THEY HAVE AN ARCADE MACHINE, A TURTLE, AND THE BEST BREAKFAST IVE EVER EATEN!! Now that I have your attention, I have no pictures much to my shame but only because I was enjoying the moment so much taking a picture never occurred to me They set my room to the perfect temp, I had the most amazing introduction to my room for the night which was filled with birthday stuff, (my favorite being the cake I genuinely couldn't stop myself from eating) and I'm a hardcore introvert so when I realized I didn't have to make awkward small talk with the hosts I was able to relax and enjoy my stay (No issues with hosts I'm just hella awkward and never know how to introduce myself)! My wife informed me of a turtle named Waldo on the grounds and of course I had to find him asap. He is the COOLEST TURTLE EVER!!! Highly recommend staying just to visit Waldo lol this guy is the BEST! I was told there were a lot of mentions of the breakfast and guess what? Imma mention it as well 🤣 the bacon was absolutely PERFECT and the omelette Megan made (she had the official cooking apron on so I'm assuming here 😅 sorry if she's not the one cooking) was so fluffy I thought I was on a cloud for a while before I realized it was only breakfast! SHE MADE ME A PARFAIT FAN!! I hate parfaits to the point I almost always request a substitution but my wife told me the breakfasts are the most mentioned things on the reviews so she convinced me to go with it and I am so happy I did. Idk what all was in it but it was crunchy, sweet, and savory all at the same time?!? HOW DID YOU MAKE THE YOGURT SO GOOD?!? Wizardcraft that I am happy to experience 😋! I love breakfast and she made my birthday breakfast a perfect one! Thank you Megan! I was impressed by her determination when the power went out on the block and she didn't even flinch, just straight up went "bet" and made adjustments to make sure everyone who requested breakfast got it! Like I said I'm a hardcore introvert and when I saw there were people already at the table I balked a little but I almost missed my "exist time" (I'm also fossil hunting and I wanted to get to the site early) because I got so caught up in conversation at the breakfast table with the other people staying at the inn. Everyone is chill and the conversation flowed so easily I genuinely forgot I was talking to people I barely met 5 minutes ago 😅 Thank you Jeremy for confirming our thoughts on the fossil site and when to visit! Like my wife says "Hypothesis's are great but it doesn't mean sh*t if a local can't confirm!" I found so many 5mm fossils at the site! (Largest confirmed size available to find at site it was great!) These hosts go above and beyond and it shows from the rooms, breakfast, local knowledge, and the house itself. Thank you all so much for making my 30th birthday an unforgettable one!

Let me start by saying thank you to Magen and Jeremy for being so gracious to allow us a private soft opening stay at the Magpie Inn. They officially open 9/1/20, but once they heard my story of trying to locate a B&B to get my wife out of the city and away from the stresses of online teaching a class of third graders they insisted on opening their doors to allow us a private stay. We have been following Magen and Jeremy on their journey over the last several years as they have ran several B&B's and have been working to create their own little slice of heaven now known as the Magpie Inn. They have learned a lot over the years of how to be great hosts. Magen even has a culinary background, and let me just say the food we were served for breakfast was amazing. 5 stars all around for the food. The B&B has old world charm. As you enter you will feel as though you stepped back in time. The old craftsman style wooden doors, trim work, and decor have such great ambiance. My understanding of the history of the building is it was built in 1910 and has always been a B&B in the town Mineral Wells over the years. Each of the rooms are equipped with modern comforts without removing the old world feel. Amenities were A/C, WiFi, Smart TV, private bathing and restroom accommodations, etc. The King Bed we had was extremely comfortable and dressed up nicely with soft cozy bedding of the highest quality. They were even thoughtful enough to serve the local Mineral Wells bottled Crazy Water which is known for its high mineral content and healing powers as the story goes. Look up Mineral Wells Crazy water for more details as there is more history to learn about on that subject that I will not explain here. This B&B was definitely a 5 star accommodation and I highly recommend it for your next stay. You won't be disappointed. As soon as we started posting pictures describing our experience on Facebook all of our friends wanted to know where it is and how to make a reservation so you better act fast. This place is sure to book up and stay that way. We will be returning guests for sure!

