Let’s start with location. Number 1: it’s all relative right? Off the beaten path for sure. Away from the interstate, away from city specific locations. A bit of a drive to get to those locations. However, it is right next door to restaurants, a WinCo 24 hour grocery store and a Maverick gas station. Perfect for access to these locations. The staff was extremely helpful, talkative, and friendly which seems rare these days. Really personable. There is a really good selection of snacks and drinks (with a grocery store and a Maverick near by you have a lot of snack food choice). They had a pool table to play on in the lobby. Never seen that in a hotel. Amazing! Breakfast was standard and expected continental fare but good enough to take care of you for the morning. There was PLENTY of free parking on site.
The room was clean, the bed was semi firm. The pillows were an awesome selection of feather and filled types. The shower was “amazing”. “Best pressure ever” “unbelievably great”. At least according to my wife and daughter. They really were shocked at how good it was. Nice towels and full sized soap/shampoo/lotion bottles. We even had a view of Top Golf close enough to watch the bad golfers spend a bunch of money.
Bottom line: this was a diamond in the rough that checks all the boxes as long as you don’t have to be downtown SLC. I don’t know if all TRU hotels are as good but this place was A+.

Read moreAccommodation Experience Report : The room had only completely sealed glass, the whole building has no any windows, There are no any windows in the room or aisle and it felt uncomfortable . Not sure if there is no escape system if there is a fire. The sound insulation effect is not good. Although I checked in at 2am, I can still hear the background music of the subwoofer in the next room for party or date. Passengers who checked in in the middle of the night smelled marijuana when they passed by. And when I called the manager, why changed price after I check out, why not keeping promises,he said this price is their normal price. No discount. He is manager,The price is set by him, other people can't change it, otherwise they...
Read moreClose enough to freeway for convenience, but not so close as to be noisy. Good value for the price. Pool and hot tub with good hours (6am- 11pm). Full breakfast provided--hot and cold cereals, omelettes, bacon, pancakes, yogurt, juices, bagels, toast, spreads. Coffee all day in lobby. Small fridge (no freezer) in room. No microwave in room but there is a microwave in the lobby where there is also a pool table and TV screens showing sports. It's a large, colorful lobby with lots of seating and eating areas. Comfortable bed and pillows. Good water pressure for shower. No bath, but I prefer showers anyway. Rooms are small. Not too much of an issue for two people (except that the room is too narrow to fit a dresser), but for four it would be somewhat cramped. Felt a little dorm room-ish. Functional but utilitarian with lots of black metal and faux wood. Very small desk surface to work on. It's a rolling desk, but that seemed gimmicky considering that there was little space to roll it anywhere. No carpet, dark laminate flooring. No closet, just.a hanging bar over the fridge. My biggest gripe was that there were no drawers to put my things away. I'm someone who unpacks their bags immediately since I hate living out of my suitcase. I had to balance my case on a long, low, narrow bench with no lighting above it, which I found inconvenient. Not a luxury hotel, but clean, generally comfortable, and has most things you need. I would probably stay here again for a...
