Hmmmm where do I start!?! Lemme say I wanted to love this place! Especially since itās black owned! I love to see us progress but I was not satisfied from beginning to end! My appointment was at 3:30pm I did not start getting serviced until 5:22pm! I had a day of other services planned since Iām an 1.5 drive to the city I like to get everything done in one day while Iām there! It was such an inconvenience!!! I think the icing on the cake is I never ever recalled anyone apologizing for such inconvenience or offering me any type of reduction in my service! Which is so crazy to me because they website list they charge you for being late! So what do I get for them being late! Well to move on to services I booked with one stylist and until it was time for me to get services I was told another stylist would be completing my hair! Which is something that should of been discussed with me when I booked a month ago....unprofessional....I booked a closure service and didnāt know I was getting a glued service until she started glueing and when I asked she said u wanted glueless? Uhmmm I believe thatās also something that should of been discussed prior to u starting Iāve been getting closure for awhile now and never got glue so I didnāt even know this was an option or anything that needed to be discussed! Nonetheless I was asked in the beginning if I wanted one part or Two parts...I said 2 I walked out with one part!!! I was asked how I wanted it styled I said straight with curls at the end! I walked out looking like Medusa with a head of curls! I had a Freepart closure which means u suppose to pluck and make the part....I had to ask the stylist to pluck my part and yeaaaaa that was a doozy! However they have a beautiful shop and as they IG page indicates they do a good job I left completely dissatisfied and of course this would happen when Iām getting my hair done for my birthday!

When I came in you asked me to sit in another seat I said oh your not ready you replied not yet! I said ok since Iām not in adequate parking spot which I was ok with leaving my car where it was I said Iāll wait in my car instead of in the salon( so if a cop came in between the time I can avoid a ticket) it just so happened as I was sitting there so one pulled out so I backed into that spot nonetheless as you stated I did not receive a text until 5:12 which was 32 mins after my arrival Yes you text me at 2 o clock which I stated at the time It was already to late for me as I was already in route, your 4:30 time cause me to attempt to rearrange my day! Luckily the nail salon was able to take me earlier HOWEVER I MISSED MY LASH APPOINTMENT DUE TO THIS MISSED MY DINNER DATE WAS ONLY ALLOWED TO DO TAKE OUT AND COULD NOT PICK UP MY CUPCAKES! My day was very strategically planned and when everyoneās considerate of others time! It ALWAYS works out! When we discussed the glue! I ALREADY HAD GLUE ON MY HEAD BECAUSE THATS WHEN I REALIZED WHAT TECHNIQUE and SINCE I HAD ALREADY BEEN DELAYED AND WAS TRYING TO CATCH DINNER I HAD NO TIME TO DELAY MYSELF ANY MORE LONGER!!!! I HAD A MASK ON YOU HAD A MASK ON WHAT ATTITUDE COULD WE POSSIBLY BOTH DISPLAY! And WHEN I WALKED IN WAS TRULY LOST BECAUSE I DIDNāT KNOW WHO I WAS GOING TO OR WHAT ANYONE LOOKED LIKE! So I was expecting someone to arrive at the desk to instruct me! Thatās when u acknowledged me and I said oh your Khadijah! I ALSO DIDNT TELL U WERE RIGHT IN THE EXTENT OF KNOWING YOU DONT DO CLOSURES WHAT I Stated was that the person who recommended you PROBABLY didnāt know that because they didnāt get a closure! HOWEVER WHEN I BOOKED A CLOSURE SEW IN WITH YOU! In FEBRUARY SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE REACHED OUT TO ME IN SAID SO!
Once again as I stated in the beginning the real annoyance was that NO ONE EVEN GAVE ME A SIMPLE APOLOGY ON THE INITIAL DELAY!
However Iām not in the city often and am unsure when I will be there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI booked Sidditiy Hair Studio with stylist Khadijah for a traditional sew-in and was highly disappointed by the lack of professionalism. From the moment I arrived, the energy was off. The instructions in her automated message directed me to enter a code upon arrival, which I did only to be met with a barking dog at the door. No mention of a dog was made on the booking site, and she made no effort to put the dog away. Not everyone is comfortable around dogs, and some people have allergies. If she insists on keeping her dog out during appointments, she should at least disclose that her space is pet-friendly in advance.