Hosts and Proprietors, Megan & Jeremy are wonderful !!! Full of energy and willing to make your stay here comfortable and fun, they can share highlights of this forgotten Texas town with travelers who come to rest, investigate, and be invigorated by bottles of "Crazy Water", whose medicinal powers was one of the main creating points when this town was founded back in 1877. It has been visited by Hollywood celebrities in the past who were seeking privacy and anominity from the public (*1930's+). This B&B, itself over 100 years old, lies in the middle of town between and within sight of the infamous Baker Hotel and Haunted Hill House, both described as two of the most haunted, if not foreboding structures in America. I stood in front of the Haunted Hill House, not knowing its reputation or where i was, when I first took pictures of the Baker Hotel. I thought it was the nearness to the hotel that was creeping me out, but nope, it was that damned house. My hair quit bristling when I got back into the car. You can also see an abandoned multi-story building, the very old Nazareth Hospital, directly diagonally across from our room at the end of the street, and spooky and strange it too seems. Be prepared for street navigation difficulties in this Texas town located in a valley between small peaks in the Palo Pinto mountain range ( yep in the mountains as such ), next to the Brazos River. We are staying at the intersection of 4th St. And 4th St. There are two more 4th streets located elsewhere and I saw a 28th st blocks away. Go figure. Too much "Crazy Water" ( or Fire Water) in the guy who named them. Come and visit and talk to our hosts. And look for ghosts. That's why I came, but not for these ghosts. My grandmother was born in this area in 1898. My search for ghosts was personal.

Please please please! If you're thinking of going to a corporate hotel CHECK THIS PLACE OUT INSTEAD!!! Tired of micro charges you aren't warned of from opening the mini fridge? Tired of loud, random, (probably turnt) strangers waking you up in the middle of the night partying while trying to enjoy your vacation? Tired of stepping out of your room and getting hit with cig and vape smoke? (I am a nicotine fiend and it was 100% worth not smoking to experience this place. It's super easy to take a small stroll around the block if you need too!) Tired of cold muffins and stale coffee at the checkout for "All inclusive breakfast"? Come here for a night (then honestly stay longer it's such a vibe) and love exploring BnBs again! THEY EVEN HAVE A TURTLE WITH A LITTLE FOOD GARDEN TO FEED HIM IF YOU FIND HIM!!! Does Marriott have that? How about Hilton? They don't because they're basic, level up guys! The hosts were amazing, they've put a lot of time and effort into this and it shows. Magen is an absolute Boss Queen!! It was storming the morning of our checkout and we chose the breakfast option and after she served us the power decided to take a small break and it went out across the block. Keep in mind she has a FULL HOUSE and we're the first wave of breakfast people eating! Did she start making plans to cancel? Nope. Boss Queen decided to start pulling out the camping cooking equipment and keep the show running!! She was READY! The house sensing it was the weaker one then turned back on to let her keep cooking before camping equipment could be retrieved 🤣 Oh oh oh, They have an awesome game room WITH AN ARCADE MACHINE! My husband was making excited noises the entire time playing, it was a great nostalgia moment that really set the mood for his entire birthday weekend. I loved being on the second floor to see the views around. I'm from Houston so you really miss seeing green and trees when 99% of what you look at in your day to day life is concrete and metal structures. They have porches on the bottom floor and the top floor! Perfect for chilling, catching up, reading, scrolling tiktok, or watching a rising/setting sunset. I haven't even gotten to the rooms yet y'all they are Chefs Kiss! Thick carpet, amazing beds, they CAN SET YOUR ROOM TO YOUR DESIRED TEMPERATURE (I love things icy cold, my husband however can sit on top of a fire and claim he's still cold so setting the room temp is a big deal for us), Oh, anyone got a birthday coming up? Get the birthday package! My husband said it's one of the best cakes he's eaten and the way they present it in the room is adorable! My husband teared up a little when he saw all the stuff for him, he really loved the cake soda and crazy water as well! Thank you 🙏🏻💛 for making my husbands big 3-0 birthday a perfect one, he's already asking "How soon can we go back out there?" And I still haven't recovered from my sunburn 🤣 (There's a fossil site nearby, primitive setup but worth it for beginners). We can't wait to see y'all again! Tons of love, these hosts are one of a kind and the...
