A beautiful Venue under TERRIBLE management. First, I want to say that I'm actually sad that I have to give a negative review of this venue. However, because of the level of unprofessionalism of ONE, who happens to be the General Manager (Bridget Shelton), I have no choice. We chose this location for our wedding reception dinner. At the time, I was working directly with their event coordinator. She was, helpful, accommodating and very knowledgeable, making planning much easier. Unfortunately, two months before our event she took another position elsewhere. I was informed by Bridget that they would not be replacing her but that her and other staff would make sure I was taken care of. I was disappointed because I knew I was losing the one person with experience. Although the other staff did their best to step up where they could, we definitely felt the absence of their event coordinator. Bridget promised to step in but then was NEVER available. Her lack of availability was accompanied with excuses which included details of her personal life plans such as a grandmother birthday week and a daughter cheer event, as if her personal life was relevant to my situation. It even went as far as her gaslighting me saying, "well don't you have a wedding coordinator for this?" even though this was a meeting scheduled by the event coordinator before she left as part of the planning process. With such a big day closely approaching I was doing my best to keep things positive, wanting this day to be surrounded with happy thoughts. It seemed Bridget would have NONE of this. When we had our final head count and needed to pay our balance I was expecting this balance to go down since we had reduced our head count by 25 people (from our original estimated count). To our surprise, the balance went up significantly. When I asked Bridget, her response was, "Molly, it's simple math". This comment was actually said to me several time throughout our conversation. However, if it was such "simple math" then why was it not done correctly by Crazy Water in the first place when I received my estimated balance from them? The conversation was eventually shut down with Bridget saying, "I will be direct with you. We need this remaining balance paid today or you won't have food at your event. How's that for direct?" Wow! Fighting back tears and being less than 2 weeks from our event we had no choice but to pay the balance. I will finish this review by saying, the staff that we interacted with (other than Bridget) were really great. I feel bad that they are under such a terrible example of leadership. Bridget should NOT be in any aspect of Hospitality, let alone a position of management. Throughout our time at Crazy Water Hotel, we had several conversations with staff member and other associates of Crazy Water Hotel. They all confirmed this. Bridget was a wet blanket who went out of her way to make our special day not so special. In the end, we didn't allow this. We can not only NOT recommend this venue, we have made it a point to deter people from this venue until better management...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights beginning 3/13/22 ... we had a 2 room suite, one with a king bed and one with a queen, 2 bathrooms, couch and kitchenette ... it was very clean, nice, roomy, new and made you feel right at home ... I believe it's listed as an Air B&B which (no maid service daily, towels or linens changed/bed made) which was fine with us, especially since we were only there for 2 nights ... the 2nd floor of the Crazy Water Hotel opened October 2021 ... if I remember right, the 2 upper floors are apartments ... all 3 rooms had AMAZING blackout blinds!! The Lobby is expansive! They are still doing renovations on the hotel - still need to finish several areas, but everything worked out just fine, except, however, I do wish they had cable TV set up before opening these rooms - we were told it's coming but it's hard to get it for so many rooms (not sure that I understood that explanation by the cleaning staff) but everyone was very friendly and kind ... all the apps were on the TV, you just had to sign in, IF you have those accounts - Hulu, Netflix, YouTube, etc. The little shops inside the Crazy Water Hotel Plaza were open each day, however, many stores there are closed Sunday/Monday or Monday/Tuesday - we wish we had thought of checking into that, but we had a very nice time and enjoyed our girls trip as we found plenty to do and just relaxed in between and had quality time!
I would go again, but would want the TV's to have cable next time and would go when ALL the shops in walking distance are...
Read moreAmazing! I was in town for my niece's wedding nearby, and it exceeded my expectations. Everything was spotless, and the entire staff was exceptionally warm, helpful, and immediately responsive, regardless of the request. The room had a full-size refrigerator, cooktop, and oven and would make a great efficiency type of setup for a longer stay. It was a great base for my four night visit to the area. The hotel is steps away from local restaurants and night life (just walk downstairs to the brewery or grab a bite frim the onsite restauranr) and beautifully blends the historic charm of a vintage hotel with sleek, modern appointments and decor. You simultaneously feel like you've stepped back in time to the early 1900s as well as in a high-end posh and elegant sophisticated modern hotel. What stood out the most to me was the warm engagement of the staff that took their time to make you feel truly welcomed. Make sure you check out the fun activities, like yoga on the roof at sunset or sunrise. There are onsite shops and a historic museum, too. Drop a letter in their vintage letter box and let them know what you think about your stay. They really read them! The views of the historic downtown areas are stunning. I also had a chance to peek at their 7th floor ballroom, which was gorgeous and had exceptional views. I couldn't have been happier with my choice to stay here. The pricing is very reasonable and the quality is top-notch. I'll be back again once their spa...
