Extremely frustrating experience here at Tru By Hilton. We stayed here for three days. We liked here, breakfast provided, 24/7 tea and coffee, big-screen TV... However, the last morning(12/27/20) somebody broke into our car and our ski boots, ski jackets, helmets were stolen. I was very shocked cuz it was literally the first time we experience this. We don't always put the ski boots in car but it was not the first time as well, nothing like this happened before. All my friends told me SLC is a safe city and they also can't understand why I experienced my first car break-in here at Tru By Hilton. So my conclusion is the location here is not safe! Be cautious before you book your hotel here. The break-in just happened under the hotel CCTV. We called police and asked the front desk if we can check the video. The front desk said they don't have access to the video. Seems like the people who in charge of this is not easy to reach as well. We had to give up checking the video and accepted a loss of >$1500 under the CCTV of Tru By Hilton!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to request a room change which they took care of immediately without any issues. My room was clean. Though I don't understand why the bathroom doesn't have towel hooks near the sink. The only ones they have are behind the door. The shower had an issue with the glass door shutting, it was not flush with the glass wall and so it would cause a horrible screeching sound anytime you opened or closed the shower door. Also there were no ice buckets in the room, so when I went down to get ice on the bottom floor I had to use a soda cup. It wasn't until the next day when I was checking out that I noticed across from the ice machine tucked into a corner near the drinking fountains, which was impossible to see from the ice machine, were ice buckets! The breakfast was adequate, not the greatest. The bacon was sort of nasty looking, either undercooked or just solid fat. The eggs were decent. All in all though it was an adequate stay.

This hotel has a modern theme. Most of the rooms have showers only, but nice showers. There are queen rooms that have a small bathtub that is more for disabled/elderly. The tub is very comfortable. There is a nice free continental breakfast. The store has a variety of items. Workout and indoor pool are nice. King room is small. There are two views, one if Top Golf but I would suggest the mountains. Considering they allow animals, it is nice that they have floors in the room. I would not recommended for extended stays or stays with children. There are no drawers for storage in the room or bathroom. Very limited storage to hang clothing and no closest. There is no microwave in the rooms and no coffee maker. They serve coffee in the breakfast are at 6:00.

Let’s start with location. Number 1: it’s all relative right? Off the beaten path for sure. Away from the interstate, away from city specific locations. A bit of a drive to get to those locations. However, it is right next door to restaurants, a WinCo 24 hour grocery store and a Maverick gas station. Perfect for access to these locations. The staff was extremely helpful, talkative, and friendly which seems rare these days. Really personable. There is a really good selection of snacks and drinks (with a grocery store and a Maverick near by you have a lot of snack food choice). They had a pool table to play on in the lobby. Never seen that in a hotel. Amazing! Breakfast was standard and expected continental fare but good enough to take care of you for the morning. There was PLENTY of free parking on site.

The room was clean, the bed was semi firm. The pillows were an awesome selection of feather and filled types. The shower was “amazing”. “Best pressure ever” “unbelievably great”. At least according to my wife and daughter. They really were shocked at how good it was. Nice towels and full sized soap/shampoo/lotion bottles. We even had a view of Top Golf close enough to watch the bad golfers spend a bunch of money.

Bottom line: this was a diamond in the rough that checks all the boxes as long as you don’t have to be downtown SLC. I don’t know if all TRU hotels are as good but this place was A+.

Accommodation Experience Report : The room had only completely sealed glass, the whole building has no any windows, There are no any windows in the room or aisle and it felt uncomfortable . Not sure if there is no escape system if there is a fire. The sound insulation effect is not good. Although I checked in at 2am, I can still hear the background music of the subwoofer in the next room for party or date. Passengers who checked in in the middle of the night smelled marijuana when they passed by. Booking Integrity Report : I came to the front door at 11:58 pm, nearly Monday morning, the front desk’s lady said there are some rooms available, and one king room price is $124,no included tax, I asked her “I come to here so late and many hotel now is cheaper than daytime,”the front desk said you can ordered from this hotel‘s phone number there should be discount ,then I called it, the staff from the phone said if I want to use the AAA membership discount only can give me one king bed room, the price is 105 , $124 is the price including tax, when I asked 2 queens beds rooms ,he said 2 queens beds room is more expensive,so I agreed to live one king bed room . After long communication,I checked in until 2am at August 15th. And 2 days later they sent me the receipt is $138 including tax. And when I called the manager, why changed price after I check out, why not keeping promises,he said this price is their normal price. No discount. He is manager,The price is set by him, other people can't change it, otherwise they...

Close enough to freeway for convenience, but not so close as to be noisy. Good value for the price. Pool and hot tub with good hours (6am- 11pm). Full breakfast provided--hot and cold cereals, omelettes, bacon, pancakes, yogurt, juices, bagels, toast, spreads. Coffee all day in lobby. Small fridge (no freezer) in room. No microwave in room but there is a microwave in the lobby where there is also a pool table and TV screens showing sports. It's a large, colorful lobby with lots of seating and eating areas. Comfortable bed and pillows. Good water pressure for shower. No bath, but I prefer showers anyway. Rooms are small. Not too much of an issue for two people (except that the room is too narrow to fit a dresser), but for four it would be somewhat cramped. Felt a little dorm room-ish. Functional but utilitarian with lots of black metal and faux wood. Very small desk surface to work on. It's a rolling desk, but that seemed gimmicky considering that there was little space to roll it anywhere. No carpet, dark laminate flooring. No closet, just.a hanging bar over the fridge. My biggest gripe was that there were no drawers to put my things away. I'm someone who unpacks their bags immediately since I hate living out of my suitcase. I had to balance my case on a long, low, narrow bench with no lighting above it, which I found inconvenient. Not a luxury hotel, but clean, generally comfortable, and has most things you need. I would probably stay here again for a...
