Natty Flat Smokehouse — Restaurant in Mineral Wells

Working in Mineral Wells for the week when I decided to stop in for dinner. I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff and was surprised the restaurant wasn't busier than it was. Decor was appropriate for a small town BBQ restaurant and even had a country store complete with candy and canned items. Didn't notice until I was leaving, but it also has a drive thru.

Ordered a rib dinner with two sides and bread option (texas toast or jalapeño cornbread) and a drink; chose the mac and cheese, Natty Flat beans, and cornbread. Unfortunately, the lady at the register didn't realize they ran out of cornbread when I selected it, but they so apologetic about the minor mistake, I couldn't even be fazed by it.

Food was ready within 5 minutes and was absolutely delicious; every piece of it. The spicy BBQ sauce at the table was an added benefit, but the ribs were great without it. The beans came with shredded brisket on top and the mac and cheese was seasoned to perfection.

Once my meal was done, I lingered to get some work done on my laptop because the dining room was so quiet. As a result, I made room enough for dessert and chose a serving of the banana pudding. It was better than my wife's! (don't tell her) I would come back just for the dessert. In fact, given the options available, I might do just that when I'm back in town.

BLONDE HAIRS IN MY CHOPPED BRISKET AND SLICED BRISKET!!! PAID NEARLY $40 FOR 2 PLATES OF BBQ THAT BOTH HAD BLONDE HAIRS IN THE MEAT. And if thats not enough the porter they have working for them (Kenzie) has been actively stealing my girlfriends identity racking up unknown charges and receiving loans in my girl friends name. Actually she did it not even 24 hrs ago and has been doing it since September 23rd. I hope u don't let this employee handle any transactions. She can't be trusted with people's banking info or even debit card numbers. There's no telling how many poor customers are being scammed and stolen from by this horrible employee. Tried this place twice and both times I have ordered fatty sliced brisket and been served chopped, dry, no fat brisket. I stood there this last time watching her cut the brisket for my order. The girl cut dry no fat brisket off and chopped it. I spoke up and said, it's supposed to be fatty. She huffed and rolled her eyes and continued cutting the last of that brisket and chopping it. Well, both times the brisket was given to me chopped when I ordered sliced, and it's so dry and tough! when I watched her slice it off, she was not slicing correctly. I watched a couple other of the kids working. It's obvious that thwy have not been taught how to properly slice brisket. I've ordered the ribs and pulled pork too. The pulled pork was dry like the brisket and lacking flavor. The ribs were as ribs should be, tender, however, I would not buy them again as they are overpriced for sure!