When I walked in, there was no greeting or acknowledgment. Instead, I was told to sit down while she casually fixed her own hair. I had no idea she was the one doing my hair until she finally asked if I had washed it. Throughout the entire appointment, there was zero effort to make me feel comfortable no conversation, no check-ins about whether the braids were too tight, nothing. But when she got on the phone with her boyfriend? Suddenly, she had all the energy in the world.
Despite the attitude, I will say she is talented. My hair turned out beautifully. However, professionalism is just as important as skill, and she completely lacks it. For example, she didnāt communicate that she was adding fake blonde hair to my braids until I noticed it halfway through. If youāre going to make a decision like that, at least consult with your client first.
Then there was the issue with payment. My total was $248, and I handed her $250. Common courtesy would be to ask if I wanted my change back. Instead, she just took the money and looked upset when I didnāt tip. Did you really think I was going to tip after that attitude? I walked into my appointment fully intending to tip well because I was excited to get my hair done. But the energy was so bad that I deducted my tip right then and there. I still had the decency to say goodnight as I left only to be ignored.
Her playlist was amazing she played a lot of great artists. But the thing is, you never know who youāre coming across. You never know who knows who, who can connect you to the next opportunity, or who could help elevate your work. Now that youāll never have me as a client again, youāve played yourself. Itās sad to see talented people like her let their nasty attitude and dark energy overshadow their skills.
After checking her Google Reviews, I see Iām not the only one who has had this issue. The name āSidditiyā suits her well because she carries herself with an entitled, dismissive attitude. No matter how good she is at doing hair, I refuse to spend my money where I am not respected. I would never book here again, even if it were free.
Iām leaving this review to clarify some misinformation in the business ownerās response to my original post. I was respectful throughout my appointment and maintained personal boundaries, including not touching the dog due to my beliefs. For context, your dog stayed next to me the entire time until it fell asleep. If animals are sensitive to energy, then perhaps that says something positive about mine.
Any movement or phone use was minimal and necessary. I only scratched my neck when the stylist stepped away due to irritation from the towel, which seemed reused. I also noticed issues with hygiene, such as sneezing without sanitizing and stained equipment.
Itās unfortunate that instead of taking feedback as an opportunity to improve, the response was defensive and included false claims. I stand by my experience and hope this encourages better professionalism...

Throughout my appointment I was expressing extreme discomfort - I was never rude but obviously whilst being uncomfortable my tone was agitated! I couldnāt reach out to the lash tech @lashed.by.gold to let her know because she blocked me on Instagram. I get individuals monthly and wanted to try someone new. BIG MISTAKE. I have never experienced this. I am also a certified lash tech so I know when a product being used is not on par - thankfully had adhesive solutions to remove my lashes the same day. I wish I could post photos of my eyes!!! The lash tech at this salon is also unprofessional. Claims I short changed her because I didnāt agree to pay the $25 same day fee, which was NEVER communicated prior to the appointment. You cannot just add additional costs into the total without communicating with the client first. Customer service 101.
Secondly, I won a giveaway and Khadijah did a great job on my Microlinks. However, I had my consultation back in January where she quoted me $310 in total for the hair and relaxer. Due to schedule conflict my appointment never happened until 4/28. Similar to her lash tech, she did not reconfirm or communicate the price beforehand to ensure we were on the same page. At the end of my appointment she stated the price as $360 ($160 for a relaxer that stayed in my hair for only 5 minutes - I wouldāve declined this relaxer altogether if she reconfirm the pricing). During the consultation she told me the relaxer would be $100. You cannot just assume the customer will be able to pay whatever price you throw out there so always reconfirm before had. I was also blocked on Instagram by Khadijah. You donāt treat paying clients this way - you still got your money! Frankly itās your fault for not being diligent enough to make sure you put the price breakdown in writing. I am warning future clients to make sure you have the price she intends to charge you in writing since accountability and customer service is lacking throughout this salon.
