Have given them 1 more chance than we should have. Hubby and I have been a few times, and it hasn't been completely horrible, so we decided to bring family members tonight. We all got the food. After being on an hour bike ride, we were ready to eat. 1st issue... my brother orders Street Tacos. He received ROAST on his tacos w what he says ta a tasted horrible and slimy. HE LOST HIS APATITE. So the waiter apologizes and says no problem, we will have it taken off your bill. Meanwhile, we continue to try to eat our food. (No flavor in anything) So we just continue to eat, and the manager/owner, whatever she is, comes over and starts talking, telling my brother that everyone loves their food and they've never had an issue. He told her it just tastes slimy and like pork, not beef. She continues to tell him well maybe you should start sampling the "beef" wherever you go because we just had to throw away all that food! EXTREMELY RUDE AND HIGHLY UNPROFESSIONAL! We did not cause a scene. We did not say anything rude even though I could've said a few things, but we aren't those kinds of people. Anyways, she finally walks off, and everyone just disappeared. We waited 30 + minutes later, and my brother again had to ask for our waiter to get our check. A waitress (very sweet) comes back and says they will get your check up front if you're ready. So we walk up front... our waiter was having trouble with the card reader and had to ask for help. That's fine. I get that. I've been there. So I went outside with my best friend. My brother, hubby, and bestie hubby come out. TheY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE 18% GRATUITY, which is fine if your service is worth it. Well, it states on the menu that you can higher or lower that percentage.... meanwhile, my brother nor friends hubby wasn't even given the option. That is wrong to SCHEME EXTRA $ in on a tip you CLEARLY DON'T DESERVE! Before yall come at me, I've been a waitress... I understand we work for tips.... and if you're working for it, then you should be nicer to your guests and customers. Anyways... long story short. It was not a good experience, and wr didn't ask for the rude behavior or to be treated like we didn't matter. We will be praying for the ones who couldn't handle people letting them know they just didn't like their food. It just didn't work out. It happens all the time. Nothing to me, so rude about. š Hope yall think before you try this place. We definitely won't be back to be treated so rudely. 𤷠Have a great day ... ps.. SAMPLE THEIR BRISKET BEFORE GETTING STREET TACOS AS THE LADY SAID SO THEY DONT HAVE TO THROW...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen wanting to check the place out. Heard a lot of good things about it, especially the guacamole. Came here and had breakfast. The prices were good for the portions, very generous food and excellent quality of food as well. The guacamole was interesting, I could tell it was fresh and solid quality, but it had something that guacamole either usually doesn't carry or it had extra of. It was different.
I would have given this place 5 stars, but the only thing that lessened it was the service. The service was great, but could improve. As someone who works in hospitality, I was studying the servers, which ones were attentive and when they were attentive. There seems to be a disconnect between the servers as far as clear communication is concerned, along with knowing how to prioritize and timing.
I along with others around me had about 10 minutes before we got the help we needed. As I overheard the conversations between the servers, those could have waited until after the rush. When its busy, you have to prioritize the customer over things that could be figured out later when its not as busy. It is also conflicting when you want to tip your server well, but another server ends up taking better care of you than the one that was assigned to you.
I do show grace, which is why I gave 4/5 stars. Again, there wasn't bad service. The timing and priorities just need to change and be more of a pivotal focus. I also understand the servers got a lot of tables in a short span of time, however, if you become better at prioritizing and timing, this helps better pace the tables for the steps of service while also making it easier on yourself.
I believe if the servers get this and apply this, this place could easily be 5 stars all around, no problem, with a consistent higher tip percentage, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not one to post reviews typically but we traveled 3 hours from commerce texas to have a little vacation and go to PK lake, we got to the hotel and Iām 6 months pregnant and STARVING the receptionist recommended for us to come here and Iām glad we did, Iām such a picky eater and I hate salsa but itās been a craving so I tried it and I swear this is the best chips and salsa Iāve ever had, I had to take some to go! Our server Brittany was amazing! Very attentive, our drinks were never empty and my husband ordered a piƱa colada and I was visibly sad that I couldnāt have one due to the pregnancy and alcohol, Brittany and the owner went out of their way to offer and make me a virgin one and it was the freshest one Iāve ever had in my life! The pineapple garnish as well! It was super juicy, I ordered a plate with a taco, enchilada and tamale, and asked for double rice, I order tamales all the time when I go to Mexican restaurants and these were too tier! It was like someone was in the back making them from scratch as I placed the order, super fresh! Very soft and flavorful masa, everything was seasoned to perfection! Iād make the drive again just to come here because like I said it was...
