Red Roof Inn & Suites Middletown - Franklin — Hotel in Middletown

This was absolutely a nightmare. I am traveling with my young child for a lacrosse event. Needed some where cheap for a night. Now when looking for that I do not except the Hilton but I do except is cleanliness. I don’t think excepting a CLEAN SAFE room is too much to ask for! These owners need to be reported to the health department! I have never felt unsafe at hotel till now. And trust me when I was young broke and wild I stayed in some places but this is the worst ever! The door to the stairs is propped open with a rock cause the key card doesn't work. But there’s no handle on the outside to get in so really don’t know what to think of this “door” but basically anyone walking by can come in. So not safe at all!!! The first room they gave me was disgusting. The walls were disgusting. Can tell the walls were never washed. The comforter had stains on it. One of them looked like blood. The toilet seat was not even attached to the toilet. It smelled like weed and beer. I called the booking agency and complained. The booking agency called the hotel the owners and who ever else came up which was very over whelming having 3 people in your hotel room telling you that it was the house keeper that was the issue then blamed it on the fact I checked in an hour early (I called Thursday and was told an hour early would be fine since my sons game started the time of check in) and they didn’t have time to inspect my room. They are in the middle of remodeling and just excuses after excuses. As an owner of a hotel there in no reason ANY of your rooms that you have open to customers should look the way this room did… then they showed me their “ remodeled” room it at least looked clean and the toilet seat was attached and being out of options with my sons games starting in 30 mins I said fine… moved rooms… fast forward to the night time. The fire alarms or something went off randomly. Woke up confused! Everyone is popping their heads out and I hear one of the other guests down the hall saying “first roaches and now this” all I heard was ROACHES! I said what!!! Turned around now terrified of what is waiting in the darkness flip the light on on my phone to avoid stepping on one and sure enough THERES A MF ROACH ON THE BASEBOARD BY THE BED I AM SLEEPING IN! It’s 12am when I discover this! I would of been better off sleeping in my car at this point! I’m disgusted!!! And hate that I have to take any of my belongings back to my house cause now I’m worried there will be roaches in my things!!! The owners should be ASHMED OF THEMSELVES!!! This review is all I can do since getting my money back for this horrible experience isn’t going to be a thing I mean when I first discovered the state of my room and the blood stain on my comforter the front desk said she’d deal with it after she got done eating… I’d be here a whole 5 mins and that is how they treated me when I made them aware there was a BLOOD stain amongst others on the bed… this is was a horrible experience. Avoid this place save your money and sleep in your car it’s safer and cleaner...

i stayed there 2 fridays ago, i originally paid for 2 nights. something changed so i called the front desk and told them i only needed 1 night they said okay and the money would be put back on my card. 1 week later the money still isnt on my card so i call them. they tell me it takes 8- 10 days to be refunded back onto my card, so i wait another week i call back and i speak to the general manager and i try to explain to her whats going on, before im done speaking she cuts me off, i tell her how rude i think it is for her to do that and i finish explaining to her what happened and who i spoke to. she tells me the person i spoke to no longer works there and shed look into it and call me back. the next day comes and she tells me the computer shows that i was there for 2 days and not just one. i told her she needed to talk to the person she let go and find out, and that she needed to watch her security camera footage and see me walking out at checkout time and not coming back. she said her cleaning staff told her they came in the room to clean and my stuff was still there. i told her that they were telling her lies and that she needed to watch the video footage. moments later she calls me back and asks for my email so she can send me receipt of the refund shes going to give me. This general manager was very very rude and said this will never happen again, i said thats one thing we can agree on because i dont plan on staying there again. in short, shes a rude and almost snotty person with no customer service skills and a dishonest staff. so in short if you are looking for a hotel room look somewhere else because this is not the experience you want to have. i had to play phone tag with a variety of employees for two weeks to get to this. and to top it all off, this manager Jane said she was going to send me an email with a receipt for the refund she was going to give me today which is 03/19/2015 and guess what ? no email. so basically im out the cost of a room for a night, and all the staff that i spoke to are dishonest thieving liars. when/ if i get a refund maybe ill write a different...

4 stars seem kinda too much but it’s simple. Rooms were good. Checked for bugs, didn’t smell and was clean. Few stains on the sheets coulda been cupcakes? Blue and brown? Who knows. Wasn’t very busy at all. Seemed like the only people there were the 12 or so employees roaming everywhere. Upstairs room 217. TVs are nothing special at all but they have direct tv some extra channels but couldn’t tell you the package. Bed was comfy enough but the pillows really suck. Lots of plug ins and USB ports but some don’t work. Crack on the bedroom window and less then a decent view. Think we paid $96 after all the tax and what not for one night. Paid with cash and they didn’t charge a deposit. Idk if it was cause we was staying jus 1 night or what. Guy at the counter told us pool hours and that there was no breakfast. Water pressure is like a bazooka and the walls seems paper thin. Dude at counter wasn’t friendly or unpleasant. Straight to the point. They worked on renovating other rooms all through the day and lots of banging, door slamming and many other noises at night. Bathroom was all good except the bathtub drains slowly. Had all your simple soaps and expected towel quality. Pool is nothing to write home about and some of the people I guess employed hang around all day and was very blatantly staring at us through the window while we were about to swim. Pool not heated as advertised but whatever. Pretty decent haven’t been to many hotels but I’d probably come back. Most everyone behind the counters smiled at us and seemed friendly enough. No big complaints but wasn’t a riveting...
