from housekeeping to front desk. This level of service is a high art form which has almost been lost in today’s cookie cutter world. I sensed a certain pride in craft - whether cleaning floors, waiting tables, or setting up beach chairs. A Few Notable Stars If you are lucky, you will be greeted at reception by Stephanie. She sets the entire tone of your stay. Demurely bubbly, helpful, caring and cheerful, her energy makes you leave your cares at the door. She doesn’t race through the checklist of amenities like an automaton, she gracefully and efficiently informs you about all the ways in which your needs will be met during your stay. My entire visit was made bright by her. When I returned to the hotel, it was like coming home to a beloved daughter. (Insert sister, cousin, buddy - as needed.) My teenage son adored her like a big sister and felt fondly looked after. She becomes familiar without being overly familiar. The restaurant at the hotel is delicious. Make sure to avail yourself of the happy hour menu. We had the good fortune to arrive at the hotel when Caesar was on duty. Caesar is charming, funny and an excellent conversationalist without being intrusive. He is skillful at determining the level of engagement a guest requires. Earlier, I mentioned that fantastic service is a dying art form. Caesar must have studied with a master because he is too young to know all of the minutia involved with above 5 star table service, yet, he delivers it flawlessly. Caesar is also a treasure trove of valuable information about dining and entertainment on Miami Beach. If you want to be guaranteed of a excellent dining experiences outside of the hotel, make sure to check with him. POC Factor: I only had one unsatisfactory moment. We had returned to the hotel after a day out. Stephanie was not at the desk. Whomever was working looked at me and decided that I might not be a guest and did not greet me with the customary “Welcome back.” Instead, she asked “How can I help you” which implies that I might not have business there (as a guest) and then asked whether I was there to attend a function. I learned she is a manager ~ from a different employee ~ after she made yet another micro-aggressive comment about me chatting with Stephanie as I was checking out. She, perhaps, could benefit from some sensitivity training.

Overall experience was positive but would look into other options for future trips to Miami. The food at this restaurant was hands down some of the most flavorful and incredible meals I’ve ever had, their chef deserves a Michelin Star. If nothing else, make sure you have dinner here. Pro’s: -Hotel staff was very accommodating, kind, welcoming and helpful in person as well as via email and phone. Huge plus. -The hotel is *curated*, absolutely gorgeous aesthetics for photos or brunch -Location is great if you don’t want to spend the extra to be right on the beach. The beach is a 2 minute walk and there’s a convenience store on 39th st about 5 minutes walking so you can pick up drinks and snacks on the way to the beach. -Booked a 3 night stay through a third party site, Super.com for around $515 which was pretty much median to average for the area; definitely saw much worse options for the same price -Hotel is hacienda/campo style so antique without any of the amenities so you can decide for yourself what is best for your trip Con’s -The rooftop is CLOSED indefinitely (seems like, 1 year+ closed for “maintenance “) which was infuriating as that was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel over the others in the same area -Zero amenities- no rooftop, no pool which turned out to be much more disappointing than we expected (Next time we visit, we will find a hotel with a pool and balcony) -Chairs and an umbrella are “included” in the hotel HOWEVER you have to carry it yourself and the umbrella is an old rickety piece of garbage so good luck fighting the wind at the beach long enough to have shade and sit down -The wait time at the restaurant is unbelievable, 1.5+ hours on a good day, so if you’re planning a quick brunch think again. The food is truly magnificent, a 20/10 so it’s worth it to wait but be patient -Third party site stated breakfast was included but we didn’t find out that was not true until we checked in. There is no breakfast, they gave us a $40 daily credit towards brunch at the restaurant All things considered, this hotel goes above and beyond for their guests, they accommodated an early check in which was wonderful but if you’re looking for amenities and convenience of modern hotels, this may not be for you. We enjoyed our stay but the pictures were deceiving and we would not stay here again.

A SCAM! This hotel, Casa Faena is a scam, people be careful! they do massive marketing on all the booking sites and use the brand of their luxury hotel Faena calling themselves Casa Faena and offer something more boutique with a normal price, but not cheap at all, they call it "our little sister" in fact there is no connection between them and the luxury hotel that they said they are related to, So unrelated that they didn't even put a sign with their name outside and they've been there for many years and are hiding under the name of another hotel (see photo)something more boutique with a normal price, but not cheap at all, they call it "our little sister" in fact there is no connection between them and the luxury hotel that they said they are related to, So unrelated that they didn't even put a sign with their name outside and they've been there for many years and are hiding under the name of another hotel (see photo)|The place looks like a hostel with some decorations, the entrance is through a restaurant which is noisy in the evening and you can hear the people from the rooms, the reception is a kind of strange counter at the end of the restaurant, everything is not up to standard and very simple, not like a 4 stars hotel supposed to be. the rooms are old in the shower there is no place to put even a toiletry bag, if you want to sit down and drink Something, the hotel does not serve anything, we were assured by phone that the hotel has a beach chairs and umbrellas the most important thing in Miami, since the hotel does not have a pool, we called specifically to ask and when we actually arrived it turned out that we had to carry a chair and a towel, the hotel does not have a beach and the hotel is not on the beach at all so it is necessary Walk 10 minutes with roads and carry chairs. |You are sitting in a public place with a folding chair, for the price we paid we could have taken a hotel with a pool and breakfast and a private beach with lounge chairs, we paid an exorbitant price for the brand and got a hostel with a different name, simply cheating|In addition to everything, the internet in the room did not work and we had important conversations at work and we could not have them, we had to go to a cafe in the rain to have the conversations when we paid for a 4 star hotel.
