A good hotel is hard to find in Richmond it seems. The reviews overall were good here, but bottom line, I did not have a restful stay here, and probably won't stay again. Overall, the room seemed standard Hampton Inn fare, the room ceilings were high, which had me concerned...more later. Digital key let me check in and go straight to the room. Firs, the wifi internet was terrible. I was getting better service from the McDonalds signal from next door. It kept cutting out, and was slow. I couldn't get any work done. Staff was unaware of any problems, but I did just now find at least one other reviewer with the problem. I called it quits pretty late. The business center could have been better, it was along the main front desk area, so not discreet at all as I was trying to print off some sensitive docs. The shredder was broken. The printer had some certificates in it and I had to log back in and reprint. The carpet in the room was torn, but the bathroom was large and clean. Hamptons have some of the worst pillows in my opinion, not supportive at all. The desk was right next to the heater, it was difficult for me to get comfortable in the room as it blowed right on me while working, but was too hot away from it. ...To the high ceilings. I noticed it was very echo-y when I was talking. This proved to be the (I thought) last straw early the next morning as I could hear someone elses toilet flushing, them thumping across the floor, and every-single-door closing on the floor. I was not able to sleep in to make up for the late work night. As soon as I would doze back off WHAM! a door would slam shut, sounding almost as if it was in the room. I stay in a lot of hotels, and this was probably the worst I've had for this. I don't know if it was because I was staying in a "visual" room(for hearing impaired patrons), or the first floor which I never do, but it was very noisy. Hoping to make it through the day... Oh, salt in the wound, I woke up to ants all over my phones on my nightstand!

Research Road hotel. The hospitality of the manager that evening was great! I had a problem at check-in due to a third-party booking. He was very patient and understanding. The room was nice and clean. The room is dimly lit, which I think is nice. The bathroom mirror has the led lights around it. The products ZERO% are used. Fresh clean linen, like new. The only negative thing I have is that the bed had a dip in the middle (king). I slept comfortably but kept ending up in the middle. A complimentary breakfast was served, turkey sausage, bagels, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, make your own waffles (I did!). There is an indoor pool, however it was closed when I arrived. You can see into the pool room while walking into the main entrance of hotel. The doors lock after a certain hour. Either you use your key card or push the bell to be let in. The area located was a safe place. My stay was great.

Traveled with a large group to stay the weekend here. While we normally are quite happy with Hampton Inn stays, this one was pretty bad in cleanliness. We were informed at check in that the hotel is under renovation, which our entire group was understanding of. The hotel inside and outside was covered in trash and construction debris. The parking lot was littered with cardboard box trash from new televisions, plastic, construction waste included tons of nails and screws. Our group picked up sharp metal all weekend to avoid damaging a tire. This was mentioned to the construction crews with no change. It was pretty disappointing to have so much trash laying around the hotel when a large dumpster was sitting right outside. See photos. Also the amount of Marijuana smell (pretty sure staff were involved as well) was quite alarming in the evening when it was smelled heaviest.

I hesitated to book this hotel. I am not one to stay at anything with the word "Inn" attached to it. Not a Sleep Inn, Comfort Inn, Holiday Inn or Hampton Inn, just not my cup of tea. However, it appears that there were conventions in the area and hotels were booked solid because I couldn't get into the host hotel due to being sold out. ||I am so glad I did choose this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. It looks |small from the outside but our room was very spacious including the bathroom. We had more than enough room. The bed was super comfortable. The room was clean visually and it smelled clean as well. The hotel was quiet. No loud noise. The staff were professional and accommodating. The only issue I had was my room phone was broken and the staff immediately sent someone to look at it (it be fixed) but that was no biggie because who uses the room phone anyway. ||I was there for a youth convention and had 2 of my grand kids with me. They used the pool 3 times during our 2 day stay and they were very happy they had the pool exclusively to themselves to play around and have good pool time.||The hotel is conveniently located close to absolutely everything. There is a laser tag directly across the street. Mcdonalds and Hardees is less than a 5 second walk. Across the street is an IHOP. Another minute drive up the street is a "Skyzone". We went to all the above places. As a fyi, the hotel has a daily complimentary "hot" breakfast and the area was very clean and tidy. Actually the hotel was very clean, inside and out.||My stay was quite pleasant and I would surely recommend this location to everyone. It made a believer out of me. I'm all "INN" for...

On June 7th my husband and I visited Richmond because my father-in-law was put in hospice. Accidentally left 4 brand new tops I'd purchased the day we arrived. With everything going on, I totally forgot my NEW tops in the closet. We left on Sunday, I didn't realize it until Monday. I called the hotel and spoke with Nelly(who was so polite) and was told that the housekeeper placed my tops in lost & found. I spoke with Darryl who assured me their GM packaged my tops and dropped them at the UPS store. I was given a fictitious tracking number. The GM NEVER dropped them at UPS.||||Darry told me that he would need to get my credit card number because I would be charged for the shipping (no problem). I gave him my card number but noticed, I was NEVER charged. I called several times and finally was able to talk with the GM who said, "I will go by and ask them personally what happened". I called back the next day to follow up with the GM, they sent me to voicemail and Never returned my call. ||||The bottom line is this: the GM never dropped my clothing, they never charged my card for the "shipping cost" and I NEVER received my Brand New tops. If you leave something, make sure it's not new because the GM, who would never give me his name, will LIE and say he shipped it and knowing he never did. ||||Why didn't they charge my card for the shipping? Why did he give me a fictitious tracking number, which was unrecognizable by UPS? Why didn't I ever receive my clothing? Because he's a liar and a thief,...
